Harlow Madden’s Photo Album

People magazine has a great photo album of cutie Harlow Madden, almost 8 weeks.

Proud parents Nicole Richie, 26, and Joel Madden, 28, had a lot to say about their daughter.

Nicole on the uniqueness of Harlow’s name: I wanted a hippie name and he wanted a more Biblical name. (Joel cites the actress Jean Harlow and model Shalom Harlow as two major inspirations.)

Joel on how their lives have changed since having a baby: “We have a very mellow life compared to two years ago, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Nicole on having a mother’s instinct: “She’s never out of my mind. I stop doing things for me anymore. Everything is for her.”

Nicole on Harlow waking up from a nap: “I was watching her in her crib. And she happened to wake up and I was like, ‘Good morning!” And she smiled and it was the cutest thing ever.”

FYI: Nicole and Joel play her lullaby versions of Radiohead and Nirvana songs for baby Harlow. And according to industry insiders, this issue featuring Nicole also on target to sell more than 1.8 million copies, whereas Christina Aguilera’s cover with her son Max is selling far less.

The only thing she needs to be careful of is that “I stop doing things for myself.” That’s how a lot of happy housewives and moms end up divorced and having issues with parenting. You can’t lose your own identity or you could end up resenting the kids and the husband.

#11, give me a break. When you have kids, it’s called sacrafice. you can still look good, work out, and take care of the home. Sheez. What she probably means is giving up her selflessness. Get it?
As far as Xtina and Nicole go, they are two different attractions. personally, I think more women (or men) relate to Nicole’s softer side, the non-IN YOU FACE interview. Xtina is viewed more as that diva, and she hid her pregnancy so long. It was stupid, people might’ve been turned off by that. In other words, Xtina tries to hard, Joel and Nicole look like it comes naturally and welcome….

ya-da-ya-ya-da!! , I’ve neve heard the agerage John and Jane describe parenting and newborn like celebrities do. One thing people have to know is childrearing is not as glamourous as the celebrities make it sound. Even Beyonce admitted that from her experience at babysitting her sister’s kid.

A baby looks cute in a photo and when visitors are around, but that’s not waht they do all day! wake -up!
I don’t deny the purity and beauty of a new born though!

So true! I think Joel is more prepared for the baby. After being in a band, touring, fame and all that jazz, he could long for a more comforting, stable existence.

Nicole is going to have to grow up quickly. I hope she’s had enough of the insanity.

Hopefully, they will grow together and if they hit a few snags, work them out, but mostly stay committed to love and care for each other and especially this little sweet thing they have brought into the world.

It would be great if they beat the odds and get married, but only if they are happy and truly want to do it. I hope they will.

Harlow is so lucky to have Joel Madden as her father. I’ve been a fan of Good Charlotte for about five years and all I can say that Joel is an amazing person with a good soul. He’ll be a great father.
