Jamie Lynn’s Baby Bump is Clear as Day
Jamie Lynn Spears shows off her clear-as-day baby bump as she fills up her gas tank back in her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana.
The 16-year-old Nickelodeon star (blue hoodie) was also seen shopping Saturday afternoon. Jamie picked up puppy “training pads” from Wal-Mart. Practicing for her first baby with her dog! Precious!
Earlier this week, Jamie Lynn and her baby’s daddy, Casey Aldridge, were recently photographed holding hands during a stroll in Kentwood.
In other Jamie Lynn news, Zoey 101 is averaging almost 2 million more viewers per episode since the star announced her pregnancy.

#31, how do you know Jamie Lynn wasn’t using birth control? Every condom box says clear as a bell that they are not 100% affective. And every information sheet for birth control pills says the same thing clear as a bell.

Yes, she is a courageous young teenager who doesn’t have a clue what is ahead of her. For any young women who are blogging here, take responsibility for your body and future by using birth control (yourself)….do not take risks with the chances of procreation! Get involved in friends, sports, reading, art, traveling, and place emphasis on a solid education so you can empower yourself in the world.
Parenting for even the mature (over 30 years) is filled with 24/7 sacrifice and tremendous commitment (until one’s children are finished with an undergraduate degree so they can enjoy a decent lifestyle). When there is maturity, parenting is an easier and a long-term rewarding experience if a woman has enjoyed her youth and, therefore, isn’t consumed by not being prepared for what is generally an overwhelming responsibility for a young and impatient person.
Roe vs. Wade is in place for situations just like this, i.e. a one time early first four to six weeks abortion in a safe environment, so a young person can go forward to mature, lead a different life than is ahead of this young girl, and later start a family at the appropriate time into a healthy marriage so as to give the incoming life the greatest of all opportunities and (when the offspring is an adult) win a very personal reward for having given society a great and productive citizen!
“Babies” are so sweet, cute, and cuddly but they do not remain babies very long and that’s when the real and serious work begins! Being physically taxed that first year is nothing as compared to the responsibility of being a great mother during the years ahead!

i went to labour when i was 26 weeks pregant Laura-Becca weigh 1lbs 3oz,it was touch and go for a while, soon i was allow t hold her i felt a rush of love and i knew i had to look after her
Now Laura-Becca is the most happiness toddler i would ask for she makes me happy when iam feeling down and loves her duddles(cuddles)

I find it slightly ironic that her parents are in California trying to “save” Britney who is an adult, but their 16-year-old is alone in Louisiana.

She’s not the first teen to get pregnant and she definitely won’t be the last. At least she’s trying to lead as normal of a life as possible by staying in Louisiana. Hopefully that and better parenting skills than her mom and sister combined will allow her to successfully raise her child.
It shocks and saddens me how hateful some people are. I’m sure all of you are perfect and you never make a single mistake. As narf (#31) stated, who’s to say they didn’t use birth control? Even if you use whatever method (or even more than one) correctly, there’s still a small risk of becoming pregnant. And any girl who’s ever been on the pill knows how easily you sometimes forget to take one, or how sickness may just cause it not to function.
However, I don’t agree with the “so what she’s 16 and pregnant, it’s not a big deal” comments. It IS a big deal, because it’s simply too young. The fact that it happens to a lot of girls who fail to take care of themselves is not an excuse. Nobody should have children before they’re ready, and NOBODY is ready at that age. You need to live a little before having a baby, because your life as you know it will be gone for at least 18 years. But I applaud Jamie (and all the anonymous teen moms) for being responsible and handling this with such maturity. She could have just quietly gotten an abortion. I wonder what all those haters would be saying then. The poor girl can’t win, and it’s not fair. Just give her a break.

