yep
wow cool
How The Golden Compass got Best Visual Effects over Transformers I don’t understand.
Bourne did pretty well!
And Juno!
no country for old men is amazing!
Poor Russia…. I’m so sorry :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
i wanted ELLEN PAGE to win…. i know the girl who won was deserving… but… I WANTED ELLEN to WIN!.. and johnny depp… ooo johnny depp! <3
i thought there will be blood was gonna get the oscar for best picture
but no country for old man was really good too so i’m not dissapointed.
Best Visual Effect - that’s a joke…and Cate should’ve won for her Bob Dylan performance.
The rest is ok. :)
uhm. bourne ultimatum with 3?!
Johnny Depp should have won.

I thought the Idependant Awards were fun. Maybe it’s a woman thing but I find the Acadamy Awards excruciating to watch although I am allways interested to know who won.
All the nominees were strong and quality contenders and I think for once, the academy got every oscar winner right.
Ugh, I hate how Jared milks events for as many posts as he can pull from it. Instead of one post it’s many individual posts for separate people.
Obama smoked crack cocaine and had gay sex in Chicago in the back of a limo with Larry Sinclair in 1999, when Obama was a state representative in the Illinois legislature. Sinclair filed suit on Obama and the Democratic National Committee to compel release of this information to the public on 2/11/08. Sinclair took a polygraph test on 2/22/08 and the results will be released to the national media early next week. (He passed with flying colors.) Check out WHITEHOUSE DOT COM for the details. Bill O”Reilly has stated that he will run with the story next week once he reviews the polygraph.
How did Cate get nothing?? She was amazing in both roles!! I don’t get it
yep! specially Javier Bardem and Marion Cotillard… those 2 deserved it!
You’re so nice! :)))))))))))))))
It’s commercial thing! Not truth or “deserving”. It’s business! :))))))
I know #3, I think transformers was better.
marion and javier deserve it, the foreigners were in majority.
i wanted KATYN (Poland) to win
I’m so happy for all the actor winners! They were all so great. Marion was the best. http://tampham.blogspot.com
Most boring show I have seen in 40 years. Where is the talent?
Most boring show I have seen in 40 years. Where is the talent?
Look what we have to pay for admission, poporn and a drink. Geeze, maybe these celebrities should contribute to our loyalty by comping our food at least.
haha.. there was no blood since i wasn’t so idiotic when the imbecile broke my bone. so the movie gets lost.
no country for old man, in spanish is “no ‘hay’ pais para los hombres viejos” because we have a “tacit” missing “there is” at the start of the sentence.
In the newspapers the translation is wrong. they say, “is not a country for old man” changing the subject of the first person from the old man, to a young man telling that someone older has to go.
BTW. i am not weak, i just have been beaten so many times in so small amount of time. what are the causes?
let me guess/.
Transformers should’ve won something. Great special effects.
Atonement was robbed of acting and directing nominees (James McAvoy, Keira Knightley & Joe Wright) and the Academy ultimately snubbed them by not giving them the Best Picture win tonight.
I am most happy with the extremely deserved win for Best Actress for Marion Cotillard for a role in which she transformed herself into Edith Piaf for La Vie En Rose.
It was lovely seeing Marion win and adorable to see the truly shocked expression on her face when she heard her name.
Keira Knightly is sooooooooooooooooo irritating glad she didnt win. Missed Angelina. Cheap joke by that prick about ange, but then he is a CHEAP PRICK isnt he.
well cathy, angelina makes a mockery of herself. she collects children like nik-naks and has so many we rarely if ever even see all the kids together. bouncing kids from place to place to never have a steady school or friends, and raising a manegerie of children is kinda of a joke. sure there are lots of big families but most of the time the ages are spread out so some of the children are a bit older and not so much in need of their parents love and attention… like teenagers who have social lives.
both brad & angelina are total famewh*res who have more money then most people will ever even lay eyes on and yet they still work steadily long hours playing dressup and pretend. then add on angelinas globe-trotting for the benfit of others at the expense of showing her own children children affection. they’re more then a joke they’re obscene and grotesque.
and no, i’m not some aniston fan. i wouldn’t miss any one of these three rejects.
what is the movie business? a bunch of people playing pretend.. it’s not like they cure cancer or anything meaningful or helpful. they’re all a bunch of glorified court jesters. who are good for a laugh in the gossip rags and blogs. they do idiotic and laughable things most people wouldn’t, because they’ve replaced their shame and self respect with inflated egos.
soo happy for marion cottilard! the winners were fair this year…but im surprised cate didnt pick up best supporting actress. oh well, she’s won quite a few times anyways!
