OlderZac Efron Suits Up in Basketball Unform
Zac Efron sat down with Access Hollywood to chat about his upcoming film Seventeen, about an adult (Matthew Perry) who suddenly becomes a 17-year-old high school student (Zac). Here are some interview snippets:
On how close he was to not doing High School Musical 3: Oh gosh. No, seriously I am not going to be the guy who takes High School Musical away from all the fans. We owe everyone too much. High School Musical is a project I hold very close to my heart and I am going to complete the franchise.
On why he chose to star in Seventeen: It would have been really easy to go and play a kid. I could’ve done that in any movie. But playing a 37-year-old guy who is a kid is a little bit more interesting. It’s great when you have personal experience playing a character. For instance, High School Musical. It was pretty easy. I was playing a high school kid in his first love. Everyone has been there – I had just been there.”
On why he doesn’t talk about his personal life: “I think specifically relationships, it’s sacred ground. That’s something that needs to be between two people. Everyone else can get their noses out.”

I think that’s why you won’t ever see Zac and Vanessa pawing over each other in public as ’sacred’ in a relactionship also to me means that each partner respects the love and affection that they have, and the deeper those feelings go belong between the two people behind closed door’s just for them and not for the public to see.
Which could explain why neither Zac or Vanessa go over thetop with PDA and why should they when to me the look’s they share and the little things they do when they think no-one can see eg holding hands on set,whsipering to each other that’s all very loving gesture’s from a couple in love but anything like other celebraties might do just for the camer’s is a no go for them and well done to them after all it can’t be easy having a relactionship in the public eye when you know the camera’s are there ready to snap you in a second.
Zac has respect for women and relactionship’s and as he said everybody else can ‘ keep their noses’s out’ and to me that include’s the press let them and everybody else speculate on them as a couple but at the end of the day it’s the two people in that relactionship and how they cherish it is what count’s.

rosielee….totally agree.Zac’s attitude proves to me just how deep this relationship goes.Wish them only the very best and I’m sure they will cope well with being seperated,after all they’ve been there before and they will both be VERY busy.

I agree with you, Beverley. I really hope Zac gets to see V in Austin. It is so beautiful there and San Antonio is so romantic with the riverwalk and all. I read somewhere that V has Thurs. and Fri. ’s off while filming. Don’t know if this is true or not , but if it is she would have Valentine’s day and the next day off. :) Here’s hoping! I’m sure we wouldn’t see any pics unless they were from a fan. No paps down there. I would be happy with someone saying they saw them together. That would make my day.

Yea I’m fromm the UK and got into HSM along with my daughter when it was first shown over here so I’m not excatly a teenager but likemy daughter said it was nice to watch a film that was’nt full of sex and swearing, and I have always loved musical’s, we recently went to see High School Musical - The Ice Tour here in the UK and it was really good we both enjoyed it and the skaters were really good.
And as a mother it’s so nice to see a young man like Zac have so much respect with everyone he meets and especially in his relactionship with V and his feelings for her, it’s a pity that more young adults don’t have his morals and wanting to keep something so special between just the two people involved.
Like I have said before nobody know’s what the future holds and relactionship’s are no different but I hope that these two do make it long term becuase they have done a amazing job so far in dealing with a realctionship in a mature way with a lot of hassle and crap to deal with, but to me it has just made them stronger and they beleive in each other not what’s wrote about them which is a good job.
I’m sure they’re missing each other but they have been seperated before, but if Vanessa has got a few day’s off and depending when Zac starts filming in London maybe he will get to visit her.
And before we know it HSM3 will be filming so that will be nice for them to get together with their co-star’s although I can imagine a few tear’s as it will be the end of HSM as the fan’s know it with the original cast but I bet they’ll have one hell of a wrap party.

I’m in a similar situation to you…I live in the Midlands,Mom of 4,and got into HSM through my daughter.I’ve followed Z and V on and off since then,but more so since Hawaii.
Discovered JJ in September,but didn’t comment for ages.Now I do get involved much more.To me Z and V are just such a fantastic example of a young couple,I really admire them both.
Saw that you went to the ice show,how was it ???? I’m taking my daughter (she’s 9) to the stage show in March,hopefully we’ll both enjoy it.

Becky, he does say something before the “hello/ doin’ this guy a favor” part……..it’s hard to hear though.
I know it’s hard for us fans to not have recent pics of Vanessa, but we know she’s really enjoying being just herself for awhile! It’s giving her the time to prepare for her role everyday, and focus on what she needs to do. I think she knows how important this next non-DIsney movie is for her!
And as for Zac, well, he looks pretty happy with the way things are going for him right now, and actors know when they’re busy, they count their blessings! How many actors have 3 movies lined up in a row? I suspect the success of these movies is going to have everyone in Hollywood wanting a piece of him.

When Zac said that it easy in HSM, playing a highschool kid having his first love, then you hear him saying everyone has been there, and then he says I have just been there. I think he is talking about Vanessa.

I feel like there are a few things going on with Zac and Vanessa right now. Like, the interview Zac did, let’s face it, there wasn’t that much content on Seventeen Again in it. So, I think Zac and Vanessa —as one little new item said is not trying to hide their relationship anymore—are sensitive enough to each other’s feeling and to the feelings of their fans and they know that some unscrupulous people like National Enqurier, Star, and Okay magazine will take opportunities to start rumors about them now that they are going to be apart for a few weeks. They don’t want that to happen. So, whether or not the new heart-shaped ring story is true or not, it’s out there for the world to see. That way when someone reads a story that may come up in Star, etc, someone else will be able to say, “Well, I saw reports where he just got her a ring” or “I saw on Access Hollywood where he said…” I think it is a wise move on their part without being too revealing about their personal life together.
And people who don’t think that is needed or say it is for publicity, look at this very board. The last threads on both Zac and Vanessa, how many TIMES was it discussed that Vanessa was in Austin, Texas filming a movie, etc? And how many TIMES did someone ask the question, “where’s Vanessa? I hope Zac and Vanessa didn’t break up, or why haven’t we seen pics of Zanessa???? I think they (or their people) are trying to reach as many people as possible to be informative and keep the rumors at bay. However, some people will never listen—but somehow these same people will hear or read something negative and take it to heart and believe it.
But at any rate, it seem to me that Zac and Vanessa have come out more about their relationship since they saw they got positive response at his birthday celebrationand now since the Palm Springs event the world ought to know what their relationship is all about and they are trying to protect it against rumor and such.
That’s how I see it.
