OlderZac Efron Suits Up in Basketball Unform
Zac Efron sat down with Access Hollywood to chat about his upcoming film Seventeen, about an adult (Matthew Perry) who suddenly becomes a 17-year-old high school student (Zac). Here are some interview snippets:
On how close he was to not doing High School Musical 3: Oh gosh. No, seriously I am not going to be the guy who takes High School Musical away from all the fans. We owe everyone too much. High School Musical is a project I hold very close to my heart and I am going to complete the franchise.
On why he chose to star in Seventeen: It would have been really easy to go and play a kid. I could’ve done that in any movie. But playing a 37-year-old guy who is a kid is a little bit more interesting. It’s great when you have personal experience playing a character. For instance, High School Musical. It was pretty easy. I was playing a high school kid in his first love. Everyone has been there – I had just been there.”
On why he doesn’t talk about his personal life: “I think specifically relationships, it’s sacred ground. That’s something that needs to be between two people. Everyone else can get their noses out.”

Greg#75 It’s all abt grammar. He was referring to the movie in the past tense, so it was grammatically right to say that he had just been there, remember he met Vanessa at the auditions and it went on from there. So when he was doing the movie he was in the throws of his first true love, ie Vanessa.

Withdrawal symptoms,huh kim, well I used to get horrific migraines so much so had to visit the doc for a painkiller jab. But, touch wood, lately it does seem to have subsided, for what reason, heaven knows, could be hormone related or tension, still no clue.

Hmmm . . . . Greg, I think you understood the statement perfectly well. Wow, talk about turning something positive into a negative. Zac had just been in his first love right before he started HSM. He met Vanessa at the first HSM audition. That was over two and a half years ago. They are still in the relationship. Why would you think they broke up before they started the first HSM movie?
OMG! zac is amazing….and i love he won’t back down on something he started and that he cares about the fans! can’t wait to see this movie!!!
I am watching my niece tomorrow night, and vegetating on Sunday. Might take in a movie.

i think the fact that he used the word “sacred” is very powerful and speaks volumes about the kind of person he is and how he values his relationship with vanessa.
For those who think they broke up, you dont call your relationship “sacred” and then make “the zac smirk” when telling people to butt out.
He is an amazing guy and people who cant see that, really need to take off their blinders.
Interesting that the interviewer understood what Zac meant:
“Surely the first love Zac refers to would be his on-screen/off-screen sweetheart Vanessa Hudgens.”
forgot to answer yr quest, am doing fine now. It’s all quiet now, had a house full of in laws & families for 2 solid days. Am taking Cass to buy a pair of sunglasses.Am told the UV rays in Australia are extremely bad, so she needs them as she has a good 20 min walk to her building.

What I meant to say in my post earlier to Narf was that Tylanol wasn’t cutting it. I knew caffiene was a drug and all, but honestly didn’t realize it was strong enough cause withdrawal symtoms.

No big plans, my sister and I are thinking about seeing the Jessica Alba movie The Eye. Jessica kinda disappointed me when she made that remark about Zac so I’m not as interested in seeing it as much as my sis.
I love vegetating…hope to do some of that myself. How old is your niece?
Kim, excedrine Migraine works wonders because it is basically Tylenol with aspirn and caffiene added.
Don’t worry, it only has 65mg od caffiene, (about half a cup of coffee).
