OlderPatrick Swayze Has Terminal Cancer
Patrick Swayze has terminal cancer and only has five weeks to live, reports The National Enquirer.
The 55-year-old Dirty Dancing actor was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs. Swayze has been receiving treatment at Stanford University’s cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy.
“He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure,” said an insider.
The NY Post has confirmed the news with his publicist, saying, “He’s suffering from pancreatic cancer, which could tragically bring down the curtain on his remarkably diverse career… The average life expectancy is six to nine months, with only 4 percent of patients living more than five years.”

UPDATE: Swayze’s doctor, Dr. Patrick George, tells People: “Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.”
Swayze’s rep adds: “Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

Patrick is such a wonderful and talented man. I wish him and his family strength and all the prays in the world. Just remeber miracles do happen, keep positive, and don’t let anything get you down.

Patrick - you continue to be positive. My mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer the same time, the same diagnosis, she died 5 weeks later. Now my sister has been diagnosed with it, the cancer hasn’t spread, she has a very good chance. She’s at UCLA right now taking care of it.

Knowing what the challenge is makes the battle on a more even playing field. As I told my sister (a cancer survivor) only let in the good and positive. Surround it around you and NEVER listen to the negative or sad. These are wasted energy. My sister has a saying…breath in, breath out…move on! You will have ups/downs but let the ups come more than the downs. You will continue to give greatness n all that you do. And the world will be a better place for everyday that you are a part of its exsistance. You are being sent wishes of strength, hope and most of all, love. none of us know exactly when or how……..but we all will check out one way or another. my cousin, lasted about 6 weeks with pancreatic cancer. she was a superb lady.
