OlderKate Walsh Sends Her Apologies
Kate Walsh promotes her medical drama, Private Practice, after arriving at the Quay Grand Hotel in Sydney, Australia on Wednesday. She’s also reportedly promoting her new movie One Way to Valhalla.
It was recently announced that Kate won’t be performing in “Good Medicine,” a musical benefit at UCLA’s Royce Hall on Friday to benefit crew members who were affected by the strike. Other cast members from Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice will be there to perform, though! Here’s Kate’s personal (and funny) apology:
“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry and I am sorry I have to be so sorry but still, I do, because I am writing to let you know that despite my initial commitments, I won’t be able to participate in ‘Good Medicine.’ I wanted to come, I really, really did — but I can’t. I have a prior commitment that I tried to get out of and couldn’t. I am so sorry. And so so so bummed. I am so bummed not only that we can’t be there for you and our crew, but because I hate to miss what promises to be an unbelievably great evening. Audra McDonald, Sara Ramirez and Loretta Devine (known to you as the chief’s wife, Adele. She played Effie in the very first Broadway Production of Dreamgirls) are singing! Not to mention T.R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, Amy Brenneman and Paul Adelstein, Tim Daly and Chris Lowell… they’re all going to sing! And so are Chief Webber and his real-life wife Gina, also a Broadway veteran. Aside from all the music, there will be appearances by Katherine Heigl, Brooke Smith, Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers, Chyler Leigh, Eric Dane and Taye Diggs. Basically everyone’s gonna be there. Except me. I cannot believe I have to miss this. Crap. Our crews are the people who make all of it possible. I am so excited this evening is happening to raise money for them and so so sad I won’t be there. I hope you forgive us and I hope you have a wonderful time.

I like BOTH (Oh my god, what a SHOCK, is that even possible?) Ellen Pompeo AND Kate Walsh. I like both Grey’s Anatomy AND Private Practice and I like their acting. I don’t care if they like each other or not. I think it’s rather irrelevant, too.

I just don’t understand why so many people feel the need to insult Ellen Pompeo or Kate Walsh. I don’t usually read the threads that are written below the pictures, but why would anyone insult woman who they don’t know as a ***** or **** (both these woman are married, so why is that anyway??) or as a b*tch, well it makes no sense. And just to throw my opinion in the mix (why not, everyone else does it) I think it was nice of Kate to write an apology for not being on the event, but it looks like it was done quite quick, and not really fact checked. So it wasn’t really smart to forget about Ellen (or KaDee or Shonda or Indina, for that matter) but it simply slipped her mind. If there is a fight or something, well that is not something that we can judge about, since we don’t know the details. Just my humble opinion.

I do read Kate’s posts and comments, and with a very nice life to live in the mean time, I hardly have time to even read, much more to post on people that I am indifferent to. I don’t even have the time or the energy to actively dislike anyone.

F*ck no, Grey’s is Grey’s for a lot of factors, for all we know any other character could have played Meredith. Ellen is not the center of anything and star well, I don’t think so, it’s an ensable, and Shonda’s the brain and she was smart enough to pic KATE of all the people to do the spin off. Grow up and get real.

WORD. They are nuts. As demonstrated in this thread !! I’m so glad an actress of Kate’ s calibre now has her own show & is away from the screaming teenage soap opera that is Greys.
The note was a classy touch, very sweet of her to even bother sending something out. Kate knows how to treat her fans.

I like EP but I am very embarrassed to call myself her fan. The psycho comments made in this thread by her fans. Her so great fans who named EPs husband the “McFelon” and want her to have an affair with PD. Yes, Im talking about you. Seeing how some of her fans act like childish immature and well psychos, really makes me not want to be a EP fan. I appreciate the letter Kate sent out, it was very nice of her. She is a beautiful woman and that is a lovely dress. I cant wait til the fall for Private Practice, she is amazing. Im glad I can watch two shows now GA and Private Practice. I will also be looking for her movie. I hope she does more Cadillac commercials.

Very classy move by Kate. Such a sweet down-to-earth lady. Hope we get more interviews with her - she’s one of the few actors who is brilliant telling anecdotes & stories. Sparkling personality :)
