OlderRush Limbaugh Praises Angelina Jolie
Republican bullhorn Rush Limbaugh praised Angelina Jolie yesterday on his radio show, saying she makes more sense than the Democrats when it comes down to the issue of Iraq.
Here’s what Rush, 57, had to say about Angie:
“Everybody today is raving about a piece in the Washington Post by Angelina Jolie in which she just got back from Iraq. She says, ‘We have finally reached a point where humanitarian assistance, from us and others, can have an impact.’ Her point is to stay, help the Iraqis, especially those who are out of the country, want to come back home, the time is right now, and that the surge is working. Now, if you read the piece by Angelina Jolie today in the Washington Post, you will conclude that she is deeper and in ways more specific than Obama about this if you read the whole article. She makes more sense than Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or anybody on the Democrat side about this. It’s stunning. I’ve had some people, ‘Rush, you realize, she didn’t write it.’ I don’t know that she didn’t write it. I’m not going to assume she didn’t write it… That’s another thing, that’s a good point, too, it’s pretty brave of her to do this, given Hollywood and so forth. But she’s big enough to withstand it, and it sort of makes me appreciate this Brad Pitt guy a little more. He’s gone after substance here, is all I’m saying. This really is a good piece.”

At Extra last night, one of the Dancing With The Stars professional dancer was teased, the casts knows that he has a big crush on Angie so when they showed him Angie’s picture as who will be his next dance partner he thought it was for real, he was really so happy, he then was told, it’s Pricsila Presley whom she will be dancing. One problem is that people like to think that conservatives and liberals only think one way and only have one opinion. Most people who are registered as Democrats and Republicans actually have many of the same values and really could care less about the politics of it all

This may be a long post, but I promise if you read the whole thing, you’ll be like “no way”.
Last week, I received this email from my friend Debbie from church:
This is a job opportunity for Jake if you can send a photo to the address below or if you want to send it to me i can do it. this would be around Austin but i would go with you if you want me to. this is a big film with brad pitt.
An independent feature is looking for infants and expectant mothers for
a late February shoot.
Needed:
* Infants between 2 days and 10 days (born between Feb 14 and Feb 24)
* Infants 1 month old (born around Feb 1)
* 1-yr old boys with brown or blonde hair
* 2-yr old boys with brown or blonde hair
* Expectant mothers around 7-8 months
Infants and parents will be needed between 3-6 hrs. There will be a
comfortable resting area available off set.
I was like “what?” Brad Pitt? My kid in a movie? Yeah right. So what did I do? I sent in two pics of Jake to the casting director, that’s what I did (thanks Bush, I sent in one of your pics . I thought, there is NO WAY he would get the part. However, complete strangers always tell me that he could be in magazines, commercials, etc. And I am NOT a crazy psycho showbiz mom type. Anyways…
The next day, I received a call from the casting director, and she said that they wanted to use him. There were going to be several other little kids that they would be using as extras and they would do different shoots to see which shots/kids they wanted to use. They would be shooting this movie in Smithville, where Hope Floats was filmed (about 2 1/2 hours away from us), and it would only be a day trip. He’d even get paid (not much, but it covered gas).
So, since my friend Debbie said she’d go too, I said ok. Debbie has a daughter in college and a son in high school, and they have both done a lot of acting, so I felt comfortable taking her with me. I thought, why not? I don’t have anything better to do, and it could be fun to be on a movie set. We honestly didn’t even think Brad Pitt would be there yet since it was the first day of shooting. I also thought that there would be like 50 little kids Jake’s age or something like that.
We loaded up and left Houston at 7 yesterday morning to make our 10am call time, and when we got there, we got the scoop. It was crazy. Lots of security because guess what….Brad Pitt really WAS there! There were several infants, a few one year olds, and only one other 2 year old besides Jake. Jake and the other 2 year old were set to play a 2-year-old version of one of Brad Pitt’s sons (during a flashback scene) in the movie! They often have a few of each age group in case one kid doesn’t cooperate or gets tired, etc. And they can shoot them differently for different scenes. I swear, Jake and this other kid looked like they could be brothers.
So we wait and wait, and they take the other kid to wardrobe and to shoot first. It turns out that all of these kids had scenes with Brad Pitt. He meets the families, holds the kid, plays with the kid, etc. And all of these parents were coming back from their shoot talking about how they met BP and yadayada. So we are still waiting (that’s the name of the game when you are doing something like this). They kept telling us they were going to use Jake, but 6 hours later (which is the limit on being able to work a child this young), they ended up not needing him! They had gotten sufficient shots with the other kid. Man.
Needless to say, we were super disappointed. I knew this could happen, but once we got there, it just seemed like it would work out. But that’s what happens in this business. Especially when you are an extra. So we didn’t get to meet BP, but I saw him from a distance ” class=”wp-smiley”> And it was pretty cool that Jake was chosen out of a ton of kids to be cast in this movie. It was truly a once in a lifetime thing since they were filming so close to Houston.
Oh well. It was a rough day with wrangling a 2 year old for 6 hours, but at least we went and tried. I wouldn’t say that it was “fun”. But it was an adventure and probably worked out for the best. Who knows? There may have been something in the movie that would have made me ashamed for Jake to be a part of it. The plot has been kept really secret for some reason. The film is called Tree of Life and opens next year, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. It is written and directed by the same dude that did “The New World” with Colin Farrell, and Heath Ledger was originally supposed to play the lead role. I was told that it is a coming-of-age film and that it would have a family rating. That is the only reason I agreed to do it. If it was rated R, no way. Still, we all know that PG-13 stuff can be edgy. So, we’ll see when it comes out. It will be really crazy to watch it and recognize all of the kids that we saw at the shoot.
And that’s how I ALMOST met Brad Pitt (everyone said he was really nice….by the way….but I’m not bitter….nope).

