Lindsay Lohan bares all and does her best Marilyn Monroe, recreating Monroe’s last (nude) photo shoot for New York Magazine.
In 1962, photographer Bert Stern shot Marilyn Monroe in “The Last Sitting” photo shoot and 46 years later, he revisited his classic shots with Lindsay Lohan. Here are some snippets from Lindsay’s interview with NY Mag:
On comparing Marilyn Monroe and Heath’s Ledger’s tragic deaths: “They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone… I don’t know. I’m not them. But I sure as hell wouldn’t let it happen to me.”
On posing nude: “I was comfortable with it… I didn’t have to put much thought into it. I mean, Bert Stern? Doing a Marilyn shoot? When is that ever going to come up? It’s really an honor.”
On the Monroe photos Lohan revisits: “Here is a woman who is giving herself to the public. She’s saying, ‘Look, you’ve taken a lot from me, so why don’t I give it to you myself.’ She’s taking control back.”

NY magazine is really reaching. These pictures are embarassing.
First, Heath Ledger did not commit suicide. Ms. Lohan might want to crack open a newspaper once in awhile. To compare the two in any way, sounds ignorant.
Second, the photos being emulated were of Marilyn Monroe at about 35-36 years old. How old is Lindsey now? MUCH younger than 36–and she certainly looks older than 36 in these pictures.
Also, the biggest reason these pics don’t work is Lohan certainly doesn’t come near Monroe’s charisma or star power. The Stern photos have been done and done much better.
This is embarassing for the Lohan “team” and NY mag…they all come out looking ridiculous. Bad choice.

Lohan actually look OLDER than Marilyn did at the time of these photos. Lohan is a pretty girl, but she looks so beat and so used for someone who’s only in their early twenties. Marilyn was 36 at the time of the Stern photos, and she still looked fantastic.
LL should refrain from partying, tanning, and bleaching her hair so much. What was great about Lohan was she was the cute redhead - she had something unique. She needs to be herself again.

I just looked at Bert Stern’s famous “Last Sitting” photographs of Marilyn after I saw the layout of Lindsay in NY magazine. I can only assume that Lindsay has been looking into trick mirrors if she thinks she has what it takes to be in the same league. Marilyn’s photographs simply ooze sensuality. Even though Lindsay is a pretty girl, she hasn’t got the “It” factor that Marilyn had. For me, the photos come across as one more way for a fading starlet to grab the spotlight by baring her tits and convincing us all she looks like an icon. Sadly, I don’t think she succeeded.

Lindsay Lohan is not Marilyn Monroe. Her freckles make her look dirty in the shots and that wig is awful. She wears too much makeup and should go back to her original hair color. She’s a beauty in her own right and shouldn’t try to be someone else. A shame she’s wasting herself. By now, her lessons should be learned and she should be choosing a better path. She would be a better role model for our teen daughters. Not seeing too many of them that any parent would like their daughters to follow.

While I would agree with others who have mentioned that she does not have the all the goddess like qualities of Monroe, but it isn’t exactly fair to try to compare anybody to her. Monroe was to sexy and romantic as Jim Carrey is to funny. I do however think that Lindsay looks pretty. People either like freckles, or they don’t. I do. Furthermore, these photo’s were shot in black and white which I think was a huge mistake. The freckles do look a bit like dirt with the color bleached out of the picture. Her next photo shoot will be much better if they let her natural skin color be.

The pictures are terrible okay everybody knows this!
