Keira Knightley keeps it classy in a tiered Valentino column gown at the Orange British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA Awards 2008) at the Royal Opera House in London on Sunday.
Keira, 22, is nominated for Best Leading Actress for her work in Atonement. Other contenders for the title include Cate Blanchett (Elizabeth: The Golden Age), Julie Christie (Away From Her), Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose) and Ellen Page (Juno).
UPDATE: Keira lost out to Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose) but Atonement took home the award for Best Picture.

I like her, she’s not fake and full of herself like other actresses of her generation. She’s not drop dead gorgeous, but she has character, has something that’s unique. I betcha Lindsay Lohan looks at Kiera’s career and cries, Kiera seems to concentrate on the acting and not so much the limelight. Other actresses should take her cue.

She is very beautiful and the dress is lovely.I don’t mean to criticize her, but she is a tad bit underweight..you can tell by the side shot of her…her shoulder blades are very prominent..I would hate to be in Hollywood…everyone is so afraid to eat for fear that some dumb critic will say they are fat. The dress is by Chanel, I think. It really looks like Chanel style, and furthermore, she wears almost everytime Chanel.
The Dress is absolutely gorgeous…but she’s not pretty at all, her head looks too big for her body here & her hair is aweful, she’s just too skinny….She can’t act either!

I have to say, I’m glad she didn’t win the BAFTA. In my whole life never have I seen a performance like Marion Cotillard in La Vi en Rose. It was simply stunning

Keira - have a sandwich, honey. Another 10 lbs and you would be an extremely beautiful woman. She has great bone structure but her hair is always awful and detracts from her potential. As it is, she looks like she is starving.
She is a good actress but not great. I loved “Atonement” but she didn’t even come near the performance that James McAvoy gave. He got robbed and should have been nominated. He is fantastic
the dress is beautiful but it doesnt look ‘wow’ on her…the colour is way too light for her skin tone and its silhouette on keira looks wrong…almost anorexic. otherwise, she looked vey pretty. im glad marion won, keira’s performance was averaged. atonement on the whole was great but keira was overrated there.

You are right. She is gorgeous, and smart. You look at her, Natalie Portman, and Scarlett Johanson and you know that they are the real actresses of their generation, not the partyers or wannabes.
That is why Lohan is jealous of her. She was playing adult roles very early on.
You look at Bend it Like Beckham, the only time she’s been a teenager, and she was lean then, too. She just has that build but she’s not starving herself.

She rubs me the wrong way. The way she manages to come off as whiny in most of her interviews. I mean, yeah, it’s great, she doesn’t flash her crotch in candids. But…. I mean, is comparing her to Lohan really much? That girl is a trainwreck.
I’m glad, at least, that Keira has gotten herself together as an actress. The crappy “epics” like the POTC sequels and King Arthur, the weak “”edgy” films like The Jacket and Domino, the forgettable “love stories” like Love, Actually and Silk. *Jesus*. Most of those don’t even offer good roles, and she’s not a strong enough actress to turn something out of nothing. But she seems to be making good decisions these days, so good for her.
As for the dress, it makes her look like a tacky Las Vegas mermaid with no tail. And the hair and makeup makes her look like the dysentery is about to take her to Jesus.
