Zac Efron: Me & the Orson Welles Director
Zac Efron takes a moment out of his busy filming schedule to pose with director Richard Linklater while promoting their new film Me & Orson Welles.
The director-actor pair spent most of their time shooting at the Gaiety Theatre. Me & Orson Welles is set in 1937 and is about an Orson Welles production of Julius Caesar staged at New York’s famous Mercury Theatre.
A solo Zac was also seen dining by himself after a week of filming on the tiny Isle of Man.

Well we’ll see if this movie sucks or not. You know, it really annoys me how people call Zac untalented just because he chose to kickstart his career with the High School Musical films. He hasn’t had the chance to showcase his true talent yet, and I’m glad he is getting the chance with these two new films. I’m personally really looking forward to this film and Seventeen Again and they’re definitely not gonna bomb, if only for Efron’s teenage fans.

This is after Richard breaks all ties with Orson Welles and is on the roof of the Mercury Theater.
I walked along the edge of the roof. I studied the city rising in its towers and wires—and I thought: What if I closed my eyes? What if I counted to five, and then opened my eyes again, and the whole city would be made perfect—and everything under the face of God would be exactly where it was supposed to be, and everyone would be doing exactly what he was supposed to be doing, and every speck of dust would be exactly in place? I shut my eyes and imagined the world turning to such a paradise, and I counted to five—and I opened my eyes and saw the city exactly as it had been before. Unaltered. Traffic passed. Somewhere below a neon light blinked.
And I thought: Could this be paradise? Maybe every particle of dust is exactly where it’s supposed to be. Every turning, every heartache, every atom—exactly where it could only be? You people who are so critical of Zac’s acting abilities: Why is it that Adam Shankman was so taken with Zac’s talent after doing Hairspray with him that he created 17 Again for him? Now Richard Linklater is singing his praises too as well as the producers of this film. Seem to me that if nothing else Zac is doing a great job at acting like he can act and these guys don’t seem to have caught on yet. But then again, they are the experts and you people are not. Envious and resentful is what you people are because this guy is doing so well and getting noticed and you are not.

Zac must be really working long hours according to the producer. He doesn’t get much time off it would seem. But then again, it is an independent film and they really film them quickly so no time to be lazy. I thought what the producer said was sweet about wanting to do more for the crowd—so they must be there every day even though we haven’t been seeing them.

Oh, my…1930s, 1960s, present day…is there a time period Zac doesn’t look great in?!! LOL.
But, seriously, that was very cool seeing the press conference and hearing from the director and producers. I am really excited for this movie since the book was fabulous. Malia - I feel like they’ll have to have some voiceover work…at least, I really hope they do because there’s a lot of great “thinking” for Richard’s character that we might miss out on otherwise…which is no reflection on Zac and his ability to portray different thoughts/emotions, but just some of the real specific humorous and poignant thoughts, etc. Anyway, seeing the photos, Zac has really become the Richard I imagined. Good stuff.
And, it sounds like he’s having long, busy days…6:30am to 7pm…then dinner, then, knowing healthy Zac, he probably does some working out then and fits some time into his day to chat with Miss V at some point of course. With this kind of schedule, I’m sure the time is just flying by for him.

Yes, that ended up getting him a lot of attention, but he had shown himself to be talented and promising before that came his way. Being autistic, involved with murder, abused, comically part of a dysfunctional family…and believable in every role…His latest films will continue to allow Zac to shine. :-)

It’s obvious that the people who criticize Zac’s acting, know absolutely nothing about him.
They are from that demented group called “celebrity haters.” According to psychologists, it is now classified as a disease in our society that afflicts people who cannot have any measure of success in their own lives.
Also, anyone who has seen Miracle Run (for which Zac was nominated for best young actor award) knows Zac is a damned good actor.
And here is what Adam Shankman, director of HS and producer of 17 Again has to say about Zac’s acting:

loved your quote from the book, it was a very powerful moment in the story!!!!
and zac fan–i agree with you zac that doing narration for the story would be incredible. the first thing that struck me when i started reading the book was that it was written as a first person narrative and all i think about was zac’s voice giving rise to Richard’s thoughts throughout the movie. to say the idea made me swoon is an understatement :lol:
and again, i flove this hairstyle on him, i love his hair anyway he wears it, but his just makes him look gorgeous, b/c he isn’t hiding that beautiful face.
and as for his acting ability, he has proven he can act, and i dare say we haven’t even seen the best of him yet. the producers of hairspray even commented that zac’s portrayal of link was unlike any other. they stated that he was able to bring a vulnerability and sincerity to the character that no other link had previously possessed, and he made it his own.
his other works have shown his abilities as well, and i think this movie in particular will really showcase what he’s made of, and boost his career to the next level!