Are you people for real? I can not believe some of the comments left here. In 1985 I got pregnant 3 months before my 17th birthday. I had my son in Jan. 1986. Not only did I become a mother, but went to the prom and I also graduate in the top 10% of my high school graduating class of 1986. I live in a town where our school system rates within the top 50% nationally of all schools for academics and students who achieve college degrees. My boyfriend also graduated from the same school. Not some back woods town where education is an option. I opted not to go to college as originally planned instead choosing to raise my son. My boyfriend at the time, who is 2yrs older, was in the Marine Corps and we didn’t know I was pregnant until I was more than half way through my first trimester. See, GUESS WHAT AMERICA - BC PILLS ARE NOT 100% EFFECTIVE. I was old enough to make the decision to take them daily, then I was old enough to make my decision about my unborn child. After numerous testing, to confirm there weren’t any apparent birth defects from the BC, I m made MY decision. With or without my boyfriends assistance, I was keeping MY baby. Long story short, my son is now 22 graduated from the same high school and had many of our teachers. He is soon to be graduating with a BA and already hired to work at a popular Radio Station in NYC effective 9/08, I have a Master’s Degree, an excellent job, 2 homes and yes I’m still with my boyfriend after 24 years who btw has a BA and owns his own business. We still live in this small town approx. 1 mile in either direction from from both, our parents and childhood homes. So before you continue to blast and critize Jamie Lynn, walk a mile in her shoes. It wasn’t easy for me, except I didn’t have media scrutiny, and it won’t be easy for her. Luckily/hopefully, she has a good support system. I commend her for her ability to make these life altering decisions at such an age. The bottom line, her life is her’s to live, you may not like it but how dare you say, “she should be ashamed”. Look at yourself, you should be ashamed to wish her any less than the best of luck.

the simple truth is that more 16 year olds have had sex than haven’t had sex. i bet most of the people reading this did the same thing. sometimes it does result in pregnancy. so, when a girl that has sex gets pregnant, it makes her a ****? but when she doesn’t get pregnant, there is no “evidence” that she had sex, so we can all just pretend it doesn’t happen? wow, females really still have a long way to go, unfortunately. btw, just because she happened to get pregnant, it should have nothing to do with her show. like all these girls want to get pregnant now because of her. whatever, that’s just dumb. my kids love her show, and they know the difference between fantasy and reality.

It’s just not natural in our day and age to be sixteen and pregnant. I think JL could very well follow in Britney’s footsteps. There are reports that she has been drinking, smoking having sex since she was 13 and that she is still partying. Britney was still somewhat normal when she was pregnant, she went berserk after giving birth. I could see JL following down the same path, especially when she is only 16 and there is mental illness in the family. She will be back partying while her mother raises the baby.

I was just reading your comments. I am a little surprised by how some people are vicious in their statements. Also, I do not think it is rare for a young teen mom to succeed. I have known plenty. My foster sister had her first child at 14 and she went one to graduate form college with 2 masters degrees.
Also, my family 3 years ago was also surprised by the news that my nephew at 14 became a father to his first child. The mother was 2 years older then him. I know you all are going to say it is different for the guys. My nephew took on a supporting role in his daughter’s life. Her mother works nights therefore she spends her evenings with her dad and her mother picks up in the morning before he goes to school. He works a part time job to help with the her needs. Also both sides of the family helps with money daycare etc.
All a child needs is love. Plus, Jamie Lynn is not a struggling teen mom. She is worth more then all of us put together. She has been working like an adult since she was 8 years old.
Give the kid a break just because her mother is a mess does not mean the sister is a mess.
Casey # 66 Yes, I had a great support system. Let me just say, ” I was not “active” at 14. I started taking BC Pills for a medical condition, when I was 13. By 16 I was up to an adult dosage to prevent an unintentioned pregnancy. As far as maturity goes, 2 whopping years is hardly an age difference. Age doe not necessarily make an individual mature nor does lack of age make someone immature. That being said, I moved out of my parents home to my own apartment, alone with my 2 year old, at 19. I never went back and I never received any public assistance. Knowing someone is dependent on you for EVERYTHING has a way of putting things in perspective. No drinking and driving, no drug and booze binges, I had responsibilities. I have never had an ounce of regret for my decision nor would I change or trade one day. All I wanted to say was, “her decisions are hers, her situation has nothing to do with bad parenting, Brits problems or her lack of maturity”. Being Sweet Sixteen and pregnant does not have to be the end of it all. I’m gonna catch a lot of bumps on the head for this but, “good thing she’s not rushing down aisle to apease the masses”.

my mom had me and brother when she was 17. now she has a loving family, great job, great house and is doing wonderfull. in 5 years none of you will remember she had a baby in very young age couse she will have wonderfull life with amazing baby! GO JL!
