Fair enough if you don’t agree with his beliefs/ethics/behaviour or whatever but i think if you start hating someone you’ve never met and really know nothing about you’re treading on scary territory. Personally i don’t think he ‘cheats and lies and treats people who get in his way like ****’ and don’t believe any of the so called ‘proof’ people bring up but if you do you’re entitled to your own opinion but instead of hanging around and reading every little tidbit about him still why not just move on and find someone else you think is cute and hot and everything you want in a celebrity crush? I just don’t understand this intense hatred some people seem to get for someone they have never met and really know nothing about and i think it would be healthier for them to just move on.
Also pigeonholing an entire religion on the beliefs of a few is definately not right. I don’t agree with some Christian beliefs but do i think they are all like that? Of course not.

“What’s your point? The stuff being said on this board isn’t new or rare.”

Defensive much?
I believe my point was that some people have a scary amount of hatred for someone they have never met and i thought i made that quite clear.
I was stating an opinion just like everyone else is here and i never said it was isolated to this group but since i’m an Orlando fan rather that a Brangelina, Jessica Simpson or Paris Hilton fan i’ll comment on it here.

What? No kissy-kiss goodbye?
==================

Would YOU kiss your significant other goodbye in front of an army of leering paparazzi? I guess in your world relationships only have meaning if the rest of the world knows exactly what’s going on.

“Defensive much?”

Very weird comment. I wasn’t defensive at all just pointing out the normality of this thread. Blogs are usually full of hate. Ever been to Perez Hilton? I read threads on a few celebs and just thought this one was as crazy as the rest. I do think you are defensive but I guess it’s understandable if you are an Orlando fan. I feel sorry for any Orlando fan reading this board.

Shout out to #46: I agree. He’s just an actor. If people want to pontificate on anyone’s hypocrisy they should look to their own governments, because that’s the hypocrisy that will end up shaping the future and truly hurting people. A celebrity saying one thing and doing another means f–k all in the grand scheme of things. These people act like Mr. Bloom has offended them personally, and that’s just freaking scary.

“Blogs are usually full of hate.”

You got that right. Not just blogs but the Internet in general seems to be the place where bitter people really let loose anonymously by saying things that would, in real life, get them ostracized at best or beaten to a pulp at worst. Kinda makes you wonder about these people, dunnit?

“I feel sorry for any Orlando fan reading this board.”

Don’t worry. We’re well aware that fans of a certain ex are acting as though he broke up with THEM instead of her. That puts things in perspective.

But he has offended them personally. They personally had built up this impossibly high set of standards that no human being could possibly achieve, and when he failed to achieve it, they crucify him.
He isn’t celibate and remaining pure until he finds his one and only true love….them. He *gasp* has sexual relations with women who are beautiful, instead of “normal” women. He stars in blockbusters, when he should be doing theatre or taking that break that he always said he wanted….or was that a lie? He takes the break that he wanted, after doing theatre, but he is a hasbeen because he hasn’t starred in a blockbuster for over SIX MONTHS!!! He should be doing more charity work, but when he does it will be called PR. Etc. Etc. Etc.
Ad infinitim.
Feel the love, now?
For these one or two hateful people who keep posting under different names, it all boils down to a juvinile sense of abandonement when their idols turn out to be human beings. They can’t take the fact that there really aren’t any perfect people in this world. Not even Will turner.

“Would YOU kiss your significant other goodbye in front of an army of leering paparazzi?”

Personally, yes, I would. Especially if they’ve already photographed me with my significant other in Hong Kong, at Ago, Villa, condo shopping, etc. Why care about a kiss goodbye?

I’d like to know how the paparazzi knew where Miranda lives and where to find these two. I was surprised when they found Orlando and Kate in Oz - at a horseback riding ranch, no less! LOL! They even found them in Kentucky! Some things never change around some celebrities.

” I guess in your world relationships only have meaning if the rest of the world knows exactly what’s going on.” Actually, I would say that that definition of a relationship would apply to a lot of movie stars and celebrities. Cameras, tabloids, press, and media attention validate and magnify the importance of some celebrity relationships. I think if movie stars didn’t want the rest of the world to know what’s going on, they’d take steps to keep “the rest of the world” out. And some do. Bloom just isn’t one of them, IMO.

