Kate looks beautiful. Her skin is flawless and healthy rather than puffy and botoxed. She does have long hands, which is expected being that she is 5′10. I do not think they are manly hands (they are very slender and pretty). Kate has actually joked about her hands calling them ‘peasant hands’. I like her hands because they are capable looking hands. I think Kate would look rediculous with puny, anorexic hands. She’s too cool and smart for that.

The Private Practice premiere in Germany beat the season premieres of Desperate Housewives, and Grey’s Anatomy in the demo! All premiered the same night, Private Practice was the last in the lineup, and won the night. Yay!

IS it only me or didn’t Kate Walsh seem the least likely to get her own show from the Grey’s bunch. I mean seriously, when she first came on to the show her look wasn’t that great and the character seemed only temporary, and now she’s is sought after lady looking better and better everytime. She’s a perfect example of how the least likely person to succeed among those like McDreamy (who in my opinion isnt even close to that) actually did, and almost effortlessly.
I wonder what the secret is?

#53 - The secret is talent. Addison was one (if not the) most popular Greys characters ever & Kate had great chemistry with all the cast - fans ship Addison with every guy she ever said hello to !
As the show runner Marti Noxon said there was buzz about Kate in the industry for years & she has always worked solidly on other shows. Greys just gave her the chance to shine. She’s the only one who could land the spin-off - Kate is the leading lady & star, unlike Greys supposed leading lady who is widely seen as the weakest character & actress on that show.
And I’m on agreement that McDreamy aint McDreamy at all. It doesn’t help that Patrick Dempsey can’t act to save his life. His pretty face got him his role lol.

Yup, Addison was the only reason I watched Grey’s Anatomy as well. I watched GA since the first season, and was bored til Addison came. She was the only reason I continued to watch. I hated Meredith Grey and cant stand McDouchebag. Addison is the best! Kate Walsh is fantastic and the best leading lady. I love Private Practice.
IMO GA sucks, Private Practice isn’t that great but I still like Kate Walsh.
#62 Think About it. PrP is the spinnoff of GA. Yes, GA gets higher ratings, but it has also been on for 4 years. Of those 13 million who watch PrP, they are all Addison fans. Of those 18 million who watch GA, they watch for various different reasons, esp with a cast of 11/12 or whatever. So, actually yea, Addison was very very popular. She was the perfect choice for the spinnoff.
Forgot to say. Congrats to Private Practice for beating Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives premiere in the ratings in Germany.
I agree with Jamie. #62 - Greys is very much an ensemble cast, & a lot of people HATE some characters with a vengence. Greys had it’s peak in Season 2, it’s been downhill since.
Whilst PrP is an ensemble too, it has a smaller cast, but Kate is firmly the face, star & PR point for the show, more so than anyone on Greys. She is the only actress who could carry her own show. And it’s still the number 1 new show this year which says everything.
I don’t want PrP to reach Greys ratings cos then it merely reduces itself to soap opera storylines to attract ratings (ie. Gizzie) & random hook-ups.
Kate left Greys at the right time. Good for her !

Kate rocks Private Practice. I always loved Addison along with Christina, Izzie, Alex, and George. She is a great actress. Also stole the show, even with few scenes in GA. I was very pleased she got her own show, totally deserved. She is a stunning woman.

This woman is so naturally beautiful, I can’t even imagine what it would be like to see her in person. It must be electrifying. The simpler the dress, makeup, hair and accessories, the more her beauty is highlighted and the focus is on her, not the “costumes.” I wish she was around when I was a young girl to have been my role model as a strong, independent woman, but she’s my role model today anyway. The fact that she seems like an intelligent, very funny, accomplished talent and decent real person makes her my Hero.

#80-I have never seen Kate in person, but a relation of mine has. According to this person, Kate is beautiful (both inside and out). She is very natural looking too. She looks her age, meaning there is no evidence of Botox, but her skin is very healthy and overall, she is very healthy and beautiful.

Good point about the numbers and the fact that virtually all PrP viewers are Addison fans, Jamie. I watched GA from the beginning, but I didn’t begin to eat, sleep, and breathe it until I started really getting into the character of Addison. There is nothing in me that identifies with her, but I find myself totally sympathizing with her, and when Alex said, “You’re not my girlfriend,” I literally hurt for her. Addison is a terrific character and Kate an incredible actress, and I too find the two GA leads less than attractive and less than interesting.
I’m not surprised the German premiere of Private Practice got higher ratings than both Greys & Desperate Housewives premieres - Addie has to be the most popular character here in Europe. She is beautiful, funny, ironic & intelligent, unlike the whiny Greys lead who is universally hated !

I dunno if you are aware of this, but it is not Jared who takes the pics, he gets them from image agencies like bauer, pcn, etc, so I am going to jump in and defend Jared, here because I can tell you that up until those LAX airport candids from yesterday (and those were taken late last night) there have been no new candids, the paparazzi don’t follow her all the live long day ya know.
So really maybe you should go begging at the source, the image agencies themselves and not Jared, just a suggestion.