It was interesting this year. The big surprise was Tilda Swinton she’s a gifted actress to be sure but in my opinion “Michael Clayton” was the least of nominees. It was a good movie don’t get me wrong, but it didn’t blow me away. I felt the same way about her performance. Good but not spectacular. But she did give an entertaining speech.
I really expected Cate Blanchett to win but was pulling for either the legendary Ruby Dee or Seersha Ronan (who I REALLY wanted to win.)
I figured Best Actress would go to either Julie Christie or Marion Cottilard. So no big surprise although I was pulling for Ellen Page.
The other major awards went the way I expected. I liked all the songs from “Enchanted” but I was glad to see the song from “Once” win. It is a beautiful song and its always cool when little movies like that make an impact and get rocognized. Thumbs up to Jon Stewart for bringing the lady back on stage and letting her give her speech.
I wish I liked “No Country for Old Men” better but it is a brillaint film in many ways and the Coen Brothers are great filmmakers. All in all I thought it was a good show.
Paige, you’re a loser and a silly idiot. It’s none of your business if Brad and Ange adopts children because they could afford to raise, support and educate them. Probably you came from underprivileged background, that’s you’re so bitter. Do something for your fellowmen, don’t just whinge or criticize people who do good things for less fortunates.
It’s sad that “Atonement” got almost nothing. I think this film deserved more than just best score=\
C’est trop bien pour Marion Cotillard !!
juno was robbed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NCFOM shouldnt have won best picture. and ellen page should have won best actress
juno was robbed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NCFOM shouldnt have won best picture. and ellen page should have won best actress
yeah we won!!!!!
The Counterfeiters (Austria)
Jon Stewart was a horrible HOST. He should no respect for Senator Clinton and we have politics on EVERY other channel. She should not have thrown in a rude political joke. Also the pregnant jokes were NOT funny either. Jon Stewart SUCKS!!!!!!
The Oscar’s was very boring.
I agree with those who found the ceremony very boring and the host, Jon Stewart, disrespectful and not at all funny. I am not a fan of Angelina Jolie but his comments about her were way out of line. Who is he to discuss her pregnancy or her beautiful family in such a way? In any case she should have received a nomination for her wonderful performance as Daniel Pearl’s widow.
I was just delighted that Javier Bardem won and was pleasantly surprised that the other acting awards went to really worthy winners, especially Marion Cotillard as Edith Piaf - absolutely amazing.
No your not won (Austria) becouse it was 1/0 polish movie :P
Im so happy yes my choices wins !!!! Marion ! Tilda ! Javier ! and the best doc Congrats !!!!
Johnny Depp should’ve won Best Actor.
For the actors i was between Daniel and Tommy Lee Jones in The Valey of Elah the scene that they showed whene he was arguing face to another terrfic actress Charlize Theron was powerful , anyway he got already one and im happy for Daniel too cuz he was amasing in There will Be Blood
Im glad for Marion Cotillard i was crossing my fingers .
cathy,
how could Keira win anything if she wasn’t even nominated? You’re stupid.
Boring Oscars..only Cate Blanchett was a real star there.
Nicole was there too, but she’s looking so weird lately.
Atonement was the best movie in my opinion..No country for old man didn’t mean anything to me…just another serial killer movie with a great actor.
I don’t get the golden Compass winning anyhting over Pirates and Transformers.
Juno is one of the most annoying movies I’ve ever seen. Diablo Coty was nice there…
Marion was lovely so amazed by getting that Oscar. Loved her.
But the truth is that last year was a bad one for movies..not even a really great movie.
I think everone did amazin bt i am suprised that Sweeny Todd didn’t get more!!!
