Lucas Grabeel in a Dress!

Lucas Grabeel rocks out quite the ugly dress on the set of his new movie, Milk, in San Francisco, Calif. on Thursday.

Milk is a film about California’s first openly gay elected politician, Harvey Milk (Sean Penn). Grabeel, 23, will reportedly play Daniel Nicoletta, a clerk in Milk’s famed Castro Street camera store in San Francisco.

Here’s a little more backstory: Nicolette was Milk’s friend, employee and then eventually his City Hall Administrative Assistant. After Milk was assassinated, Nicoletta and other friends of the politician formed a group dedicated to preserving Milk’s legacy. Apart from keeping the memory of Milk alive, Nicoletta is also a well known photographer specializing in documenting the gay and lesbian community of San Francisco.

The real-life Nicoletta calls himself a “torch bearer of [Milk's] memory,” and said, “I’m just thrilled I’m alive to see this happening. There’s something epic about it being a feature film, because people respond to them so strongly in this culture.”

Corbin lucas and monique arent really as famous as them ive noticed like whenever they go to award shows all together zac always has Ashley and vanessa on his arm and there Turned away from the rest and then its always corbin monique and lucs together iTs weirdd haha.

He’s adorable. He and Zac are the only ones from HSM with any real future in acting anyway. And yepp, the real character wore dresses and is gay. Google “Dan Nicoletta” and you’ll see. He’s out and proud.

For all those that are commenting on Lucas and stating that he is gay you should know that he has had a girlfriend for sometime now. I love that everyone takes a look at him and the roles he plays and just assumes he is gay. I think the movie sounds interesting.

you are right. lucas is my favourite in HSM! Hope he goes far. he is such a good actor but he isnt very popular, which i dont understand!!!!!!!! he is a great actor, singer and dancer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucas Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#32 You know what? Stuff it, I’m tired of your snobbery. Acting in “High School Musical ” was NOT a crime and it does not make the rest of the cast untalented or idiots. If that was the case then Lucas is a total moron because guess what he’s signed on to do “HSM3″ just the rest of them.

As far as Lucas goes kudos to him for branching out and landing a role so different then what he’s done before. And I mean REALLY diffierent.

Hey! I live in SF and work at an office in the Castro [gay district of SF] and I walk by the Milk production all the time! It’s pretty crazy there with security and camera crews and everything. James Franco & Josh Brolin are in the movie as well. Harvey Milk is a SF and gay community icon. By the way that’s the Castro Theatre.