As for kissing in front of the paps, Bloom was photographed grabbing Kate’s breasts in public, not to mention groping her and sliding his hand right in between her legs back in the old days when they first came out as a couple at Disneyland. Anyone remember that? They must have known they were being photographed, and Orlando kissed her hand and slid his hand up her leg on one of the rides. So yeah, he can kiss and grope Miranda all he wants at this point. Who’s going to care?

More importantly, which tabloid is going to pick up the tab for a shot that few people, if any, really want to bother with? The only real winner here is Just Jared. As usual.

I love that some people think Orlando only has one or haters and they go around to every board talking trash about him. So delusional you need to get out more. He gets very little respect from filmgoers, critics, the media etc etc

You’re kidding, right.
Tell me you’re kidding.

“groping her breast in public”?? WTF??
He was pulling up her dress so she wouldn’t expose herself.
“Sliding his hand between her legs”??
He had his hand on the inside of her KNEE.
Give me a fricking break. Unless you are a nun, neither one of those incidents would be considered “groping”.
That’s just pathetic.

It is interesting that most of the reports of Orlando coming on to a woman include the fact that he is pawing them or groping them, It seems he doesn’t think a simple introduction will do. Of course with Miranda I can kinda understand it. Who wouldn’t want to get right to the *******, instead of having to listen to that oh so sweet ittle baby doll voice she puts on. It would make me sick to have to listen to it much

Dang , now you’ve got some serious issues. I think thats what you would like to believe -that everyone who doesn’t like Orlando is really hiding some deeper desire to marry him??? wow, that’s rich. .

Just because people are offended by hypocricy doesn’t mean they want to marry lil’orli boy.
For the record, I don’t think the little fan girls you are knocking are totally to blame for the image of him. He knew full well what he was doing all the way to the bank.

I think that they make a beautiful couple.
They need to have lots of children. With a gene pool that gorgeous, it would be a shame to waste it.

not working @ 02/20/2008 at 12:16 am

I think his charm and looks have gotten him off the hook most of his life. I think he manupilates people with them, and it worked for quite a while. But then he was exposed for what he really is. Not a monster, but silly, childlish, selfish, womanizer, with very very little depth or heart. And his fans who bought his deceptions are more than a little pissed at his pointificating and rightly so. You go on tv, you say one think, profess some believes, and then turn around and screw all of your fans that thought you were a really nice guy, and then demonstrated to them in any of number of ways that it was all a big lie, yeah its gonna make some people unhappy. No one likes to be made a fool of, and that is what he did to his fans. He played them. He is not a caring considerate guy, but someone who cheats, and uses and treats women like they are sex objects, he shows very little respect for them, and is mostly interested in them just to ****. What a loser.

Seems to me that both of them need attention to shift their careers in gear. Neither one seems to have anything lined up. On the other hand, Orlando said something about taking a long vacation, which could mean he wants to not work for a while, or it could mean that he’s not getting the really good offers anymore, and won’t admit it publicly.

Not addressing anyone in particular here, but why do some people take other people’s posts personally? If someone comes here to post their opinions about actor X or actor Y, or model X or model Y, it’s just that person’s point of view. So what if people have been turned off by Bloom? So what if some of his fans are ex fans or have left his fandom? Who cares? Some people here are acting as though the departure of some Bloom fans is hurting THEM in some way. Bloom doesn’t care, so why should anyone else? And what’s with the assumption that every NEGATIVE post has to be ONE poster? Why not assume that every POSITIVE post is also ONE poster? Let’s be fair, shall we?

