Roy Scheider Dies at Age 75
Two-time Oscar nominee Roy Scheider died Sunday at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was 75.
The hospital did not release a cause of death. Wikipedia “reports” he died of complications from a staph infection. Scheider had been treated for multiple myeloma at the hospital’s Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy for the past two years.
Scheider is best known for his roles as a police chief in the blockbuster movie Jaws and captain Nathan Bridger of the eponymous high-tech submarine SeaQuest DSV.
RIP.

RIP.
Great actor.
Loved this man. Excellent actor — he will be missed.
My Condolences to Mr. Scheider’s family. He was a great actor. I own a copy of JAWS and he made the movie, when he left the sequels were awful. Of course he was great in many films like The Poet, tv’s Law & Order, Last Chance, Dracula II, and Dracula III, he will be missed.
damn that’s fcuked up. i watch jaws all the time, no one kills sharks like police chief martin brody.

now this man’s life needs to be celebrated and remembered including our soldiers in Iraq not the losers in Hollywood.
I’m sure he’ll want to be remembered for better movies like All That Jazz.
” I think you are going to need a bigger boat” 20 years plus later still remember those words RIP Roy and thanks for fantastic childhood memories, my sympathy to family and friends
