OlderZac Efron Suits Up in Basketball Unform
Zac Efron sat down with Access Hollywood to chat about his upcoming film Seventeen, about an adult (Matthew Perry) who suddenly becomes a 17-year-old high school student (Zac). Here are some interview snippets:
On how close he was to not doing High School Musical 3: Oh gosh. No, seriously I am not going to be the guy who takes High School Musical away from all the fans. We owe everyone too much. High School Musical is a project I hold very close to my heart and I am going to complete the franchise.
On why he chose to star in Seventeen: It would have been really easy to go and play a kid. I could’ve done that in any movie. But playing a 37-year-old guy who is a kid is a little bit more interesting. It’s great when you have personal experience playing a character. For instance, High School Musical. It was pretty easy. I was playing a high school kid in his first love. Everyone has been there – I had just been there.”
On why he doesn’t talk about his personal life: “I think specifically relationships, it’s sacred ground. That’s something that needs to be between two people. Everyone else can get their noses out.”

Yea my daughter and I went to the Ice Show and it was really good it was split between HSM1 and HSM2 and the skater’s were just amazing with the move’s they did and the one who was playing Gabriella really looked like her, they were all good we would have gone to see it again but as we went on the saturday it finishedon the sunday as they had already extended it by another day, but if they another one on ice my daughter and I will definetly be there.
Chrissy how do you know that Vanessa lie’s to Zac all the time are with her 24/7 and as for Zac being better of with one of us that’s one fantasy of your’s that is never going to happen.
If you support Zac likemany of us true fans do then you would be happy that he has got someone in his life that make’s him happy and I’m sure that after 2 year’s plus if that had changed he’d be the first to know that and do something about it.Just be happy for him.

Looked at the recent video of Zac going to his car and one thought did come to me it could have been Vanessa he was talking to becuase if you think about it he’s not going to say ‘hey babe’ with the pap’s there and I loved how he asked for the camera toi be turned off I wonder why that was.
Not long until Valentine’s Day my youngest son is driving me nuts as it’s his birthdfayon that day and he keeps bugginge me asking me what we are doing for it.
I hope that Zac and Vanessa have a nice VD even though they are apart, I’m sure that contact will be made somehow.
There’s a new video of Zac leaving L.A. this sunday at LAX airport and talking to fans, he got asked if he was going to New Zealand but did’nt answer but he did whisper to the one person where he was going and wherever it was it brought a big smile to his face.
Vanessa’s name got mentioned by the one reporter but you can’t make out what else, but you can hear Zac say when asked by one reporter about answering questions that Zac say’s no, but good for him especially if he is going to see Vanessa which I’m not saying that he is,but he did’nt look to happy with the photographer.
So I doubt that we will see many picture’s of Zac in L.A. for a while now.
I hope that he and Vanessa do get a few day’s together away from the pap’sa before Zac has to go away again and start his next film, they like any other couple deserve some quality time togerther in their hetic lifestyles.
He’s on his way to London to film Orson Wells…. and he told woman he would be there for a while. He’s not wearing his ring again and he hasn’t been wearing it for the past few times he’s been out/photographed. I don’t understand how some of you think that is not a big deal, when you were probably the ones making the fact that they wear commitment rings, such a big deal in the first place. Something with their relationship isn’t right.
It’s also very strange that Vanessa hasn’t been photographed (not at ALL) for weeks. Even if she is Texas, there would be news, or pictures of her or something. Her “people” obviously tip off the paps if she has gone from being photographed almost daily, to absolutely nothing.

I just think that from when we found out about Zac and Vanessa that certain people can’t seem to grasp the concept that allbecuase they enetered into a relactionship young that 1. They don’t know their own minds. 2. Zac can’t decided who and what make’s him happy and needs to betold. and 3.That these two young people are in love with each other.
It’s not such a hard concept to grasp and like I’ve said if your a true fan you would’nt be nasty about either of these two young adults who can handle a relactionship under the microscope, you would just be happy for them.

