Zac Efron is One Slick Rick
Zac Efron arrives at the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas, Isle of Man on Thursday to continue shooting his new movie Me and Orson Welles (an adaptation of the period coming-of-age novel by Robert Kaplow).
Claire Danes stars opposite the 20-year-old teen heartthrob in the Richard Linklater-directed film.
Me and Orson Welles is a 1937-set movie, which centers on a high school student (Zac) who, while strolling the streets of New York, happens upon the yet-to-open Mercury Theatre and is noticed by its mercurial founder, Orson Welles.

No, Bethany, that wold not be a logical thing to do. Just admire him from afar and support him by seeing his movies. However, if you want to write him a fan letter, letting him know how much you admire him as an actor and a person, there is an address on the zefron.com fan site.

Do you ever imagine what Zac might be thinking when we see picture of him on set like this? If you’ve read the book, Me and Orson Welles, you might have some interesting thoughts as I did:
He’s going over his Lucius rehearsal scene with Welles.
Richard: ” ‘ Here, my good lord.’ ”
Welles: ” ‘What, thou speak’st drowsily?’ Where is thy ukulele, boy?”
Richard: “I think some a-s-s-h-o-l-e doth stole it.”
Welles: “Jesus Christ, this is some rehearsal.”

Have you read the book ‘Me and Orson Welles’? I know what it is about but can you tell me what the genre of the film is? I mean, is it a comedy? A tragedy? (I don’t think so.) Or a family movie? Or maybe an artistic one?
I was wondering because the book is not available in my country.

Yes, he is a gorgeous young man and Vanessa is lucky to have such a hottie for a boyfriend. However, all you need to do is look at her and know that Zac is just as lucky to have such a beautiful young woman beside him. They are truly well matched in looks. The best thing is, they both think the other is beautiful. I think he is going to make a lot of people eat their words within the next year. Plus, the buzz Vanessa is getting about her new CD makes me think she is also going to stuff a few bites down a few people’s throats also.
Has anyone heard a date this movie might be released?

i’ve heard release for 2009, but since its considered an independent film, who knows?
i think it will more than likely get shopped around at the film festivals! which would mean some great promoting from/for zac, and he’d certainly get to meet many industry big wigs!
i agree that many are likely to eat their words with his upcoming work, i’m really glad he’s getting an opportunity to branch out!
and to outsider:
the story is considered a “coming of age” novel. quite the interesting story, because all though this genre is covered a great deal, the arc that this story takes is really interesting and funny!
#39 Ashley is in New Zealand filming “They Came from Upstairs.” That film doesn’t wrap until late April I understand, so I’m afraid the Ashley draught is going to last a while longer. But look at it this way, all three of the “HSM’ leads are busy little bees these days and that’s a good thing.

Just a little note, Zac’s ring is not a purity ring. I believe the Jonas brothers wear those.
No, we haven’t seen his ring since his operation but Vanessa is still wearing hers and the last pictures we had of Zac and Vanessa—after he got out of the hospital and a couple days before she left for Austin to start filming her movie—they were very much together and she was wearing her ring and he wasn’t. He may not have it because he has been filming back to back movies and he cannot wear it while filming. That means he will have the ring off and on all the time which leads to more opportunity to lose it. Since he has admitted to losing other rings on move sets, he may want to guard against losing this one and is keeping it in safe keeping at home until he returns—which makes sense. OR with all the craziness due to him having to go to the hospital it may have been lost. He loses things like many guys—but this particular ring is probably safe somewhere for now.
He is a very pretty guy, I give him that but I tend to like faces with a bit more personality to it.
I do wish him the best with his career though. It would be interesting to see how versatile he will be with his career

Ashley, I’m not sure I understand all your questions, but I’ll try to answer them. HSM2 starts filming around April 21st and ends around mid June.
Zsc’s not wearing his ring because he is filming. If you see shots of Vanessa on the set of Will, she won’t be wearing hers either. That is because the characters they play don’t wear rings. They are not Zac and Vanessa in the movies. She is playing Sa5m, and he is playing Richard Samuels.
If you saw all the pictures of Vanessa at the airport, she has been wearing hers while not filming.
I realize that a lot of insecure teenage girls who are fans of Zac and Vanessa transfer their own insecurities to Zac and Vanessa’s relationship. Better to support them in these new movies they are doing, and let the two of them handle the relationship.
he’s not being mobbed because he is in the UK, he isn’t nearly as well known here…
and does anyone know if he is british in the film… because if so i am dreading his british accent…
Zac’s character, Richard Samuels, lives in Westfield, New Jersey. But, the Mercury Theater where he spends a lot of time is in New York.
It is not a British movie despite the fact that there are a few British actors in the film or that it is being filmed at Pinewood Studios in England and on the Isle of Man in the Gaiety Theater.
