This is where we can agree to disagree, like alot of us here have decided to do on various topics. It’s like the 31 flavors at Baskin Robbins, that should give everyone enough choices to find something they like.

I can’t help but think that he is getting more good looking as he ages. Of course it is a more handsome “Robert Redford - Steve McQueen” than he had in the past, but with the looks that he was born with, I doubt he will ever lose his “movie star looks”, whatever those really are anyway.

We all know the double standard in our society - men can get old and more handsome. Us poor women are held up to a totally different standard, which makes it almost taboo for women to age naturally, but most especially in H’wood.

I just can not imagine Brad ever losing his looks. Changing, yes. Just like the rest of the world, which is inevitable.

He’s not getting fat..it’s his face that’s seems to defy gravity and is getting fat and wide as opposed to long. That’s the way gravity works except for Leo. But I like him and I think he’s disiplined enough to not let everything all go to hell. He’s dedicated to his craft and if a movie role requires him to drop 30 pounds he’ll do it with no trouble. He was very thin in The Aviator and The Departed. But seemed bigger in Blood Diamond. That head is big though. Leo is alright y’all. No hating here.

Awww, loving this new pic of Brad with the haircut. Okay, ’show of hands’ - how many here can picture in their mind a picture of Brad, when he is about 3 or 4, with this exact same haircut :D If I recall correctly, he was wearing a blue outfit… so cute! And of course it shows off his chipmunk cheeks - but make no mistake - he is at exactly the weight and ’style’ that is required for his role. He is a perfectionist in this regard and that’s part of why people enjoy seeing what film he will do next.

Really enjoyed some of the discussion on the Iraq thread… please keep posting there fans! I know I’ll be going back to read when I can, and I’m sure a few others will too… it’s a great article about one of the most important issues in our current political arena.

I am not a medical person. My gyno told me if everything goes well, a mother can have a natural birth after she had her first with C-section.

But at the same time the friend had the worst experience with this subject. Her father is a professor gyno by the way!

Her first birth was by c-section and for a second she decided to have a natural. After long hours of labour, her womb was torn by the same line of c-section (if I don’t recall wrong). Her giving birth became an emergency. At the end, she had her second c-section. By third, she goes C without a doubt.

I gave a birth by C with my own will and I had a second, I would have C again. Because it was my fortunate, I didn’t have any problem after the C-section at all. It was so easy, comfortable. This is my personal opinion and experience, of course.

As I said before, Brad is an actor’s actor. He can rock any hairstyle and get into the look of his movie character. Last week a mother of a fellow kindergartener called to tell me about a casting call that she was looking at for her toddler son. A major motion picture is filming outside of town and needed babies, toddlers, and an expectant mother - small frame, light skin, about 8 months along. I called the casting director and emailed her pics of my belly last Friday. Saturday she called me to tell me that they cast me in the part! Yay, I thought … assuming that they would have shots of my pregnant belly as the “stand in” for the actress. I have been hearing rumors about who was cast in the movie, but didn’t think they were slated to start shooting until March.

My shot was today - I arrived in Smithville at 9:30 am, filled out some paperwork, and ate a danish. They drove me to the set in a van and the Producer went over the shot with me. I wore my lowest pants so that they wouldn’t have to be removed to get a full belly shot … and he said just holding up my shirt to the bra line was fine - so no wardrobe was needed. He went over what the shot entailed ~ the “actor” would be caressing my stomach, putting his head on my stomach, and possibly kissing it ~ and wanted to know if I would be okay with that. I said “SURE” … whatever … I wasn’t uptight about any of that (plus I think I look pretty good for a giant preggers and have no shame in baring it all). He then said, “um, do you know who the “actor” is? I said no. He said…….

“it’s Brad. BRAD PITT.”

FREAKIN’ BRAD PITT WAS THE FATHER OF MY UNBORN BABY TODAY!!!!! He rubbed my belly, pressed his face to my belly, stared tenderly at my belly, and when Griffin kicked the crap out of him, smiled HUGELY and said “that’s so beautiful”. BRAD PITT THINKS IM BEAUTIFUL. Oh my God, I cannot stop smiling. I’m just on Cloud 9. Can you believe??????????????????????????????????????????? He spent 20 minutes about an inch away from all my sexual organs, lovingly rubbing my unborn child. Talk about a perfect day.

wow i just got through reading 2 threads well 1 & 1/2 becasue I scrolled over all the trolls in the last thread.

From what I have read on film sites, thest pictures are not actual filming. Brad was just there on set. the clothes that he’s wearing are all wrong for the film.