#304 The reason why Vanessa has not been photographed for weeks is because she’s been in Austin which isn’t a “show biz” town. So no paps its that simple. A couple of years Josh Hartnett was in Spokane, Washington where I live filming a movie called “Mozart and the Whale” and guess what there were no pictures of him in the paper every day.
So I don’t find it odd at all that there no pictures. As far as the rings VERY FEW of us make a big deal out of the rings. Most of us know the state of their relationship does not hinge on whether or not one of them is wearing the ring on any given day.

Nobody know’s what is the situation in their relactionship, as Zac said relactionship’s are ’sacred’ and between the two people,sure we can speculate but that’s all.
I watched the video and I could’nt see weather he had his ring on or not as even when he was rubbing his hands togther the hand that Zac does wear the ring on you could’nt clearly see. So he could have had it on or he could’nt. But if he was on his way to London to start filming Orson then perhaps he decided to leave it off like he normally does when he’s filming.
And Vanessa is in Texas filming her film, not every country is like L.A. and have the pap’s follow every move that the star’s make so it’s not that big of a deal that we have’nt had any picture’s of Vanessa, London is the same you don’t see many picture’s of star’s doing mundane things. And we did’nt get that many picture’s of Zac when he was doing 17 it’s only been the last couple of weeks that we have had a few picture’s and video’s here and there. If Vanessa’s film is a closed set then fair enough.
The thing is to about the rings if we did get picture’s of Vanessa and she was’nt wearing her’s then that would be made a big deal off but when your working on a set I for one would’nt want to risk losing it during a scene or even a costume change, I recently lost a ring off my finger I never even felt it come off and have no idea where it is. But I am sure that Zac’s ring will reappear.
And yes they do wear rings but all becuase one person is’nt does’nt mean that there is trouble between them. Up until went into hospital he was wearing his ring and no doubt had to take it off for surgery and like it’s been said maybe it’s gone a bit loose so rather than risk losing it he has chose to leave it off.
Does anyone know when Zac does start filming Orson?

I just don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to accept that there are no pictures of Zac and Vanessa because thay are WORKING.
As far as we know Vanessa left for Austin 3 weeks ago,just after the last Zanessa thread.They were fine that weekend.There are no pics of any of the cast of Will because there are NO paps in Austin.
Zac has been finishing off filming inLA and has now left for London to start his next film.
This is what they do,its all part of the job.They have been apart before,and will be again.It DOESN’T mean that there is anything wrong in their relationship.
We all know that for the next 2 months ,there will be endless rumours and gossip ,because there will be no real news/pics of them together to show.
If you are a real fan of either Zac or Vanessa,or just the two of them as a couple,just ‘keep the faith’ and lets all just wait and see………
hey! on the ring thing … zac has not been wearing his since the appendix incident, but he was wearing it all the time right before and he and vanessa have been photographed since and all seemed fine … the only time i thought it was strange he wasn’t wearing it was at the SAG’s … who knows… i doubt vanessa is wearing hers right now b/c of filming… zac’s ring could be like my husband’s wedding ring … lost somewhere! typical guys!
Long distance relactionships take a lot of commitment and beleive in each other and Zac and Vanessa have proved it in the past that they have that.
Asyou say Beverley it’s their job they know that they can’t always be with each other every day but they take the time to communicate Zac has virtually said as much ‘when two people know how to communicate the chemistry will always be there’ without even saying Vanessa’s name you know that’s who he was talking about.
And again the rumours and gossip has started but lucky for Zac and Vanessa they seem to have the trust and belife in each other not to take any notice of what’s wrote about them either seperate or as a couple.
What do you want to bet that once they start doing HSM3 and all the promotion work will come the comments again,it’s all for publicity, they’re only together because Disney told them to act like a couple, they’re not really together, it seems never ending.
As you say beverley there hasno picture’s,photo’s or info on any members of the cast of the film apart from what they want to release to the public which is right, after all they are all just doing their job why should we get constant 24/7 info about it.
I don’t think that there is any problems between Zac and Vanessa and even if there was we won’t hear about it only the gossip and untruths that are printed by the various rag’s and I’ve learnt to take them with a big pinch of salt.
Every true Zac and Vanessa fan should ‘keep the faith’ as you say beverley.

i think if something had happened, ie. breakup .. either of their publicists would confirm it to people/us/access hollywood etc but would say nothing further than they had split and to please respect their privacy..

