Angelina Jolie in Iraq (Not Jordan)
Angelina Jolie is serving in Iraq, not Jordan as previously reported.
As goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, the 32-year-old do-gooder was on a mission to highlight the plight of Iraqi refugees in Baghdad on Thursday.
Jolie is promoting action to help the two million people displaced by Iraq’s war.
“There’s lots of goodwill and lots of discussion, but there seems to be just a lot of talk at the moment,” Jolie told CNN in an exclusive interview. “What happens in Iraq and how Iraq settles in the years to come is going to affect the entire Middle East. And a big part of what it’s going to affect, how it settles, is how these people are returned and settled into their homes and their community and brought back together and whether they can live together and what their communities look like.”
Angie was also seen boosting the spirits of American troops, dropping by their dining facility for lunch in the heavily guarded Green Zone, which houses the embassy and Iraqi government offices in central Baghdad.

she’s great! and with no makeup on, she looks very human and approachable, but she does seem kind of tired and like she should get some rest. i hope she doesn’t collapse from all the stress of travelling. but she’s doing a very good thing and raising awareness.
________
#29, jjs, I kind of have to agree with you.
God bless her and her mission. Stay safe Angelina.

Ha and the rest critical of her visit to Iraq:
She is a UNHCR (High Commission on Refugees) ambassador. Part of her job is to generate publicity. There are six ambassadors at any one time. I bet most folks can’t name the other five–because they generally do two fund raisers a year. Angelina is much more involved–she has averaged about one event a month since she began her stint about five years ago. Other ambassadors have included Sophia Loren, Armani and more. I don’t believe any of them ever went to visit a country torn apart. If you think she is doing this for publicity–exposing herself to the attrocities that men commit upon one another–then maybe you need to go over to one of these countries and check it out personally. You probably would never go back. It is heartbreaking.
Secondly, because of her activism, the UN has her doing trips like Iraq where she goes back and reports on conditions so that the UN can better serve their population in any given country. They trust her view points because they know she studies and is an informed ambassador, not just one giving lip service to her work.
Thirdly, what a morale booster for the troops to have her eating with them, signing autographs and acknowledging their sacrifices. They’ll be telling their grandchildren about when they met Angelina Jolie just like the WWII troops told their stories to us.
And for those of you who criticize her for leaving her children and risking her life and that of her unconfirmed as of yet baby–well, then you need to level those same criticisms at those that put their lives at risk everyday for our safety: our police forces, fire departments, our troops, those men and women with families who fight the wildfires so they won’t spread and burn your house down, who are fighting to rebuild the Gulf Coast and New Orleans where crime rates are at an all time high. Or those community activists that try and effect change in the inner cities of Chicago, New York City and the rest of our inner cities. Every day they go to work not knowing what is going to happen–will this be the day I die from a crazed motorist? From burning beams falling on me? A sniper’s bullet?
Life in many ways is a roll of the dice. Those five women in Lane Bryants in Chicago probably walked in there feeling perfectly safe never dreaming their visit would end with a maniac shooting and killing them. Those students at VA Tech as they went about their day never expected to not see the sunset.
Angie knows if anything were to ever happen, her kids are in great hands–their father’s. She knows Brad’s family and her family will step in to support them and love them. And she is not stupid, if you noticed there was hardly any publicity about her trip. She is well protected because the UN and the US doesn’t want the headline story to be Angelina Jolie Dies while on mercy mission.
I think what she is doing is wonderful–both her deep love for her family and her unstinting commitment to her work with refugees and those displaced by war and natural disasters.
As she once said when asked about the criticism about her work with the UN (paraphrased)–those that know me know the real story and that is all that matters. And she matters to those that need the hope she brings, to those that find her an inspiration, and to those children she adopted and gave a chance at a wonderful life.
Just wish there were more out there with her passion and devotion. GO ANGIE.

Great and beautifull post!
lol,
you are stupid . Brad is with his kids like any good father will be. Don’t you know Angie does the same when he works or he is away?
They love each other and respect and support one another. Since the trolls has no chance to play that boring breakup story anymore they start another kind by trying to make it look one is jealous of the other etc… Bit.ches just go away.

Thankyou
—————–
I liked this part:
She is very nice, intelligent, serious about the refugee cause, and I cannot imagine how she survives given that she cannot take a step anywhere without crowds of people and cameras in her face. We had selected a group of troops and embassy officers to sit and have lunch. She was extremely sweet to all the people at the table, spent lots of time chatting with everyone, and agreed politely to every request for photos, autographs, waves.
____
She looked so beautiful, kind, and approachable. Maybe that’s why the camera’s are so bold as well–she’s very approachable and they sort of take advantage.

and Angelina just gave her own hard earned money what a great woman she is.
TO EVERYONE BEING CRITICAL AND NEGATIVE ABOUT ANGELINA’S HUMANITARIAN WORK– IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT YOU THINK, DO OR SAY :
“The opinion that really counts is that of the world’s refugees, millions of whom have benefitted directly from the work of angelina jolie…..they love her….”
Ron Redmund, Chief Spokesman, Office of the UN High Commissioner for RefugeesUNHCR) Geneva about Angelina Jolie.
I HOPE TO GOD all the bitter, critical bas****** are doing SOMETHING for other human beings–volunteering in their communities, in relief work, bring awareness, or SOMETHING before CRITICIZING SOMEONE ELSE WHO ISN’T JUST SITTING ON THEIR AS* AND TYPING IN INSULTS ALL DAY.
volunteering in relief work*, bringing awareness*
OT, SKIP IF NOT INTERESTED.
Speaking of strong women, did you guys watch GMA this morning? They have this segment called “I dare you”, where each of the anchors has to do something they’re not comfortable doing. This morning was Robin Roberts’ turn, and someone dared her to walk the catwalk, so she did it live at the Isaac Mizrahi (sp) show. She was nervous and everyone was anticipating her coming out, but when she did, she walked out there WITHOUT HER WIG, strutting confidently in all her power and glory! It was one of the most powerful, moving moments I’ve seen, I started crying. No one on the show was expecting her to walk out bald, and they all cheered her on, from the sound booth people to the audience. It was awesome.
Just in case some of you don’t watch the show or haven’t heard, Robin has just finished being treated for breast cancer.

