OlderPatrick Swayze Has Terminal Cancer
Patrick Swayze has terminal cancer and only has five weeks to live, reports The National Enquirer.
The 55-year-old Dirty Dancing actor was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs. Swayze has been receiving treatment at Stanford University’s cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy.
“He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure,” said an insider.
The NY Post has confirmed the news with his publicist, saying, “He’s suffering from pancreatic cancer, which could tragically bring down the curtain on his remarkably diverse career… The average life expectancy is six to nine months, with only 4 percent of patients living more than five years.”

UPDATE: Swayze’s doctor, Dr. Patrick George, tells People: “Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.”
Swayze’s rep adds: “Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

I knew Patsy and Patrick when my daughter took dance lessons from Patrick’s Mom, Patsey in Houston years ago. I’d watch him dance and leap thru the air like a beatuiful deer. I’ve followed hs career thru the years and hae watched Dirty Dancing, my favorite Patrick film at least 50 times, knowing nearly every line. I was so saddened to hear of his illness and as I watch him in Beast now, I can see the changes in him. My prayers are with him and his family. I pray for a miracle recovery for this very special man. We love you Patrick.. (((Warm Hugs)))
I read all the articles about Patrick and I am so sadden about his illness he is one of my favorite actors. I hope and pray for his recovery never give up Patrick never give up,

Patrick, I have been impressed to pray for you over the past several weeks. OMG! I was just watching Dirty Dancing the other day and just found out about his cancer.
I had no idea, I dont pay much attention to these types of things b/c its their own personal business but this is awful.
I hope you get better Patrick ~ I do serve a God who can change all this and make the docs wonder where the cancer went to.