You are so right . If we are true fans of either, just keep the faith and come what may, we’ll support them and hsm 3 will still go ahead. Too much exposure can really destroy a relationship. I personally feel this is a good break for the both of them away from the paps. This is also a good test for their relationship,if it is solid enough what’s a separation of 2 or 3 months?! It would make their reunion all the sweeter, besides there’s the blackberry, skype & whatever technology has provided for them to keep in touch sans the phlysical presence.
Hope your girl is recovering from her cold. It’s nasty to have one at a time like this. Lots of juice and hot drinks for her. Has she been to the doc’s?
Perhaps we need to examine the facts once again. But first and foremost I want to point out that I’m not surprised that Zac would be upset about the Vanessa qustion. Just like he said in the interview on this very thread, it is sacred ground, it should be between two people and EVERYONE else should keep their noses out. He has NEVER answered questions about Vanessa, why would anyone—including the paps—think he would do it now? They know what is going on and to them that’s all that matters.
So once again the facts:
1. Within the first 10 days of January they go to the Palm Springs film festival together looking very romantic. AND they walk the red carpet together which says a great deal in Hollywood terms. Everyone is wearing the rings.
2 Less than 10 days later Zac is rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night—by who, you ask?—it’s been reported that Vanessa and Zac’s mom were the people who took him to the hospital. This was January 14—all is apparently well with Zac and Vanessa.
3. A couple days after Zac’s release from the hospital we have pics of Zac, Vanessa, and Ashley together going to Paty’s. It is obvious how elated Vanessa is that Zac is with them and is OK. They both even sit in the back seat together of Ashley’s car. Zac does not have his ring on BUT Vanessa does.
4. That next weekend we have pics of Vanessa and Zac together at leaving someone’s house. They seem fine—no ring on Zac but Vanessa still has hers.
5. Vanessa was reported to have left for Austin—several hundred miles from LA—on either the Sunday or Monday after the pics of them together were shown here on JJ. A pic that was shown of Vanessa that was suppose to be taken at that time shows her with her ring on. But even it the pic was not from that day, does it make sense that on Saturday—heck the whole previous week—Zac and Vanessa were together and suddenly when she leaves for Texas they say “Well, let’s break up now????” Just last week there was a report that Vanessa was at some place in Austin but wasn’t taking much notice of what was going on there since she was off talking on her phone…
6. We then have the reports cirrculating around about a new ring that Zac was suppose to have gotten for Vanessa. True or false? We have not seen any reports disputing that claim. It was reported he gave it to her at the end of January which may mean he gave it to her before she left for Texas. Perhpas they didn’t mind this report because it was saying “We are OK, we are still together” but being the private people they are they are not going to come out and speak of it to the press.
7. Then we have this interview with Access Hollywood where Zac admits to his love—-as much as you people are going to get from this guy I can assure you. I also think this was to confirm their relationship standing as they knew they would be away from each other for several weeks and they know how the ragazines will want to have a field day with that.
Lastly, about the whole ring situation: Here are some random thoughts about that. IF Zac got Vanessa another ring maybe they are moving away from the other rings. MAYBE they are trying to get everyone away from looking at that aspect and judging their relationship by if they are wearing them or not. They are both working and filming new movies which they cannot wear those rings while filming.
ALSO, here’s what could have happened: Zac lost his ring. He has confirmed he has lost rings before on sets where he was working. He told the girl who runs Zefron that he has lost rings and she is in personal contact with this boy. It was reported by some tabloids that Zac had been sick for a week before he went to the hospital. Perhpas he had taken the ring off while filming, went home sick on the day of the night when he was taken to the hospital and had forgetten the ring because by then he was SO sick. Once he got back to the set it was missing. We don’t know and it is highly unlikely Zac will say he lost that particular ring as it falls under the “keeping their noses out” catagory. But maybe it will show back up once their filming is all over. We will have to wait and see.
Once other thing: these two were named within the top 10 power couples of ‘07. I believe IF they decided to call it quits it would require a statement just like if Brad and Angelina or Tom and Katie were to split. But after the AH interview and Zac and Vanessa’s last pictures together, I seriously doubt they have gone their separeate ways. Just doesn’t add up or make sense. There are too many holes in the theory that we haven’t had pics of them together for a couple weeks so that means they are not together anymore. There are cold hard facts to dispute that reasoning, folks.
Does anyone know what the question was that the photographer asked him to do with Vanessa?