OT I just wanted to point out that everyon needs to beware of pepole who are sking information about this film shoot. No one should be asking specifics. It’s none of your business and you might get in trouble. That’s all I’m gonna say. Matt Drudge is in really big trouble for revealing that Prince Harry of GB has been fighting in Afghanistan. This is a breach of classified military intelligence. The foreign press (US) put him additional risk and he is no longer there. this story aslo was shown on Entertainment Tonight..Not what in Sam Hill does fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan have to do with entertainment? They are beyond ludicrous and they are in trouble with Scotland yard as well. that show is so annyong lately…Everytime I turn it on there are these wince inducing stories on anorexic twins or obes former American idol auditioners. What has that dgot to do with entertainment? Those shows are supposed to be on Discovery Heath Network.

Welcome to Pittville, Tree of Life Sprouts Roots

A fan’s tribute to Terrence Malick

I’ve been following the slow-building saga of Terrence Malick’s Tree of Life for a while now and there has been some definite movement in recent days. For one thing, Brad Pitt, who has replaced Heath Ledger, and fam have moved to Smithville, Texas, which locals are now calling “Pitville.” Austin 360 is keeping tabs on the production has found three YouTube videos of what looks like the 60,000 pound old oak tree they’ve chosen for the shoot. Production designer is Jack Fisk, cinematographer is Emmanuel Lubezki. Sean Penn also stars.

The notoriously private director is keeping things quiet for now but with Brad and Angie in town, something tells me it won’t be much of a secret for long.

There isn’t a good deal of information out there about Tree of Life, which is also written by Malick, but it is supposedly a project he began working on in the 1970s and looks to be a kind of sweeping epic of the evolution of mankind. You know, just a simple story.

As always whole family is together and they are in Texas. Angie and Mad went to Walmart in Bastrop Texas 15 minutes from Austin (a bigger town 15 minutes from Smithville) and onlookers said how tiny she is and how pretty she is. The person who checked her out said they bought toys when she called into a local radio station. They arrived in Texas on Monday.

The reason why Sin City 3 is set to come out before Sin City 2 is because… IT ISN’T!!! Here is why it says it is: It was confirmed a while back that they would make two more Sin City movies. So IMDB made a Sin City 2 and a Sin City 3 page. It was never really confirmed what books would be included in the next movie. It was highly speculated (and originally planned) that A Dame to Kill For would be the main novel for the second movie. But, due to the fact that the producers/directors waited so long for Jolie, this threw everyone else’s schedule out of whack. So now, here we are, and nobody is cast for Ava Lord. And Depp finally has a free schedule to film this movie. So, instead of making A Dame to Kill For the second Sin City, as speculated/planned, they are going to go ahead with Hell and Back. This makes perfect sense. Make the movie while they can. So this movie IS Sin City 2. (assuming they do make it and release it next)

REMEMBER: There is NO real chronology to the movies!!!! YES, A Dame to Kill For takes place BEFORE both The Big Fat Kill and The Hard Goodbye. So it really makes no difference that this movie comes out before A Dame to Kill For does.

A motto of Smithville, 45 miles east of Austin just off Texas 71, was “the best kept secret in Texas.” And then my big mouth and I moved there last year and that slogan became as fitting as calling Lockhart “Vegan’s Paradise.” All I lack is a button that says “Ask me about Smithville.”

I traded Austin, that trendy, starbuzzing “Riviera On the Range,” for the simple life of small-town Texas. And then cinematic giant Terrence Malick (”Thin Red Line,” “Days of Heaven”) came to my street to make “Tree of Life” with Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. With Brad you get Angelina, and with a new baby on the way, you get international media attention. With all these Hollywoodians walking around, I’m wondering when Pangaea is going to open a Smithville location.

Because it’s near Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Bryan/College Station, Smithville (pop. 3,901) is tagged “Heart of the Megalopolis,” but never has it been so “mega” as it will be for the next three months of filming. “Hope Floats,” which filmed here in 1998, is looking like a warmup act.

But this is not a story about star wattage, celeb canoodling or whether or not the newly single Sean Penn is dating Czech model Petra Nemcova. We’ll leave that nonsense to the supermarket tabloid parasites. Most folks in Smithville think “canoodle” is something you find in aisle three at the Brookshire Brothers grocery store.

In acknowledgement of today’s start of filming on the 1950s period piece, I’ve taken it upon myself to fill in all these newcomers on what there is to do in and around the Smitty City. Read on, Brad and Angelina, and you just might become Mr. And Mrs. Smithville.

Last week, I received this email from my friend Debbie from church:
This is a job opportunity for Jake if you can send a photo to the address below or if you want to send it to me i can do it. this would be around Austin but i would go with you if you want me to. this is a big film with brad pitt.

