OlderPatrick Swayze Has Terminal Cancer
Patrick Swayze has terminal cancer and only has five weeks to live, reports The National Enquirer.
The 55-year-old Dirty Dancing actor was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs. Swayze has been receiving treatment at Stanford University’s cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy.
“He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure,” said an insider.
The NY Post has confirmed the news with his publicist, saying, “He’s suffering from pancreatic cancer, which could tragically bring down the curtain on his remarkably diverse career… The average life expectancy is six to nine months, with only 4 percent of patients living more than five years.”

UPDATE: Swayze’s doctor, Dr. Patrick George, tells People: “Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.”
Swayze’s rep adds: “Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

Praying for a miracle for him. He’s a good actor and a very nice guy. Im sure his close friends Demi Moore, esp Tom Cruise friends with him since the Outsiders, many of his loved-ones and fans will be there for him.

Poor Patrick. Michael Landon died of Pancreatic cancer too. I think he was gone in 6 weeks.

He’s way to young, so much more living to do. My heart breaks. He was so wonderful in Ghost and Dirty Dancing. As I recall, he stayed married to the same woman. A really stand-up guy.

This makes me really sad. My grandmother died a few years ago because of pancreatic cancer, and I know it is a very lethal cancer, probably the worst one. And I’ve enjoyed Patrick’s work so much, I cannot count how many times i’ve watched Ghost and how many times i’ve cried watching it.

Patrick Swayze and his wife, Lisa, are among the few really decent and respectable people in Hollywood. No one, except God, can understand why this happens to someone that is so young and so good. It just breaks my heart to read this about Patrick or anyone else.
I know it’s a really hard form of cancer to beat, but I sincerely hope he can pull through.

That doesn’t mean they dislike kids. It doesn’t mean anything. Everyone’s situation in this world is different. Alot of people have children that have no business having children.
