OlderKate Walsh Sends Her Apologies
Kate Walsh promotes her medical drama, Private Practice, after arriving at the Quay Grand Hotel in Sydney, Australia on Wednesday. She’s also reportedly promoting her new movie One Way to Valhalla.
It was recently announced that Kate won’t be performing in “Good Medicine,” a musical benefit at UCLA’s Royce Hall on Friday to benefit crew members who were affected by the strike. Other cast members from Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice will be there to perform, though! Here’s Kate’s personal (and funny) apology:
“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry and I am sorry I have to be so sorry but still, I do, because I am writing to let you know that despite my initial commitments, I won’t be able to participate in ‘Good Medicine.’ I wanted to come, I really, really did — but I can’t. I have a prior commitment that I tried to get out of and couldn’t. I am so sorry. And so so so bummed. I am so bummed not only that we can’t be there for you and our crew, but because I hate to miss what promises to be an unbelievably great evening. Audra McDonald, Sara Ramirez and Loretta Devine (known to you as the chief’s wife, Adele. She played Effie in the very first Broadway Production of Dreamgirls) are singing! Not to mention T.R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, Amy Brenneman and Paul Adelstein, Tim Daly and Chris Lowell… they’re all going to sing! And so are Chief Webber and his real-life wife Gina, also a Broadway veteran. Aside from all the music, there will be appearances by Katherine Heigl, Brooke Smith, Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers, Chyler Leigh, Eric Dane and Taye Diggs. Basically everyone’s gonna be there. Except me. I cannot believe I have to miss this. Crap. Our crews are the people who make all of it possible. I am so excited this evening is happening to raise money for them and so so sad I won’t be there. I hope you forgive us and I hope you have a wonderful time.

Really EP fans need to get over it. Kate wasn’t trying to slight EP, she also forgot to mention KaDee Strictland AND Shonda. Are you trying to say they she didn’t mention them because she doesn’t like them either?
It’s ridiculous that EP fans are always trying to slam Kate for trival things. So what Kate is human and forgot a couple of names. They only negative things ever said about Kate have always been by EP fans who’s noses are out of joint.
Slamming Kate for being classy enough to write an apology for not being able to attend the fundraiser just because she forgot to mention the EP is plain silly.
Also it’s really nice of her to take the time to film something to show during the program.
I have to say I had no clue Kate left anyone out until it was pointed out. It’s very funny to me that the EP fans are taking this so personally and completely ignoring the fact that Kate forgot KS and Shonda. So no I’d say since she did forget others she didn’t forget EP on purpose.
Loverboy #73 - it’s sad that you take gossip as fact lol. Kassidy made up a load of lies - find any interview with Audra & she loves Kate, as does the rest of the cast. Kate has worked with many of them before & knows Paul Adelstein for 15+ yrs.
And Kate is doing the promo because she is the STAR & leading lady. No-one knew EP before Greys. Everyone knows KW & Addie. She is the stand-out character & popular enough for her own show.

Kate’s character Addison is what made the Mer/Der triangle interesting in Season 2 - the highpoint of the series. They were lucky to have her - we all know Greys has become crap since !

Kate and Alex had dinner with Hugh Jackman and his wife Sienna Miller. Alex is the President of Film Production at 20th Century Fox and the Wolverine movie Hugh is starring in is Alex’s movie. It is in production in Australia.

Just last wk I was writing a letter in my office with everyone’s names on in who work there. Guess what I forgot my very good friend who works there and sits practically beside me. Yes she wrote a letter but now it’s more about her attitude toward Ellen than the fact that she’ll not intend the event.
As a fan of KW (and EP also), I’m disappointed because it give me a bad impression of her and I would have prefer her PR to give the news than her letter which just feed the controversy .
This letter was not wrote or sent out by Kate. I received the email it was sent out by the person name Ann. Kate did not write the letter, it was wrote by people over the benefit.