KATYN & DEPP & KAMINSKI :( ou no
Jon Stuart the host just cracks me up!! hahaha he was so right about Jolie she is only famous for that being with pitt and putting kids that’s where her place is she is famous only for that, pathetic.
paige: What is the point of any art form, then? Just because something isn’t real, doesn’t make it meaningless. Do you think theatre, painting, and music are all useless as well? You’re saying that anyone who doesn’t ‘cure cancer’ or work in non-profit organizations is a waste of space (and anyone who continues to work when they have enough money to retire?), yet the arts have always existed, for a reason. Film is just the continuation of theatre, which is thousands of years old, but makes the tradition available to the masses - movie tickets are cheaper than theatre tickets. An aversion to Hollywood blockbusters is understandable, but to dismiss the art form as a whole is completely unreasonable. Have you ever seen any films outside the mainstream? Maybe they would broaden your perspective a bit.
I didn’t like Cate Blanchett at all in her Bob Dylan role - she just did a parody of him. I usually think she is great and is my favorite actress (along with Helen Mirren) but no way did she deserve the Oscar for this pic.
I haven’t seen Michael Clayton so don’t know if Swinton deserved it or not but she is one spooky looking lady and needs to get herself a stylist. All her gowns are just ugly and so is her no make-up and severe hair.
Javier Bardem rules! I absolutely loved him and the movie itself (NCFOLM) so yes, he and the Coens deserved their awards. You’ll be seeing a lot of Bardem in years to come.
Same for Marion Cotillard. She was fabulous as Edith Piaf and the minute I saw the movie, I said, there is an Oscar performance.
All the music from Once was so good, I was blown away by the movie and was so thrilled when their song was nominated and now has won. What a great little movie. It cost $100,000 to make but is priceless as far as art goes. Ymmmm. It was and is a delicious film
So all in all, I am more than happy with this year’s awards. 2008 was a good year for really great movies and very good Oscar choices for the most part.
cate should have won for her bob dylan performance
and
ellen page for Juno
I couldn’t watch the show from France, could anyone tell me what Stewart said about Angie and about Hillary?
joohnyy fdepp should have won
i wanted johnny to win.. :(
where is zac efron, vanessa , ash..
I hope #56 is joking…
I am SO GLAD Daniel Day Lewis won, along with Javier Bardem and Marion Cotillard. I haven’t seen Michael Clayton, so I didn’t get to see Tilda Swinton’s acting. I didn’t doubt the winners [excluding supporting; I didn't really know which one]. They were all so amazing.
i really wanted johnny depp to win! not only for sweeney todd, but because he really diserved it. Johnny is the only man in earth that can play a dirty weird pirate and still make it interesting and sexy..
about the winners i was on javier’s side!! so i was happy when he won and i was very touched when he spoke in spanish just to tell his mom that he loved her :) and let me answer you #56..
theyre so ******* stupid and boring that they weren’t invited.
the academy award is 4 REAL actors. NOT 4 high school jerks.
OMG!!!!!!!!!! LOVE THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM
i’m serious Across the Universe should have won for best cotsume. and seriously, i’m sorry, but not everybody likes western movies, okay. and you have to give props to johhny depp in his performance in sweeny todd: the demon barber of fleet street. i wonder if he’ll actually do a real theater sweeny…. maybe someday
angelina is sooooo annoying…. she doesn’t realize what she’s doing to her so called “kids”. what’s going to happen to them when they grow up? they’re going to be some messed up druggy living off scraps on the street. i mean come on, you’d have to be stupid to adopt that many kids and have ones on your own in hollywood. she’s just sooooooo weird. and brad is pissing me off. gah, they are one super dysfunctional family if you will call them that.
I was so happy for Marion! She completely deserved it! :D
Sad for Atonement though :(
Best Visual Effect - big joke! transformers should have won.
transformers should have won for Best Visual Effects!
its plain obvious that vickie, #61 is just jealous. she wished she was adopted instead.
VIVE Marion Cotillard ! I’m sooooo happy for her, she is the best one <3 La France est fière de Marion !
Johnny Depp should’ve won, i mean, no one has ever heard of daniel-day lewis
I think the oscar is a kind of conservative award, perhaps how come those film we(young mind) enjoy never gets the crown?
@Patti: Where is the talent ? Uh sweetheart did you even see any of these movies. Some great actors and actresses won, go back to watching mindless fluff like transformers.
@paige: Sweetheart, the movie biz pumps billions into the economy and creates millions of jobs. Think before you speak.
