OlderZac Efron Suits Up in Basketball Unform
Zac Efron sat down with Access Hollywood to chat about his upcoming film Seventeen, about an adult (Matthew Perry) who suddenly becomes a 17-year-old high school student (Zac). Here are some interview snippets:
On how close he was to not doing High School Musical 3: Oh gosh. No, seriously I am not going to be the guy who takes High School Musical away from all the fans. We owe everyone too much. High School Musical is a project I hold very close to my heart and I am going to complete the franchise.
On why he chose to star in Seventeen: It would have been really easy to go and play a kid. I could’ve done that in any movie. But playing a 37-year-old guy who is a kid is a little bit more interesting. It’s great when you have personal experience playing a character. For instance, High School Musical. It was pretty easy. I was playing a high school kid in his first love. Everyone has been there – I had just been there.”
On why he doesn’t talk about his personal life: “I think specifically relationships, it’s sacred ground. That’s something that needs to be between two people. Everyone else can get their noses out.”

I personal don’t want to be too into his personal life, like he just said, people should stop potting in, in his personal life. if he is in love with vanessa, then thats his problem and we as fans should be happy for him. if they broke up, we should understand that most love in hollywood does not last long, and I guess they weren’t in love as they used to be.The most important thing here is that all the HSM cast are happy,health, and are going on with there careers.We should all be proud and appriative of the things they have done, for us. Maybe not us but our kids,younger siblings and showing us life can be good if you are determined to make it good.These young adultrs are good rolemodels, and even if they have done bad somethings in the past, that doen’t mean we should give up on them.

LOL, I believe you jb. Fortunately my dog prevents that from happening. He does not let a morsal of food escape him. Yet as active as he is, he is pretty fit.

Zac is just so cute in the Access Hollywood video. I just love how loyal he is to his work and Vanessa. I agree , he should keep his private life sacred. The world knows a lot about these two already, but what they do in their private lives should be kept just between them. We really don’t need to know personal details unless they are comfortable sharing them, like the times we see them at events or in practices or on set . I’m sure they are very careful after Hawaii , not to let the paps see too much. They were both quoted as saying they were shocked that their private ,vacation pictures were posted all over for the world to see, and that the pap who took the photos left Zac a note saying he would now have enough $ from the photos he took in Hawaii, to buy a Range Rover. Kind of creepy and sad at the same time. I don’t blame them a bit for trying to keep private things private.
Can’t wait for Seventeen to come out. Looks like a great movie.

I have been slowly gaining respect for zac efron since hairspray, and 17 has helped also.
But to be honest, the only person I am looking forward to see in this movie is Matthew Perry.
What a great kid! He seriously will go far, with that great attitude, honesty, being true to himself esp about personal stuff…Keep it up Zac! Good luck on the movie!
