Universal must have regret that decision.

My guess is Brad and Russell would bring a totally different interpretation to the same role and same script of SOP, which would be interesting.

I think Brad would have played SOP as a man, at the prime of his life, ready for action whereas, Russell will have to play SOP as a man, in poor physical shape, wrestling with his own angst and addictions, having to deal with sh*t he’d rather not have to think about (I mean, really, in that photo, Russell doesn’t look ready for any action besides hitting the booze bottle).

felinelilly and cook are two adults who are doing no harm. if someone is offended they should skip. this is a public blog and they are not disrespecting anyone.

If I remember correctly, Brad found the script has changed too much. He wanted it brought back to, or close to, the original (BBC show).
For that they’d have had to wait for the writers’ strike to finish. Brad was prepared to wait, but obviously the studio wasn’t.
Crowe looks awful. Shocking!

I love San Diego. It has near perfect weather. The city is well planned. San Diego isnt as big as LA, but it’s good enough to have the big city feel.

You won’t get any arguments from me. San Diego is a beautiful city. That is the beauty of CA you have deserts, red wood forest, farm land, mountains, who could ask for anything more?

I have been watching the NBA All Star game. I am so disappointed. They had good music by some of NO’s finest bands and individuals. But I didn’t see the fat man, Fats Domino. Did anyone see him? is he that old that he couldn’t play? Peace

Regarding the “if-offended- skip- it” thing: we don’t all agree, so shouldn’t that same freedom of expression be extended to those of us who find it annoying? If anything goes, then anything goes both ways? Say whatever you want to say, but in return expect reactions. What am I not getting? It’s not so much about particular posters as it is a general principle.

I have learned a great deal tonight about water rights and aborigine issues(?) and I thank the educated contributors for posting. I am not much of a contributor but I am appreciative of those who can. (My dictionary lists the word aborigine as “the original inhabitant of a land” and doesn’t state a location. I have always thought of the name as a proper noun identifying a specific culture. You got me thinking, which is why I looked it up.)

May I make a suggestion to 3075 LTL and 3098, cook and Felinelilly and any regular poster and lurker who finds certain posts offensive. There isn’t anything that cannot be resolved with compromise …come to a mutual meeting of the minds please. Since it is a blog for everyone who is a JP fan and it would not be fair for anyone to feel compelled to or have to leave because of this.
There are two realistic alternatives:

1. every time cook and Felinelilly engage in their personal exchanges in big letters cook and Felinelilly state before their text, “to cook only,” “to Felinelilly only…everyone else ignore.”
It seems the main complaint is readers are not sure what they are getting into when they begin reading cook or Felinelilly’s post.
Just like lylian and I have in our recent exchanges announced loud and clear “OT-skip if you don’t want to read”….
This simple procedure by cook and Felinelilly would certainly solve the concerns of those who are annoyed with the tone of their posts.
When all else fails:
2. don’t read any of cook or Felinelilly’s posts. It’s really no different than being in a hotel room and the couple in the next room is “doing it”. You just don’t know it because you can’t hear it…apply the same principle here…DO NOT read any of feline lilly or cook’s posts…that is the easily solution. They can speak for themselves but I doubt they will care.

Cook already consistently formally addresses his posts. Felinelilly if you do the same, readers who follow and enjoy your posts will know you are not specifically addressing cook…simple.

Everyone is offended at one time or another probably every day on these threads, so being offended because of a sexual innuendo by two regulars should not be any more offensive than the “haters and trolls” who patrol these threads but again it’s a personal issue, so respect for each other is the key to peace.
Now it’s up to Felinelilly to decide if she wants to address her posts since cook already does it and if it doesn’t happen, just don’t read her posts. If Felinelilly does care, she will do what she has to do i.e. start addressing her posts to cook in a formal manner with a “skip if you do not want to read”.
As much as I do not really want to be in the middle, a facilitator needs to make recommendations so all parties can move on. Now it your turn to make sharing these threads happen ladies and gentleman.
