Rush Limbaugh Praises Angelina Jolie

Republican bullhorn Rush Limbaugh praised Angelina Jolie yesterday on his radio show, saying she makes more sense than the Democrats when it comes down to the issue of Iraq.

Here’s what Rush, 57, had to say about Angie:

“Everybody today is raving about a piece in the Washington Post by Angelina Jolie in which she just got back from Iraq. She says, ‘We have finally reached a point where humanitarian assistance, from us and others, can have an impact.’ Her point is to stay, help the Iraqis, especially those who are out of the country, want to come back home, the time is right now, and that the surge is working. Now, if you read the piece by Angelina Jolie today in the Washington Post, you will conclude that she is deeper and in ways more specific than Obama about this if you read the whole article. She makes more sense than Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or anybody on the Democrat side about this. It’s stunning. I’ve had some people, ‘Rush, you realize, she didn’t write it.’ I don’t know that she didn’t write it. I’m not going to assume she didn’t write it… That’s another thing, that’s a good point, too, it’s pretty brave of her to do this, given Hollywood and so forth. But she’s big enough to withstand it, and it sort of makes me appreciate this Brad Pitt guy a little more. He’s gone after substance here, is all I’m saying. This really is a good piece.”

ritzy,

you are very knowledgeable about everything

what a waste of talent

amen

i love herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

i love herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Angie might not be the most qualified one but she does done her best in bringing awareness to the Iragi refugees.problems and yes, it was sad, the UN had degraded themselves using HW actors to drew awareness. but at least, it’s working. Do you have other option ?
———————————————————————————————–

What good is attention if it doesn’t lead to action.

It is not working. The UN is not about drawing attention the various crises, it’s about using that awareness and turning it into action. It doesn’t make a bit of difference how many people know about something if they do nothing about it. Those in a position to deal with these issues ie. the government are not acting, and the people are not making them. But don’t worry, I’m sure the Iraqi refugees will take heart in the fact that their plight has produced an article Rush Limbaugh has deemed worthy of praise.

The point is you dislike her in the very beginning. so everything she done is wrong, not worthy, and with motives. that’s it !
———————————————————————————————–
I don’t dislike her at all. She is an excellent actress, she’s made some great films and I have no doubt she is trying to do good. I wouldn’t call myself a fan, but I have no distaste for her personally, just the state of affairs that leads to her being a voice for the UN.

If someone is “qualified” to speak about refugees is Angelina Jolie. She is been doing this for 7 years. She has been to more countries, spoke to more refugees and workers in the field, learn more… about the refugee situation in the world than anyone i know of.

Why do think than Collin Powell think highly of her and always takes the time to speak with her. Or why Condolisa Rise takes up her busy time to listen to her?

Yikes, somebody hired a writer to malign OUR Angie.

These a*ssholes are indeed shaking in their boots. They feel threatened. They tried everything and thrown everything including the kitchen sink, yet Angie is undeterred and her star just keeps getting brighter by the day.

The more they smear Angie, the more people come to know and see her goodness and kind heart.

There are 22 pages of comments under Angie’s Washington Post article. Hmmm, them evil-doers are truly worried.

Do enjoy ritzy’s one -man show

at the jew hater lmao. People are trully sad man.

JARED UNLESS YOU HATE JEWS, PLEASE BAN THIS HATER.

Clearly you need to do some more research. The things Angelina has done pale in comparison to the hundreds of workers who do nothing but visit refugee camps (please I am not trying to put down or diminish Angelina’s work, but it is a fact). I am not one of those people, so don’t start with the wanting recognition for myself bit. That she is the most qualified person you know of is unsuprising but nonetheless sad to hear.

As for why Powell, Rice and others speak to her and of her, she is high profile and mention of her name guarantees press, which in turn makes the government look good, look pro-active. Also, and this is really minor, but they kind of have to praise UN ambassadors. If they don’t they look like jerks and this administration doesn’t need bad press.

I know you don’t.

Wow you’re right. I’d never realised it before, but the distaste I have for the UN’s exploits in the past two decades and my anger about the governments lack of action, not to mention the overriding celebrity culture I feel is partly responsible for the dumbing down of society and thus the lack of responsible action by the general population all boils down to one thing; I’m jealous of Angelina Jolie. I can’t believe I never realised it before. This changes everything!