An independent feature is looking for infants and expectant mothers for
a late February shoot.
Needed:
* Infants between 2 days and 10 days (born between Feb 14 and Feb 24)
* Infants 1 month old (born around Feb 1)
* 1-yr old boys with brown or blonde hair
* 2-yr old boys with brown or blonde hair
* Expectant mothers around 7-8 months
Infants and parents will be needed between 3-6 hrs. There will be a
comfortable resting area available off set.
I was like “what?” Brad Pitt? My kid in a movie? Yeah right. So what did I do? I sent in two pics of Jake to the casting director, that’s what I did (thanks Bush, I sent in one of your pics . I thought, there is NO WAY he would get the part. However, complete strangers always tell me that he could be in magazines, commercials, etc. And I am NOT a crazy psycho showbiz mom type. Anyways…
The next day, I received a call from the casting director, and she said that they wanted to use him. There were going to be several other little kids that they would be using as extras and they would do different shoots to see which shots/kids they wanted to use. They would be shooting this movie in Smithville, where Hope Floats was filmed (about 2 1/2 hours away from us), and it would only be a day trip. He’d even get paid (not much, but it covered gas).
So, since my friend Debbie said she’d go too, I said ok. Debbie has a daughter in college and a son in high school, and they have both done a lot of acting, so I felt comfortable taking her with me. I thought, why not? I don’t have anything better to do, and it could be fun to be on a movie set. We honestly didn’t even think Brad Pitt would be there yet since it was the first day of shooting. I also thought that there would be like 50 little kids Jake’s age or something like that.
We loaded up and left Houston at 7 yesterday morning to make our 10am call time, and when we got there, we got the scoop. It was crazy. Lots of security because guess what….Brad Pitt really WAS there! There were several infants, a few one year olds, and only one other 2 year old besides Jake. Jake and the other 2 year old were set to play a 2-year-old version of one of Brad Pitt’s sons (during a flashback scene) in the movie! They often have a few of each age group in case one kid doesn’t cooperate or gets tired, etc. And they can shoot them differently for different scenes. I swear, Jake and this other kid looked like they could be brothers.
So we wait and wait, and they take the other kid to wardrobe and to shoot first. It turns out that all of these kids had scenes with Brad Pitt. He meets the families, holds the kid, plays with the kid, etc. And all of these parents were coming back from their shoot talking about how they met BP and yadayada. So we are still waiting (that’s the name of the game when you are doing something like this). They kept telling us they were going to use Jake, but 6 hours later (which is the limit on being able to work a child this young), they ended up not needing him! They had gotten sufficient shots with the other kid. Man.
Needless to say, we were super disappointed. I knew this could happen, but once we got there, it just seemed like it would work out. But that’s what happens in this business. Especially when you are an extra. So we didn’t get to meet BP, but I saw him from a distance ” class=”wp-smiley”> And it was pretty cool that Jake was chosen out of a ton of kids to be cast in this movie. It was truly a once in a lifetime thing since they were filming so close to Houston.
Oh well. It was a rough day with wrangling a 2 year old for 6 hours, but at least we went and tried. I wouldn’t say that it was “fun”. But it was an adventure and probably worked out for the best. Who knows? There may have been something in the movie that would have made me ashamed for Jake to be a part of it. The plot has been kept really secret for some reason. The film is called Tree of Life and opens next year, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. It is written and directed by the same dude that did “The New World” with Colin Farrell, and Heath Ledger was originally supposed to play the lead role. I was told that it is a coming-of-age film and that it would have a family rating. That is the only reason I agreed to do it. If it was rated R, no way. Still, we all know that PG-13 stuff can be edgy. So, we’ll see when it comes out. It will be really crazy to watch it and recognize all of the kids that we saw at the shoot.
And that’s how I ALMOST met Brad Pitt (everyone said he was really nice….by the way….but I’m not bitter….nope).

We talked about how a guy who took a picture of Brad Pitt, gave it to a radio station, then asked them to take it off their website because they didn’t pay him for it. So we just wanted to say thanks to all of our listeners who are way cooler, cause they never asked anything of us when sending us the pics. You guys are so much cooler than other station’s listeners. SO THANK YOU!!!

He has also signed on as a technical consultant on Paramount Pictures’ upcoming film “The Fighter,” which is based on the lives of Ward and his half-brother, Dickie Eklund, and will star Mark Wahlberg as Ward and Brad Pitt as Ecklund. With the end of the writers’ strike, filming is set to begin in Lowell this fall.