Angie is doing what she chose to do. Brad and her do humanitarian here and abroad. They are a perfect pair in many ways and it’s all good what they do.
So I can say, “Her and Brad for president!” (How about that Rush?)
Rush is a bottom-feeder in the dregs of humanity.
I respect Angelina for her work with children and refugees around the world. There have been elements to her personality that I’ve not so much appreciated over the years, but to each her/his own. She more than makes up for it. And I like her with Brad. They seem to complement each other.

. I’m up early and i just saw angie and the beowulf cast on made in hollywood, talking about the movie. She was talking about having emotional scenes with crispin glover, having that funny bodysuit on, among a few other things. She said she had to make the tail movements with her arm and how often do you get to do that, but on screen all you see is the tail and it’s all lovely and delicious, lol. Her words. She seemed like she had a great time making beowulf. Have a great saturday guys

hello Angelina’s work as a UN Goodwill Ambasador does not entail any salary FYI whenever she travel as UN Goodwill Ambassador all her expenses came from her own pocket. To her helping refugees is not work it’s her passion so quit with your hate.. It’s easy to belittle somebody’s effort while you just sit on your ass and getting yourself fatter and fatter everyday.

Angelina doesnt do drugs and free of illness, she is a healthy woman, thats why she got pregnant easily. Maybe its X who has STDs and does drugs, because at almost 40 yrs old, she did not pregnant at all.
Anyone who’s read Angie’s book and other writings can tell that these are her own words. And I don’t see her doing cartwheels over Rush Limbaugh’s halfassed remarks. Everyone’s got a motivation to make a statement for Hollywood, and this just proves that the ‘enemy of my enemy is my friend.’ Obviously Rush has an axe to grind with politicians as usual, and out of respect he should leave Angie out of it. This is the same man who spews vile hate at anyone with a different view point, while hypocritically being addicted to drugs. Not exactly the model citizen to praise your work. Forget it, Rush, you’re not getting a date with Angie.

Mixed feeling about this, since Rush Limburgh is someone who was caught being a drug-addict while accusing others of addictions. Only thing funny I find in this article is at the end, he said that Brad “went after substance”, isn’t this a bit of a dig to the X? Does he mean Brad left a frivolous no-substance Miss Aniston? Ouch LOL!
I support Angie’s view in reference to helping the refugees and the resettlement of the internally displaced. I on the other hand do not buy into this as an opportunity to bash the democrats by the right wing. I do not support the war in Iraq and do not support the surge for the same reasons parents who have lost children do not support it.
I believe the refugees need to be helped and resettled but not at the expense of the American economy. We have spent trillions of dollars already in Iraq as it is, and the economy is at it’s knees with the dollar value sinking at an all time low, lower than even the Canadian dollar. I believe there should be a unilateral world organization of countries contributing both financial and man power to help in the refugees resettlement process and not just entirely an American responsibility. I know alot of countries especially those opposed to the war from the get go will perceive this as an American created problem that deserves an American solution but I hope the perception will fade and be replaced by compassion and common sense.
I do not support the view that this article promotes the republican agenda and blasts the democrats for being insensitive to the Iraqi cause. And that Rush guy knows nothing about Brad and his choices so it is offensive for him to even comment about Brad. All over a sudden out of the blue he “appreciates Brad more” Please give us a break,, where have you been all this time while we the fans have been appreciating him everyday. Get lost!!!!!
I don’t listen to Limbaugh, but I do suspect that Angelina’s previous life choices were fodder for his tirades. Clearly, Angelina’s article reached him on some level; but naturally, he had to rearrange it to meet his own ends.
As for anyone getting unnecessarily upset about Limbaugh being associated with Angelina, don’t be. Limbaugh sought out Angelina’s article; Angelina didn’t seek him out. Plus, the Democrats/liberals who participated in or watched the Clinton Initiative conference last September should have known where her head was. H@ll, posters here knew about this; there was a link posted of her talking about the need to have education/relief outlets in place in order to counteract the terrorists’ recruitment incentives geared towards children/young people.
As for Clint and JV being an influence over Angelina, please remove JV out of the equation. That fool was endorsing Guiliani all over the place and the dude didn’t win any caususes or primaries. However, I can see Clint as being not necessarily an influence, but a interesting source of perspective.
And seriously, if the war between Hollywood liberals versus conservatives is an actual war, they need to cut that $h*t out. Hollywood should be about talent, not political affilliations.

It is an “American created problem” and it’s America responsability to fix it. And you have too.
This stupid war has cost american troops lives, but it doesn’t compare to the death of innocence iraqi civilians. Have you see the numbers of civilian deaths during and since the 2003 invasion?
But like Angelina said it’s not just the refugees, Iraq and the region that are a stake, but your own national security. And wasn’t that the reason you started this war in the first place, because of your “national security?