Or personally I just think that obvioulsy Zac is missing her after all from January until March not to see your girlfriend/boyfriend in any relactionship would be hard.
But these day’s technology is a great thing so hopefully they do keep in touch somehow. I’m sure that they have been apart for about this time before what with Vanessa doing the HSM tour and Zac doing Hairspray,mind you with some parts of HS Vanessa waswith Zac we just did’nt see her and also she was’nt doing a film at that time, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that all is well in the Zanessa camp.
I love itthough when Zac does give reporter’s the dagger look when something get’s said either to Vanessa or about Vanessa the look is kinda saying ‘don’t go there’ it’s such a protective gesture on his part without having to actually say anything.
My daughter get’s the Sun newspaper everyday so I’ll keep a lookout for any Zac spotting.

I think the photographer said ‘where’s Vanessa,Zac’ or something like that.Either way,Zac didn’t look happy .He just hates those x17 guys.Can’t blame him.

It is clear, concise and puts everything into perspective.
Given the paranoia that appears to be sweeping through about the ongoing relationship I hope you bring it back on more than one occasion when the need arises.
Zac is so young, he is growing like an actor, and this is the most important for you, all the Zac’s fans. If he´s with Vanessa or not, that´s not ours bussiness. It´s very difficult to ever couple in the world, keepping a relationship without trouble, or be together for a long time. If you always say that Zac is a normal guy ( like he is) understand that if he finished with Vanessa not be dissapoint, it´s his choice, it´s so normal.
I’m no a teenager, i’m 37 years old, and have two kids, so, think if Zac can act like a concentrate boy, being professional and integraty, it´s a good example for you, all young people.

Amelia25 (btw, I love that name… so vintage!) You make a great point. We support Vanessa and Zac as individuals. I try and prepare myself if and when they do. I would like for them to stay together. But I know that, it may not be the case. Either way, I’ll always be a fan of both stars.
With that being said, Karen, your point is very strong. I admire your realness… it doesn’t make sense that they have not broken up. You make good reasons why they would still be together. I think he lost the ring to be honest… most people usually do. I’ve lost a very valuable bracelet that my mom gave me… I was careless with it.
Like I say I don’t blame Zac for not answering the question the look say’s it all, and x17 beleive it seems in getting right in their face’s and that’s gotta be annoying for anyone.

Quite agree anybody in a relactionship never have it plain sailing there are always up’ and down’s but unlike us Zac and Vanessa arein the spotlight which is a added burden if you like becuase you know that the press are waiting for you to break up or even just slip up so they can get their next story.
They have showed such strenght,compassion and trust in each other for such a young couple and beleive in keeping the relactionship as much out of the public eye as possible and working on it behind closed doors, good for them.
And as most of us know who follow them neither go blabbing to the press about each other and I can’t see why that would suddenly change and to be honest I for one would’nt want it to.
So, can we assume that Zac is headed to the Isle of Man first? Or will he be filming in London before going there? Here is the theater they will be filming the Julius Caesar scenes in. I’m assuming this will represent the Mercury Theater?