Obviously I was wrong before. Clearly Angelina has brought about incredible change and I’m sure the government is going to help those refugees. Why, I bet their helping right now. They”ll be living the high life soon I’m sure. All hail Angelina!

Does that make you happy?

I admire Angie for putting this Op Ed piece out there. How brave as she must of known she would take all kinds of flack .Hell some people will start blaming her for the war in Iraq. I find the title misleading tho to the context of the article but if you pay close attention when reading you can see she “gets it”.
Angie’s entitled to her opinion and that’s exactly what we got after her visit to Iraq. I appreciate all of Angie’s humanitarian efforts as well as her couragous two cents . There are over 44 replies to Angie’s piece at the Washing Post site now.

You can bet FF got their rotten hateful words in there but the majority of what i read people are not interested in Angie’s past or the silly lies these women were ignored for.

Angie is amazing for the awareness she brings to the refugee conditions. She has a heart of gold. but we will always have the ignorant hateful people who hide behind their computers .
On the other side of the coin we have the caring people who read her article and praised her for her intelligence and thoughtful caring heart and not just another pretty face.

Bless you Angie !

Haven’t read all the posts here… Just dropped by to reveal some BRAD news before leaving again. If it’s already known… that’s great. If not, here goes…

Read online news from UsMagazine.com re: American Idol annual charity special Idols Give Back, airing April 9, that along with Reese Witherspoon and Miley Cyrus… Brad will also BE PRESENT!

I’ve never watched AI, or am I a fan of Seacrest… so I guess it’s with a grain of salt, not to mention, watching the special to know if it’s real or not.

Anyway… I’m gone.
‘Bye

OMG!! If the Jew Hater keeps going she might as well write a book.
LMFAO Hope the hell it get’s deleted. Rubbish!!

Off to hit the hay ..
have a nice day JP Fans.

go and support Angelina and her work for the refugees

Angelina has written articles in the past and I’m sure she has written this as well. Kudos to her and to everyone that appreciates what she and Brad are doing to help out there OWN country as well as foreign lands, despite the dramz of Hollywood.

Love and Support always to them in everything they do. :)

216 laydidah @ 03/01/2008 at 3:58 am Oh and guli I’m not a Harvard graduate, and I’m certainly not suggesting I would a better option than Angelina. But I can name a few thousand people who would be.
Well, in that case, tell the government and the UN about these thousand people who would be better. See if they listen to you, and see how many of these thousand people are willing to do what AJ has been doing for the past 6/7 years, going to awful places and paying for it herself!

The UN agencies definitely prefer high-profile, famous and beautiful celebs, because they have easy access to the media. Unknown people don’t, no matter how bright. Have a smart Harvard professor on one channel and AJ on another, discussing refugees. Who do you think most people will watch??? That’s the reality!
I would watch AJ and tape the professor to watch later. The professor has come down from his ivory tower showing a lot of theoretical knowledge, but AJ has been in the field, and she knows plenty too, and is, I’m sure, definitely nicer to watch.

Is it so crazy to think an actress, no matter how committed or eloquent, should not be the one advising the UN and the US government. I want the brightest minds in the world doing that, not someone who’s just read the briefs and spent a few days in camps. Yes, that’s great and all, but it’s not right.
Hey, you’re free to think what you want. I have a different POV!
Everyone can advise the UN and the government. I bet many of your ‘brightest minds’ don’t give a toss for refugees, and are only taking care of number one, spending their time making their fortunes. A goodwill ambassador is an unpaid job.

Instead of criticizing people who do give their time for others, we should encourage them and hope that others join them.

Apparently you’re illiterate, and have never written anything. That’s not what Rush said. Those three little dots, the size of your brain, mean there was an interruption, and the “good point” was how brave she is for writing this piece.

Obviously you are also unaware that Angie writes all the time, has written a book, and briefs world leaders on a regular basis. But someone who flunked sixth grade wouldn’t know anything about what’s going on in the world, now would you?

Oh my god…………I cannot believe what this article is saying.

I really hope that this is not her opinion.

——And Rush is a real idiot, just for this alone—–”
and it sort of makes me appreciate this Brad Pitt guy a little more. ”

she’s totally correct, i agree with all she said. I dunno much about this guy

Of course she wrote it. And she’s right.
The refugees, destruction of iraq… are consequences of a war started by the United States. And like Angelina said: it’s not only a moral obligation but it’s in the United States best interests to solve this problems before leaving Iraq.