Yes, Orlando Bloom is human, as are we all. His humanity, on the other hand, gets played out before the press. Big deal. If he hasn’t figured out how to keep some things private or to avoid certain situations that invite the press and the paps by now, at age 31, I doubt he ever will. Let’s just be honest about another aspect of Bloom’s humanity: he’s a player and a bit of a manipulator. It’s possible that he lies and uses people to get what he wants. Deal with it, people. Some people don’t care about whom he sleeps with - as long as he/she (he could be bi) isn’t involved with someone else. Some people care about what he says versus what he does, as in promoting the Prius while driving a high powered Audi. Yeah, he’s got the solar panels on the London home, right? The home he never lives in. He’s too busy living it up in LA and hitting the clubs and restaurants, right? And the dark park.

Some people are just turned off by some aspects of his humanity. It’s their opinion and not God’s opinion. The same can be said for Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spear’s humanity. People criticize them. Why take such posts personally? I sometimes get the feeling some Bloom fans take the actions or beliefs of other fans and exfans too personally. Did exfans offend current fans? Maybe it’s some of the current fans who have some things they need to deal with. The exfans have already left, for the most part, haven’t they?

This post isn’t directed at you, #30. It’s just a general rambling. And yes, I’m going to be told (rightly so) to shut up already. No one died and made me God, either. And I’m tired of giving Just Jared hits for these two very average people. I just think some of Bloom’s remaining fans need to let go of the past and let his former fans be.

But how can HE be a hypocrit for not living up to the imaginary ideals placed by these ex-fans? You say that it was an image that he projected, but he really can’t be held accountable for what his fans assumed. His management never portrayed him as anything other than a very nice man. Something backed up by seemingly anyone who has had any contact with him, be it professional or personal. He never claimed to be anything but a very lucky man. He never said that he was a perfect soul, or without sin, so he can’t be called a liar now. If people assumed that this was his image, that’s their own fault.

“dark park” was a typo. Should read DOG PARK. You get my drift.

“But how can HE be a hypocrit for not living up to the imaginary ideals placed by these ex-fans?”

Because they weren’t imaginary. This was the image he promoted and preached to his fans: Good guy, down to earth, charitable, humble, hard working, prefers the UK, not Hollywood, in it for the acting not the fame or money. All the things he presented himself as is questionable.

indeed!
Plural.

“Because they weren’t imaginary. This was the image he promoted and preached to his fans: Good guy, down to earth, charitable, humble, hard working, prefers the UK, not Hollywood, in it for the acting not the fame or money. All the things he presented himself as is questionable.”

OK, let’s break it down.
Good guy - absolutely
down to earth - looks like it…no bling, no Bentley, no 30 million dollar mansions, no private jets, etc.
charitable - another absolute…gives time and money to many different causes and doesn’t call a camera crew to document every moment, was supossed to go to Asia (I forgrt where) to look at the Tsumani recovery effort, bu had to postpone and go to Nepal instead, due to security problems. Global Green, and Peace Games are two of his pet projects.
humble - yep
hard working - you’re kidding, right? He’s done, what, 12 movies in less than 9 years.
Prefers the UK, not Hollywood - I’m sure he does. He alwyas seems his happiest when at home. But movie deals are made in Hollywood. Even European movies have a lot of money at stake in Hollywood. He was in London for the entire second half of last year. If he stayed longer, people would be complaining that he should be in Hollywood, trying to get work.
In it for the acting, not fame or money - yeah, he saw Haven as a huge blockbuster, that’s why he took that part. And the stage play, I’m sure, earned him billions.

So I ask you, where was he lying??
I just can’t see it.

Yay, new thread! I missed a lot while sleeping! lol Shall we bring over our little phylosophical argument on media ethics from the last MK/OB thread, or just leave it? :)

You know, what makes me LMAO? The pap on the airport going: “c’mon, man, it’s just the two of us”. LOL, what did he expect? Did he think OB will say, “oh, really, then let me share the details of my lovelife with you but it will stay between us, right”? ROTFLMAO!

@ Jaded: I guess that’s why he smirked…sometimes you have to laugh off the stupidity of some people. On the other hand the pap thought: “It’s worth a shot!”

How btw do they know that it IS Miranda’s appartement? Just curious.

Lol, I just found this at the Daily Quotes site:
“It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless information.”
- Oscar Wilde

How lucky we are those times are gone! :o)
