Angelina Jolie is a Helmet Head

Angelina Jolie arrives by plane and makes her way into the Green Zone in Baghdad, Iraq on Thursday.

The U.N. Goodwill Ambassador had lunch with American soldiers and voiced her opinion and listened to the ideas of others in day-long meetings. Jolie appealed on Thursday for more international help for the millions of Iraqis displaced internally and abroad, U.N. officials said.

Go on with your awesome self Angelina!! What an amazing woman. And thank you JJ for a thread of substance and something meaningful (as opposed to the debacle from yesterday).

I guess by now Angie is safely on her way back home, so the trolls can quit worrying their stupid little heads over that… where is it written that women who are pregnant must remain encased behind glass at home for 9 months??? What G-D century do they think it is anyway?

Think of all the pregnant women who have to LIVE in Baghdad and worry about them, and not about a humanitarian who is there for a day trying to find some workable solutions for the displaced citizens, with all the safety and security she could possibly need. I hope the trip was enlightening and that some good comes of it - BRAVA ANGELINA!

hi rachelsun. austin is a beautiful city. beautiful parks a large lake a very vibrant and alive downtown. i think the jolie pitts will have a wonderful time there. sandra bullock made a film in austin and ended up loving it and bought a house there. i wish women would be more supportive of women doing great things. : )

It is just fake concern for a possible pregnancy and you are right, there are military men there as well as Iraqi citizens who should be in our thoughts and prayers. The thing I like about AJ is she does not take sides in a political war but goes as a UN representative to talk about the plight of the refugees and the human cost of the war. Thanks for the post.

Sorry don’t know what happen there. I posted 2 links and got the ‘Awaiting Moderation”. Have a look at these pics of Angelina,
there nice large shots of some of her day .

i do believe that the same people who are so concerned about a pregnant woman going to iraq are the same ones who say she isn’t pregnant. doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

No offense dina#1, but many people who serve over there don’t consider it a bogus war.

This is what i love about Angelina. She create awareness in an unassuming way, simple and we get the message unlike some celebrity who spent million to raise a million. Those glitzy event and dress can cause permenant blindness to those who dont understand the real meaning of charity.

Peace

hi carolina :)

au natural @ 02/07/2008 at 6:58 pm

I’m very impressed with her CNN interview. She was articulate and provided informed and intelligent responses fluently. I almost forgot that she was also a hollywood actress because she sounded like an intelligent NGO. How many more people like us who are desensitised by news reports of refugees have been enlightened once more because of her association with the issues?

coalharbourqt @ 02/07/2008 at 6:50 pm

HI coal, I was just thinking about you, I hadn’t seen your posts lately. How are you doing? Hope things are good for you, good to see you post.

yep dina#1 go gurl @ 02/07/2008 at 6:59 pm

Dina #1 your’e right I have 3 family members who are there who want to come home they don’t understand what they are doing there.

I am glad Brad is allowing Angie to be herself and she does the same for him. As long as they do this they will be together. That is what ended BBT and Angie. He did not want to be involve with her cause whereas Brad welcomes it and has develop his own way to give back and help others. She is involved, she may not have a lot of power but she is involved. The state dept must respect her or they would not have given clearance for her to go to Iraq.
Go Girl!!!!

#142: Rachel Sun, maybe before we were women, we were crabs. When God relented from his begging and gave Adam his partner, he must have picked a creature from the sea (which happened to be a female crustacean) to turn it into Eve. There can be no other explanation for it (either that or he gave us all a crab gene by mistake).

I wonder if that’s where the word crabby comes from. We tend to be that way at certain times of the month.

Hi senior - thank you for thinking of me :-) My boyfriend took me to Victoria for some R&R, so I was out of town for a few days. Thought I had better get over here and see what was going on as I heard Angelina was in Baghdad (yay!). How are YOU doing? Hugs to you! Big *hello* to all the fans!

Okay I know I’ll get hit with a hammer for this, but I’ve gotta say it…if she is pregnant, she has no business being in a war torn country. Say what you want about her “need to help” but this is most selfish on her part. I’m leaning more and more that she is not pregnant…no way she would do this dangerous thing with child. NO WAY…and if she did…she’s just lost some respect from me. I’ll hold out till the announcment or denial before making my mind up though.

Hello all you wonderful BAMPZS fans! Hope all is well!

coal just literally got off of the phone leaving you a message! Love you!

For those bashing Angie, I dare you. You go and see what is happening there. We sit in warm homes, with food, medical attention and don’t have the fears of being killed because of your “tribe” or religion. While Saddam was not in anyway a leader to be proud of, mass murder that he was, the one thing he did believe in was womens rights! Please do some research, see the rise in “honor” killings, the number of women that have lost property and businesses! It’s frightening. I know Angie is not there only to shine a light on womens issues, but she sure as heck can shine a BRIGHT light where most of the world see’s darkness because it doesn’t matter to them. We as women should applaud her going and bringing the media with her! Many of them would not cover the “human” story if not for her. Soldiers have come back and reported on the everyday persons suffering, we didn’t spend time writing discussing and being appalled! Angie’s visit will lend a human quality to what “the people” are going through. Hopefully it will make the world take notice and find some compassion in their hearts.

is anyone else having problem with the brad and angelina megapost?
or logging on

how doe this amazing woman stay so unaffected by fame, so down to earth and so real?

i think she has such a beautiful profile. and very elegant table manners.

Amazing Lady!!! That’s why we love her…incredible and so much care for the world. Take care Angie and come home safe!

roman holiday @ 02/07/2008 at 7:15 pm

Damn…she looks so hot, even in a helmet!

lolz cliniqua!

hi sherry. How are you?

twentynineandholding @ 02/07/2008 at 7:17 pm

I’m sure I’ll get crap for this but I’m going to say it anyway…IF she really is pregnant…she has NO business being in a war torn country right now…no matter WHAT the reason or plight. If she cares that little about an unborn child, maybe she should rethinkg having another. Having said that, this makes me lean way more towards the side that she is not pregnant…what kind of mother would do that while pregnant assuming it is a wanted pregnancy. If I find out she really is, she’ will lose a lot of respect from me….but I’m going to hold out for an an official announcement or denial.

oh you poor little jenny-come-lately.

I’m POSITIVE that Angie is so deeply hurt to hear that she’s doesnt have your respect that she is right now, this very minute, hanging her head in shame and in deep contemplation about the loss of your patronage.

Oh woe is her.

Be Safe Angie, We are all very Proud of you, Waving at all the JP fans

vickifromtexas @ 02/07/2008 at 7:19 pm

hi sheri and coalharbourqt.

coalharbourqt @ 02/07/2008 at 7:20 pm

Sheri my big Sis! So good to see you post :D Sorry I missed you - phone was in a coat in the hall closet (oops!). Just found and got message. Catch up tomorrow night?

You have some excellent points - whether the haters like it or not, Angelina brings attention to issues and the ‘human’ aspect of it in a manner that no other can. I can’t wait to watch the CNN interview :-) I’m laughing that they tried to sneak in the pregnancy question  Love how she handled it.
