Taylor Kitsch is Gambit

Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch, aka football player Tim Riggins, will play Gambit (Remy LeBeau) in the new movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, according to SHH.

Kitsch, 26, has signed a three-picture deal and will be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth), Danny Huston (William Stryker), Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool).

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is set to open nationwide on May 1, 2009.

Thank God! I love Gambit, I’m just so happy to see him on film. I was kinda hoping Josh Holloway from Lost would play him, but I’ll take what I can get.

YES! Love Gambit, Love Taylor Kitsch, Love FNL and Riggins. Josh Holloway refused the role because it’s too close to Sawyer in Lost.

yeah baby! i prefer kitsch to holloway! way younger ang hotter! in case FNL doesn’t come back, at least he has a new project. but here’s hoping NBC brings FNL back. I love Gambit! My favorite X-men character. Thank God I like the actor playing him.

I love Gambit!! He was one of my favorite X-Men characters as well, along with Rogue (however, I didn’t really like Anna Paquin’s portrayal of her. She was okay.) because of their crazy relationship with each other.

What does it mean by “three-picture deal?” Will there be an X-Men 4 where Rogue and Gambit meet? Cuz that would totally make my day.

I think that’s an old picture of him. He has gained weight and looks like “pretty boyish.” It’s clear why they chose him as Gambit if you see the recent pictures of him. He looks like him.

I love Friday Night Lights. Taylor is a good actor and can pull of the southern accent. I am glad he is getting his big break. His character is a younger version of Sawyer on Lost, in that they are both bad boys who are mainly alone, but Riggins (TK’s character) is not as jaded and much nicer.
