Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon play it shy, hiding their faces from paparazzi while enjoying a post-Valentine’s date night out in Los Angeles on Friday.

agree with hugh, don and mimi - jake is well on his way to becoming the new tom cruise - maker of bland movies and manipulator of the media by marrying “sweetheart” actresses to mask his homosexuality. he’s just following the pattern set by valentino, travolta, richard gere and others.
also agree with don’s theory about jake’s “best friend” remaining single. it’s well known that jake spent the night with austin in new york city while appearing on letterman just last fall…well after he was supposedly “in love” with reese.
jake is living his own brokeback with austin…only needlessly. this isn’t 1963 rural middle america. gay men don’t have to hide behind wives and step-children in larry craig-style marriages anymore. grow up and be men, jake and austin. come out and be an example to others.

Yes like Jake but she is dull and together they are make a boring couple. He never looks that happy, well in the Rome photos but all the ones of him and Kirsten they both seemed so happy and maybe first REAL love. Also, why hide your face they know it’s you they will take the photo so just get over it, almost as bad as the big handbag in the face. Wow some of you non Americans should learn English because you sound very ignorant. Compared to a lot of actors Jake is not spoiled or girly. And the “dog” comments are really nasty. But coming from some of the people here, like Don, then it isn’t surprising.
Hey the dog comments weren’t nasty; they were funny. I mean if Jake can do it with Heath, why not with Atticus? Atticus is a bit hairy though. People like Jake MAY be nice people in reality, but they sell their image for money and consequently cannot control it. It is like a Barbie doll; once sold the buyer can do whatever she wants with it. Likewise Jake’s persona. He sells it for money; he can’t control it. That is why you don’t see actors suing anybody for what is said about them. As public people they have no “right to privacy.”
We´ve never known if stars like Jake, Tom Cruise, Leonardo di Caprio, John Travolta and others are really gay.
One thing is sure I mean, in Hollywood, an actor gorgeous and young always will be gay to midia!

Hey Jake is PROBABLY a nice guy, but since we don’t really know him in the flesh, we can’t be certain. His media persona is of a nice, normal, upper class American guy who laughs a lot and has a good sense of humor. He is a good actor, but not great. His best performances have been in The Good Girl and in October Sky. Brokeback was good but not quite as good as those. His other performances are just so so. What is odd about him is that at his age instead of dating women younger who could mother his children he chooses to date an older woman who already has kids. Inquiring minds ask WHY?