From what the producer said in the interview that much of the time Zac is starting work at 6:30 and working until 7 or 8 probably means he has very little time to sit around the hotel room. He probably enjoys just going to chill out and unwind a little while he eats his dinner. He probably finds it relaxing to be by himself and that way if he should be making a phone call which is private, he won’t be interrupted. I’m sure once he gets back to that room he gets ready for bed since he has to get up so early. And as the producer said he is very focused at getting this movie done so he needs a lot of rest.

They have the Gaiety Theater on the Isle of Man booked through March 14th for the filming of Me and Orson Welles. They were at Pinewood Studios in London from February 11th through February 23rd. So, they may be finished with filming on March 14th.
One of the bands, Joker, that is in the movie Will said that they would be filming the movie from February 4th through March 31st.

I did notice on the website for Joker it said in their schedule how they are to finish filming “Will” on March 31 at 8PM. Now I don’t know if Vanessa will be part of that or not or if she will be done with her part in the movie, but we know that Joker is scheduled to be doing something on March 31.
go sox, I think Zac might be a big disruption on the set of Will also. Unless he could slip in and out without notice—which I doubt—he probably would stay away. BUT if he would get home by the 15th or 16th, then Vanessa could come home to LA on her days off like she has before. Also, I would think maybe the cast would have off on Easter weekend which is March 22 and 23. If Vanessa had that Thursday and Friday off, then that would be an excellent time for her to come back home—it seems to me like it would, at least. LOL
I thought Zac was filming until the end of March.

How can someone be arrested in a California bar when they are in Austin, Texas (have been for the past month) working 8 AM till 9 PM, filming a movie???? Even the stupidest tween-age fan would know the story is not true. Because they know what Vanessa is doing and will be doing for the next three months.
Sad that your magazine has joined the ranks of Star, OK and the other tabloid rags.
If anyone on your staff has a conscience, you will issue an apology in the magazine as well as a written one to Vanessa Hudgens.

I think the band, Joker, is going to be one of the bands that’s in the bandslam competition. Vanessa will be singing with the band that Will puts together called, “I can’t go on, I’ll go on.” They will be competing with each other.
But Joker does sound good. Especially in the song they had on their My Space.
So since the bandslam shooting is done, maybe V will be coming home soon..I mean Aly is the main character I thought, so V wouldn’t have as many scenes to shoot as her anyway…

You, know, I got to admit that some people who plead for someone to tell them where Gabe lives bothers the heck out of me. I’m not saying all people who want to know the area where Zac lives is planning to stalk him but there are others who I’m not so sure about. So, when someone comes on and says “Please, tell me where he lives and a couple posts later says the same thing…. People, I hope you have better sense than to go off acting ridiculous. I say that because when you sound rather “needy” on this board, I fear you would not know how to act properly if you met him. These celebrities have every right to be a little scared at times when meeting SOME of their “fans”.

zac should be scared of me and my stalker-ness i went to LA a few weeks ago …more like a lot of weeks ago and on rodeo drive and saw a yellow lambo. and a camera crew. I FREAKED OUT!we followed the camera crew for like a bloack and a half…then finally asked them what they were filming…thinking it was 17 again…but it wasn’t :[
also i was in studio city that same weekend and pulled into the parking lot of LA fitness...just shot some pics because it totally was his gym! then as we pull out to leave a BLACK AUDI pulls in and i freeeeak out, so we pull back into the parking lot and wait for the driver to get out. sadly it wasn't him...but that's where im at...so obsessed with him :]

zac is finishing up filming at the Isle Of Man this weekend. So he should be back in the US sometime next week. He might be going to NYC to film more scenes, but if he isn’t needed, then he will probably go back to LA, unless he decides to head to Austin to visit Vanessa.

According to what I’ve herd on the net Zac’s films wrapped this weekend and they have already had the wrap party.
So maybe he’ll be heading back to L.A for a while after all he’s been away for a bit so I dafe say like anyone ese who’s been away he will have things to check up on before starting HSM3.
Not long to go now before all the HSM gang are back together for one last time.
