Matthew Fox is a Real Doll

Matthew Fox, star of the upcoming live action film Speed Racer, makes an appearance at Mattel’s toy fair showroom to unveil a complete line of toys based on the film.

Fox, 41, showed off his favorite figurine, a miniature-sized version of his character in the film, Racer X (Speed’s rival).

“I’m so excited about this film coming out,” Foxy said. “To see all these things gearing up towards it is really exciting. My little boy [6-year-old son Byron] can’t wait. He actually came to the set while we were shooting, so he saw me in the full Racer X mode. Seeing me in the character was a little intense for him.

Speed Racer parks itself in theaters on Friday, May 9th.

He is so good looking! I love his character in Lost too. Can’t wait for this film to come out!

I’m on the fence with this movie. The ONLY thing I liked about the cartoon was the theme song, which is absent from the trailer. I did not like “The Matrix trilogy” at all (I liked the first one first time I saw it, the second time I didn’t) so the Wachowski brothers aren’t a draw for me.

But at the same time the trailer is bright and it does not look terrible. John Goodman is perfectly cast as Pop Racer and while I am not real familiar with Emile Hirsch he was good in “Alpha Dog” (a very DIFFERENT role from Speed) and I know he’s gotten rave reviews for “Into the Wild” (which I have not seen).

So I might check it out but if I do go see it and I don’t find myself humming along with “Here he comes, here comes Speed Racer” at some point during the movie I will not be a happy camper.
