It’s Official — The Writers Strike is Over
The writers strike is officially over. Wahoo!
The Writers Guild of America lifted the strike a bit before 7p.m. PST.
“The strike is over,” WGA West president Patric Verrone said. “Our membership has voted, and writers can go back to work. This was not a strike we wanted, but one we had to conduct in order to win jurisdiction and establish appropriate residuals for writing in new media and on the Internet. Those advances now give us a foothold in the digital age. Rather than being shut out of the future of content creation and delivery, writers will lead the way as TV migrates to the Internet and platforms for new media are developed.”

This is such an awesome news! Words cannot express the way I feel right now, I am so glad! I can’t wait for the writers of SUPERNATURAL, LOST, SMALLVILLE, ONE TREE HILL, UGLY BETTY, CHUCK, PUSHING DAISIES and THE SIMPSONS to return back to the pencils and get cracking on some wicked storylines!!

I was starting to miss my favorite shows (especially Ugly Betty). Despite the sacrifice in number of episodes, I’m glad that the writers stood by their principles and got what they wanted (despite people being out of work and the effect its had on LA’s economy).

Thank God it’s finally official. Now hopefully we’ll get at least a few more episodes of “Lost”. Reportedly there’s a possiblity of six more episdoes I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Too bad the actors strike is going to start later this year…
yeah, i heard about that. their contract expires in june but at least our tv shows won’t be affected as much since they all have to finish shooting before april now.
i think the movies will be affected more so and if it carries on till august/september then our tv shows may get affected…
LOST will have a total of 13 episodes this season. There will be a break between segments of 6 weeks (They will run the first seven, then the 6 week break, then will finish with the remaining 6 episodes). But I don’t care as long as I get my FIX!!!
