America Ferrera @ NAACP Awards 2008
America Ferrera is a vision in a baby blue Marchesa gown at the 2008 NAACP Image Awards held at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on Thursday.
Actors Jurnee Smollett and Denzel Whitaker presented America, 23, with the award for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her outstanding work in Ugly Betty. Costar Vanessa Williams won Best Supporting Actress.
Congrats, America!
America and Hill Harper also presented Janet Jackson with the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture award for Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married.

Denzel Whitaker is a wonderful young actor who starred in great debaters. His mother was lookingor a “D” name and came up with denzel and he just happened to have “whitaker” as a last name. cool name. great movie.

She really gets on my nerves. She talked about how women should love their bodies and enjoy curves and then the a few months later she’s lost a ton of weight. Way to stick to your message.

Yeah Jared, where are the pictures of Brad and Angelina. No pics of Stevie Wonder, either, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame and Aretha Franklin who was honored. Great show. I watched it all.
her body looks great and her dress is pretty but her hair style does not match the outfut. I think it would have looked better pulled back or in a bun or something. Besides her hair down looks a bit messy like how Scarlett’s was messed up. love her though.

Kamila - I thought D Washington was the one who gave America her award, that’s why I said it. I didn’t watch the actual telecast, but someone who did said it was him. It’s cool she won an award, but Vanessa Williams and Becky Newton were the real gems of Ugly Betty this season and last.

You know why she looks so good? She isn’t doing that stupid over-the-shoulder poses that stylists teach starlets to do. America is natural and just herself.