And why does the woman interviewing her on CNN remind me of a typical stuck up, high school b****? Her voice is so dreadful and the way she asks her questions make her sound so condescending.
She suddenly becomes less haughty when Angelina asks her “Her about you?” jokingly when she asks her “So why is this so important to you?” Thank goodness. It was becoming intolerable.
Ugh…Clooney strikes out and so does Madge…that Gucci/Kabbalah/celebrity clusterf*ck sounds obscene and frankly insincere….and I for one am sickened at any ‘charity event’ that invites a sexist homophobic nasty old blowhard GOAT like Trump who has a penchant for beating up on Angelina Jolie…I’m glad the UN was uneasy, let Madonna and her celebrity shallow egomaniacs raise their millions on their own..she’s just associating herself with the UN for legitimacy…she sounded so ridiculous in that speech..she’s like 99.9 percent ambition and 0.001 percent heart..sure she gets sh*t done sometimes..but it always feel phony as hell.
Felinelilly
I watched it also. I started crying also. I told myself stop crying what’s wrong with you? What was wrong? I was so proud of her and her courage. I was so happy for her and all people who dare to do something that is outside of their comfort zone. Peace
When this woman was taking a close up shot of Angelina behind this soldier who was talking about how he was studying Journalism back in Austin, Texas, she kept saying “Beautiful, beautiful” and I found that endearing.

People can never smell the bull**** right under their noses. It would have just looked too despicable for her to snatch up a kid like her newest diamond ring, so she had to back track and try and do something for the poor boy’s country.
Let’s all attack Angelina and so on and none of the other bull******** celebs, but the one true humanitarian who was doing it all before it was “popular” and “cute”
Quick Question
Where do pregnant Iraqi women go to? Surely they don’t stay in the country…I mean I bet the moment the pregnancy test comes out positive, they are immediately shipped somewhere else…no? I’m just asking because I’m trying to understand where the hoopla over AJ being pregnant and going to Iraq is coming from. As we speak… AJ, who is visiting for 3-4days is 100 times safe than the Iraqi women who live there.
If AJ is indeed pregnant on this trip…then I say bravo to her. Apart from the fact that it shows she’s not your average lazy bones pregnant woman, she’s also showing that when you genuinely want to help others, you don’t do it only when it’s convenient for you. When there’s a call to arms to help someone in bad situation, you heed that call. (Okay, that came off a little Brave-hearty, no? Ah, who cares…AJ is a brave heart or is it has a brave heart? Hmm)
ThankYou
Ever heard of a little country called Benin? Yeah, that’s where my researching doing grandmama lives.

Quick Question
Where do pregnant Iraqi women go to?
_____________________________________
Oh dont you know, AG? Pregnant Iraqi women arent white so their babies wont be white and so dont matter.
Remember, only the white Jolie-Pitts matter, so pregnant Angie means another white Jolie-Pitt is on the way, who must be cared for differently from the nonwhite Jolie-Pitts. And so, Angie is a b*tch for putting her white unborn baby in harm’s way by going to Iraq.
Got it?
Thanks for all the threads on AJ trip to Iraq Just Jared. Thanks for the video links. It was inspiring and informative watching the CNN video. Thanks for all the articles, links and pictures. Peace to all.
She looks tired–I hope she doesn’t wear herself out. She’s so passionate and knowledgeable about this subject.
We love you, Angie!
awesome!!!!!!
CMAR
…since I’m not a native speaker, I’m not sure if you are being ironic with the white baby-important / non-white baby -who cares explanation in your post.
I see that most of the people critizicing the trip are of course people who don’t like AJ, and use every excuse for bashing, even in things that have a good objective, such as a humanitarian mission, where the point is to help the people who are in conflict zones.
I think that AJ is doing the right thing, if she is pregnant or not she made her choice to go and visit anyway. I’m sure that she knows and has witnessed how difficult are the lives of people in those war conditions , after natural disasters and such, nad therefore she feels that traveling while pregnant (if she is) is just something personal , that does not impede the mission. As AG points out, there are regnant women there too, is not freakin’ Mars or anything
BTW I’m a high school teacher in a 3rd world country we may have not all the services that in first countries people have, we have crime, etc. but seriously we talk about the recent problems tha the US has had in highschools and universities with shootings and hate crimes. No country is perfect, and there is a risk in everything we do. Even at home we can suffer life threatening accidents, so if part of your work involves traveling and the result of your work is such as good cause as this tht AJ does, for goodnes, why do not go? you would be helping people who have nothing not even a place to call home.
OMG, is she safe there? I hope so.
GOD BLESS THE JOLIE PITTS
Good job Angie, for going to Iraq, in the combat zone, with danger lurking around in every corner nothwithstanding.
Such a brave and selfless act for her to go on behalf of people, some of whom she will never know or meet. She’s a celebrity who puts her God-given talent to good use. She’s not preening on the red carpet for the photo op, going to every event just to be seen, nor shopping for the latest hot trend with price tags that equal some people’s monthly salary.
Angelina Jolie is a go-getter and powerhouse for the voiceless.
:O thank JJ
