Please! The only woman in the category for Best Actress who can even think to go toe to toe with Angelina for awards is Cate Blanchette and guess what? Angelina beats her still…why? I’m happy MC one because of all the women nominated she gave the most Oscar worthy performance. Ellen Page should never have been nominated and the Oscar Officials know that, but as they did with ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ they wanted to push their little darling through at all cost. The same with Michael Clayton. It should never have been nominated for any category other than Tim Wilkinson’s Supporting role. Tilda S. definitely did not deserve an award for her performance, it should have gone to Amy Ryan or Cate Blanchette. They gave much stronger performances and were actually seen more then 15 minutes.

The Oscars are nothing more than Hollywood B*llsh*t all dressed up. They don’t nominate on merit or performance anymore. As someone else who’s been called a troll on this blog, I do want to say thanks to all of you regulars who’ve spoken out. Sometimes it feels like everyone on here is of one mind, so it’s nice to know that those of us who are turned off aren’t the only ones.

Back to Angelina. It still amuses me that the tabs made such a big deal about the pre-Oscar showdown. Brad and Angie aren’t exactly known as huge partiers and add in that she’s both pregnant and had to go to a ceremony earlier in the day, I can’t believe anyone thought she would show. Even Angie needs a break from the 4-inch heels.

I am going to give my 2 cents about all the drama, and then go to bed. Cliniqua is passionate, she does not like Maniston. If you dont like that she blasts her at every opportunity, dont read her posts. No need to start a feud. Other people make fun of x all the time, and i dont read them getting a beat down. Anyone who was hoping to see a smackdown between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s ex Jennifer Aniston at the Night Before party last night was let down when Brangelina decided to attend the Independent Spirit awards instead. Jennifer was at the Beverly Hills Hotel for the star-studded Night Before party, which benefitted the Motion Picture Television Fund. The party was also attended by A-listers George Clooney — without girlfriend Sara Larson — Seal and Heidi Klum, and Jake Gyllenhaal. But the Friends star left after just an hour and headed back to a private bungalow at the hotel.

The party, at the Beverly Hills Hotel’s exclusive 1912 bar, was the hot pre-Oscar party in town. Two men were even arrested trying to get in using fake credentials and were taken away in handcuffs.

The Jolie-Aniston face-off wasn’t the only awkward Hollywood run-in that was avoided. Yesterday morning, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise had breakfast at the posh Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel, narrowly missing Tom’s ex-wife Nicole Kidman, who showed up for a business lunch with mega-producer Harvey Weinstein. The two are rumored to be working on a movie project together. Tom wasn’t the only ex pregnant Nicole missed. Later in the evening, her former boyfriend Steve Bing dropped by the Polo Lounge and joined a large party in the front of the lounge.

Also in the Polo Lounge were designer Roberto Cavalli, who stopped by PageSix.com’s table to say hello, producer Brian Grazer and Russell Simmons. Christina Applegate enjoyed a cigarette outside with a friend. I watched the Oscars, and I agree, that it was JS way of bringing Angie up, because had A Mighty Heart been a contender, AJ should have been a nom for best actress. Speaking of lovey-dovey . There was a couple that had invited me and a friend to their house for dinner. Half-way through the dinner they looked at each other and started kissing passionately and they got up from the table and dissapeared into their bedroom where me and the other guest had to listen their moans and grunts. We kept right on eating and the couple resurfaced after 30 minutes looking disheveled. The friend and I left. We did not leave sooner because we thought it was rude to do so in their absence. I thought their actions for disappearing were a bit odd but I guess lust and passion can’t wait. Last I heard, they live in London now.

All those predictions of ratings gloom and doom for the 80th annual Academy Awards came true Monday when preliminary Nielsen estimates show this year’s kudocast coming in 20% below last year’s.

Demographic data and total-viewer estimates won’t be issued by Nielsen until this afternoon, but Sunday’s telecast on ABC settled for a 21.9 household rating/33 share in the 56 metered-markets monitored by Nielsen — down sharply from last year’s 27.7/42, which translated into more than 40 million viewers.

The 21.9 rating is also considerably below the 25.5 rating earned by the 2003 Academy Awards telecast, which set the low-water mark for viewership when it averaged just over 33 million viewers. It would seem to be a long shot for this year’s show to come in above the 2003 figure, even with population increases.

After starting sluggishly with a 20.1 rating in the opening half-hour, the Oscars peaked with a 22.7 rating in the 10 o’clock half-hour on Sunday.

If you have the MAMS X-rated dvd, look at the deleted scenes section and look for the scene where they are wearing matching jackets( there are 2 of them), and walking towards a car and she decides to go to a seperate car and he’s wondering why she did’nt get in the car. In that scene Brad says, “Get in the car” , the look on his face shows that if he did not love her then, he must of had a serious crush. I have watched this scene many times, and its funny to me. I don’t think he acted on his feelings until he was divorced. His face shows he was completely sprung then. I love that deleted scene. To me it was real feelings that came through an acting scene. Beautiful. Hotness overload. In that scene he calls her a dumbass and she calls him a p****. funny. watch the expression after that exchange. How that man showed restraint is beyond me.
