Cate Blanchett Pays Tribute to Heath Ledger

A glowing Cate Blanchett arrives at the 2008 Film Independent’s Spirit Awards held at Santa Monica Beach on Saturday in Santa Monica, Calif.

Cate the Great was on hand to collect the best supporting actress prize for her gender-defying turn as Bob Dylan in I’m Not There.

“It’s kind of cruel to make a pregnant lady waddle this far,” Cate joked at the beginning of her acceptance speech.

Cate, 38, paid tribute to fellow Aussie Heath Ledger, who died in January after accidentally consuming a lethal cocktail of drugs.

She described Heath, who also featured in I’m Not There, as one of the most “beautiful independent spirits of all.”

no she doesn’t use botox, she’s very fair and with the extremely bright lights it can be hard to see her wrinkles but if your eyes work you can see them in her forehead and obviously around her eyes. And this has always been true.
The same is true of Angie…look at a close up you can see the faint lines in her forehead, like any normal person has, even one aging well.

Actresses should have lines and tons of them since they get paid ridiculous amounts of money to make expressions over and over again!

I was wondering why Cate hadn’t said much publicly about Heath..I thought it would be such a hard thing for her to endure while pregnant. I think she had to wait a month before she could even speak about it without breaking down in tears. Is there anywhere that I can read what she said here about him??

she is lovely and so talented

She spoke at his funeral, Elaine.

So classy.

My favorite person ever! I absolutely adore her. Stunning dress on a stunning lady. Could anyone actually hate her?

And #7,8… I think she had her “teeth done” back in 2004/2005. You could see the different in The Aviator. Regardless, I think she looked lovely even when she had the little gap. Sometimes these little imperfections give a face even more character!
