David Archuleta has to be the next American Idol… fantastic. Can’t believe a kid could sing with so much soul and emotion. Achingly beautiful performance.
Tonight is the first time I’ve watched the contestants sing and that was here on these clips so I havent seen Archuleta’s “innocent” act and wasn’t influenced by anything other than is phenomenal singing voice and style. He is the one to beat. He is better than good. He will be a star no matter what.

I voted for Archuleta last night. Although, Hernandez in my opinion had the better night. David A. is my favorite thats why I picked him. He has the better voice all around in my opinion.
Gosh - I don’t like his combover, but tonight David Cook won me over with his rendition of Hello. It took me three lines before all of a sudden it kicked in what song that was. He rocked it - I’m still thinking about it today. I wish that was on the radio right now.
However, with that said - - I mad love Michael Johns… he picked “the” perfect song for him. He is so hot - he will do well no matter what. His voice is just so sultry and sexy - he is smoking!
I also really enjoyed David Castro. My whole family doesn’t like him, but ever since he sang that Andy Gibb song “I just want to be your everything” even though the judges trashed him on it - I loved it. I love his voice, his sound he is unique.
I think Chickeeze and Luke (I’m so glad someone else thought he looked like Orlando too!) should go home. They are definitely the worst of the guys who really all can sing. David Noriega, even though he is a piece of work and what some may call this years Sanjeya (sp?) he really actually can sing - so its kind of hard not to let the guy be in the top 12.
And David Archuletta - trash him all you want because that boy is a star already. He is just amazing, whether his sweetness is just an act or not - who cares. He has an amazing God given talent and I’m sure that he will win this competition.
p.s. I don’t think any of the girls tonight will hold a candle to this crop of guys. A guy will definitely win this year. I still have yet to remember ANY of the girl performances from weeks past - nothing has stood out, which means they are all mediocre.
