OlderNicole Kidman: Baby Bump Where?
Five-months pregnant Nicole Kidman (in Prada) shows off her barely-there baby bump at a press conference for her latest film The Golden Compass at the Peninsula Tokyo on Wednesday in Tokyo, Japan.
“I have been to Tokyo quite a few times.” Nic told reporters at the press conference. “But this is the first time I have been to Tokyo pregnant. I am very glad to be here this way.”
Mrs. Keith Urban also told reporters why she chose to do this family-friendly field: “My Bella and Connor are 13 and 15. So they have seen the film and they loved it…my child inside won’t see the film for a long time. But I think once you have children you want to balance the work you do because they give up so much of you to your work. So occasionally you want to make films that they can take their friends to, they can go to the premiere of, that they celebrate.”
The Golden Compass opens in theaters in Japan on March 1. Domestically, the film has pulled in a healthy $70 million so far and abroad, has racked up a whopping $206 million. And counting!
Nic, 40, was joined on stage by director Chris Weitz and costar Dakota Blue Richards.

i’m the biggest fan of her dress! it’s pure fashion people! ok, it’s different from what we used to see in Hollywood, but that’s what make me think Nicole and Cate are so unique in terms of style! they are not boring and always the same and Angie or Aniston or Bullock, they like to take risks!

Keith’s Amanda and Really: please check some online websites for flight times before you embarass yourselves further with your stupidity. Just for your info:
Sydney to Berlin: almost 24 hours of flight time
Sydney to Tokyo: about 11 to 12 hours
Tokyo to LA: under 10 hours
Sydney to LA: about 13.5 hours
All you NK haters should consider a few things:
- Nicole may have already lined up to attend this Tokyo premiere before she knew she was pregnant. That’s part of her contractual obligation to help promote the film and she had committed to do it. Having done that, she can’t take any more ADDITIONAL flying to go to Berlin.
- Isn’t it just possible that she may have wanted to go to Berlin for the Cinema for Peace, but the organizers told her that video-conferencing will be okay too in deference to her pregnant state. Nicole and Unifem are to be applauded for taking advantage of technology to enable her to “be there” without having her make a 24-hr trip one way to deliver a speech that’s less than 30 minutes!

this is her first pregnancy, so it takes forever to pop - with my first, I was around 20 weeks (5 months) before I popped - so that fact, combined with her height & fitness (she’s probably has abs of steel) keep her looking less pregnant than she is…

You guys are making excuses that the trip to Tokyo is a lot shorter than to the U.S. from Australia. BUT you are missing the big point. She IS flying to the U.S. for the Oscars now. And I don’t care if it’s starting from Japan! In order to get to Japan she had to fly those 9 hours from Oz!! Now she will fly from Japan to U.S. soil. It will EQUAL THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME IN THE AIR! That’s what you guys are missing! In the end, she will have been exposed to the same amount of flying time and radiation she was so scared of!!! Do you see this now??? Cut it in half, I don’t care, she’s still doing the thing she said she was afraid of, which is flying/radiation. And why? Because it’s for HER! Her movie, her Oscars! Not the Grammys which would have supported her husband. Not Germany which would have supported the charity she is supposedly fond of.

So she’ll end up flying 22 hours for her little side trip to Tokyo - instead of flying direct to LA 13.5 hours. So she risked the health of her baby on that “radiation” flight by adding another 8.5 hours of flight time!

#68 Don’t tell me not to embarras myself anymore. Please don’t embarrass yourself anymore with those flight times. In the end she will have traveled the same amount of time/radiation, which is what she was afraid of supposedly, to get from Tokyo to the U. S. The same amount in the end had she gone straight from Oz to the U.S. Also, she flies her own private jet, so let’s not talk about comfort. She has every comfort and luxury on her private jet, so it won’t be taxing on her. Don’t give me the time change difference either, because Keith flies back and forth thru this time difference every two weeks. And don’t tell me she’s pregnant so it’s more taxing. It’s taxing to do the chopped up flights/time changes too. There are no excuses.

- why all the preoccupation with Nicole’s travel plans? Did you ever question why Cate Blanchett, for example, was flying all over the world attending film festivals, photoshoots and movie premieres while pregnant, but not doing a single charity event?
- Just for the record, Nicole DID show her support for Cinema for Peace and Unifem by making herself available for the videoconference. She DELIVERED the key message to all the attendees. I’m happy that they made good use of videoconferencing. In the business world, especially with larger corporations, this is very common. It cuts down on travel time and expenses!

Nicole routinely flies to LA without you folks even knowing it. Her children are there and she DOES visits them. Tom Cruise even mentioned she was in town shortly before the holidays, in an interview he gave to OK! magazine.

Whether you choose to admit it or not, Nicole remains one of the top A-listers and is heavily sought after by the Oscar organizers to be a presenter. Up until a week or two ago, the Oscar show was still very iffy because of the writers’ strike. Now that’s settled, it’s great for Nicole to show her support for the Oscar show by agreeing to be a presenter.

The same thing has been said about Keith and the Grammys. It was the 50th anniversary if I’m not mistaken and he should have been there, just like Nicole should be at the 80th Oscars ceremony. Instead, he was watching her walk around in the dust taking pictures in an ugly blue dress.
They put her picture on the article last week about BOTOX being deadly and harmful to some individuals and to pregnant women and the fetus. She had just said that she would stop dying her hair and getting botox. DUH She’d already dyed her hair and had BOTOX before she knew she was pregnant as is the shame with most harmful substances in a pregnancy. You have already done what you do for a month or more by the time you find out you are pregnant. Ideally a person should clean themselves up and they start trying to have a baby.
She’s so overrated and plays the high and mighty for all her worth. No wonder Tom divorced her, inspite of her affair while married to him.

Keith was exactly where he wanted to be on Grammy’s night! It’s no one else’s business why he chose not to attend the Grammys.
Just for the record … Nicole was invited to be a presenter at the Oscars. Keith was NOT a presenter at the Grammys, nor a performer. BIG DIFFERENCE!!
JJ give me the pleasure to first time post here and give my personal experience in this Japonese premiere of Golden Compass.
I live in Tokyo and as big fan of the books and Nicole Kidman i decided to go.I couldn’t loose this chance and great i did it.
It was so wonderful and i had an amazing experience! Many people were there (maybe too much i would say) and we all have a great time.
My experience with Miss Kidman now: she is gorgeous, beautiful, charming, stunning,….i have no words….i always admire her but after this i’m totally devoted to her. She was so kind and sweet to everyone, always smiling and thanking to everyone….
She is so tall and thin, people were very admire because she is really tall for a woman. I have to say she is the most beautiful creature i ever seen in my whole life! and her tinny bump was there, I SAW IT!!!!!
Dakota and Nicole seem to like a lot each other and they shared a lot of secrets.lol
To end: i just want to thank to Miss Kidman for beaing such a nice lady, for giving me the chance to come true one of my biggest dreams, wich was, see her in real person.
That dress is beautiful. I can clearly see her baby belly. The dress is a trompe loiel (fool the eye). The designs of the dressmake you look at the designs but not the bump. she is CLARLY pregnant in that first picture. below the lace ares is wear she’s bulging. She’s carryihng her baby low not high. that’s why you can’t see to well. I can!
Wow! She’s just glowing with happiness.
