Hotter-than-hot Eric Bana takes the March 2008 cover of GQ magazine. This month, the Aussie actor takes on Henry the bloody Eighth in The Other Boleyn Girl costarring Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.
Here’s a snippet from the GQ article:
Like Denzel Washington, Bana has a powerfully masculine, intimidating physical presence and brings an epic-heroic dimension to his roles that’s rare in recent movies. A hallmark of his acting is an ability to be at once courteous and nitrogen cold; you can see it throughout his career, notably in The Other Boleyn Girl. As Henry VIII, “he’s very much the man who’s never had anybody say no to him,” says his costar Natalie Portman. It’s an unsettling quality to experience in person, as I discover when, excited by his willingness to speak so candidly about Hulk, I ask once too often about it and Bana announces: “Tomorrow, there will be no Hulk questions.”

I’ve liked him in some of his roles but that interview and article did nothing to make me like him overmuch. He comes off as such a downer sourpuss- like he’d be difficult to work with and impossible to connect with or like.

Yes Roberta, very handsome…and he does have very kind eyes (although I think the most beautiful ones belong to someone else). Seems to be a great guy to hang out with, funny, smart…delicious ironic sense of humor. You can have him Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I take Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (please he needs at least one day to rest: Sunday).
*P.S.: I find this type of photoshoot kinda boring and forced, I prefer seeing him in motion (specially in Munich).

think the writer of this article was trying a bit too hard. I liked EB’s interview in the Los Angeles magazine better. Nice picture of him laying down and showing off those amazing long legs too in it. Won’t hear me complaining about the GQ shots either though.

I have gone bonkers for Bana. and yeah he does (strangely enough) remind me of Corey Feldman, whom I think is cute. However he does not match Bana in dashing good looks and that slim sexy model physique. two of my family members also thought he looked like Corey.
The time that a man (or woman) spends alone with oneself allows you to be able to get it touch with the many facets of the inner self. Thought s and characters compile in your head; created out of the need of companionship when there is none. The time that Eric spent alone on his venture to America when he was younger was such a time combined with the time of his youth that he spent ,as he said always after girls that rejected him, all those feelings that were left inside come to a head and are able to spill out into his eyes and out into his performances . Aslo, Bana has not been cut from the same mold as many of our celebrities here have been. If the interviewer from GQ had ever spent time alone with himself he would not continue to wonder about Bana’s gift. Next question, please.
