Zac Efron arrives at the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas, Isle of Man on Thursday to continue shooting his new movie Me and Orson Welles (an adaptation of the period coming-of-age novel by Robert Kaplow).
Claire Danes stars opposite the 20-year-old teen heartthrob in the Richard Linklater-directed film.
Me and Orson Welles is a 1937-set movie, which centers on a high school student (Zac) who, while strolling the streets of New York, happens upon the yet-to-open Mercury Theatre and is noticed by its mercurial founder, Orson Welles.

i hate how people always say: “vanessa’s so lucky to have zac”. i mean it’s true, she is lucky. zacs gorgeous, sweet, down-to-earth, talented and a good guy, but isn’t zac lucky to have vanessa too? from a girls point of view, vanessa is also gorgeous, sweet and down to earth as well as talented. but people rarely ever says “zac’s so lucky to have vanessa”. theyre both great people, but only zac gets recognized for being great, cuz, well, hes a good-looking guy. and hes a great guy, but vanessas not the only one whos ‘lucky’.
just my little rant for the day
can someone who has read the book tell us what all happens in it. and by that i mean what happens to zac’s charecter?

I’ve always thought that too. And I still don’t understand why people seem to think Vanessa isn’t good enough for Zac.
But girls tend to be held to higher standards than guys. And when an amazing guy like Zac comes along, any girl who wants to date him must be damn near perfect, as we all know Vanessa is not.
I think people believe it’s more an honor for her to be dating him than him to be dating her, because he can date anyone he wants to and people think she can’t, even though I think she could if she wanted to.
Personally, I think they’re both lucky to have each other, because they’re both good to each other and good for each other.
he does not look young but his jacket is very cool. I have the same sanuk shoes that he has!
some people on here know sooo much more than me about zac

Thanks for expressing my exact sentiments. I think girls are more petty and vocal and so lose no chance of slagging off Vanessa as if Zac is perfect. I always wonder when they say he can do better, who else exactly within his age range has more poise or is hotter or more stylish and beautiful and yet down to earth than Vanessa? The important thing is that he knows and values who he has. He stated in an interview that she is very covetable and is well aware that guys like Ryan Sheckler are standing in a queue for vanessa. I think they are well-matched in looks and personality, are aware they are not perfect and do appreciate each other.
On another note, in continental Europe, everyone is like ‘Zac Efron, the hsm guy with the hot girlfriend’ and on guy sites, the buzz is all about Vanessa so I guess it plays out. JJ and many other general sites have mostly young female visitors who think Zac Efron is the hottest thing since sliced bread!!!

The best thing about Zac and Vanessa together, is that they knew each other and fell in love long before they were famous, so it’s not the fame each other has that attracts them to each other. It’s their basic friendship and how they enjoy being together that is so special. I agree……they’re lucky to have each other!
Um go sox, i think that your tinking of ashley tisdale, cause zac didn’t know vanessa until hsm and they first started dating a while after that came out. they didn’t even kow eachother. i personally want zac to dump her cause she wants to be sexy and what not but isn’t a i really think that vanessa loves zac but he doesn’t love her back but just likes her as a friend. he never wears his ring but she does and he never really looks as happy around her as she is around him. it’s the cold hard truth people deal with it.

One can work as an actor and not be famous… that’s what Go Sox meant when she quoted that. So, she’s right in saying they fell in love before they became famous.
As far as your wants are concerned… we all want different thngs.. but actually getting what we want is a different story.
BTW, I just Vanessa on her Neutrogena commercial and she is GOWGEOUS! No wonder Zac WANTS her in his life

We are so on the same page. And to tell you the truth, Alexander just proved everything you, me and Moliver_Loyalist have said.
It’s upsetting how Zac’s fangirls dump on Vanessa like she’s not an important part of Zac’s life. Like she’s just an inconvience to him and that he’s “stuck” with her when that doesn’t seem to be the case.
And they act like he can do so much bettter than her, or he’d be happier with someone like Ashley, someone who he has considered to be an older sister for years now.
There aren’t many guys like Zac, that is absolutely true. But the way I see it, there aren’t many girls like Vanessa too. She’s all those things you said she is, and more.
And if she wasn’t a girl and she wasn’t dating Zac, I think people would appreciate her a lot more.
