Abbey Dawn: Avril Lavigne’s New Clothing Line

Rocker chick Avril Lavigne is teaming up with retailer Kohl’s to launch her own clothing line in July, reports USA Today

The juniors’ collection, named Abbey Dawn after Avril’s childhood nickname, will be “a lot of hot pinks and blacks and stars and purple and zebra. Basically, everything I wear. I have a very particular style. I want it to be available to a lot of girls, and I want it to be affordable. I walked through (a Los Angeles) Kohl’s the other day and said, ‘Oh, when my line is here it’s totally going to stand out.”

Proving she’s more than just a performer, Avril added, “I actually am the designer. What’s really important to me is that everything fits well and is well-made, so I try everything on and approve it all. I’m making sure that I think people in their 20s are going to wear it because it’s going to be a sexy fit, not just, ‘Oh, T-shirts and hoodies.’ The hoodies are slimming. It’s not a thick, bulky material.”

Pieces from Abbey Dawn will range from $24 to $48.

And fashion isn’t the only new venture Avril, 23, is pursuing. Says Lavigne, “I want to — it’s just going to sound crazy, but I’m going to make it happen — I want a film career,”

i am super excited to go school shopping now! as soon as i heard you were doing clothing i was like so happy. cause you know i like alot of things from hottopic but its kinda expensive and my mom likes to shop at places like target and kohls and i never really liked anything in there cause its too plain and girly you know, but now that your stuff is gonna be there… lets just say i am going to be rockin the abbey dawn wear to school!

thank you so much, you are so talented i always say to myself if i was going to be famous i would be just like you, someone who dosent try to fit in with the crowd and is just theirself. i admire you so much!!!

oh and by the way i know you will do great with films, i loved fast food nation (i actually only watched it cause i heard you were in it!) and over the hedge, i look at opposums differently now haha

and i know you will do great because you are a hard worker and i beleive that you can accomplish anything you want.

I actually bought an “Abbey Dawn” tee a couple of days ago. The material is very light, and the design is quite cute. I paid $24 for it and even though that’s kind of steep, I think true fans of Avril will WANT to but something from her new line. Her clothes are cheaper than the clothes in Hot Topic, so I’m relieved that she’s not selling her stuff there. All you haters are obviously interested enough to waste your time commenting. But w/e, haters make her famous!

I can not belive Avril wants an acting career. I mean sure she can try put just ’cause your pretty and have a GREAT voice doesn’t mean you can be an actress too. I’m sure it’d not easy. I love u, still, Avril.

wow, everybodys comments are annoying the hell out of me.

first of all, when she used to complain about kids copying her she was like 19 she 23 now. I think she grew up.

second of all, everyone saying,”buying her whole outfit is copying her.” Yeah no its not if she’s selling the clothes she wants you to buy a whole outfit so I doubt that’s copying her.

Thirdly, no **** 14 year olds will buy this. The clothing is for teens last time I checked 29 is not considered a teen.

how about we all stop trying to seem “cool” over the internet and shut your ******* mouth. People will buy what they like and who cares who designs it.
If micheal jackson designed clothes people would buy it reguarless if he touches kids.

avril rocks. i think her style is really unique and not something you can put together from stuff you buy at hot topic.
and whoever helen is that wrote this –> “i bet its all 14 year olds who like to talk about death and smoke pot who wear this” obviously has no social skills and has never talked to ppl that dress the same way avril does. i do and i’ve never smoked pot and i love life. not all ppl that dress in this style hate their life and smoke.
