Vanessa Hudgens chats away on her iPhone on the Texas set of her latest movie, Will.
The film centers on a high school outcast and a popular girl who form an unlikely bond through their shared love of music. Assembling a like-minded crew of misfits, the friends form a rock group and perform in the battle of the bands competition at their school.
Earlier this week, for her character, the 18-year-old High School Musical star was seen performing on stage with a Gibson Flying V guitar.

This all is my opinion. It’s okay if you don’t agree. I just want to make a point.
My question is really simple: Why do you hate Vanessa:
Because most people hate her because of her scandal. I’m really sorry that I bring it up again. I know we all want to forget it. But who are you to judge her on those photo’s. It was her decision. And it was a few years ago. She is a teenager, she has a lot to learn. Like all of us. So what, she made a mistake, don’t we all. I mean she has to live with so many people seeing her naked and all you can think off she deserves it. If she hadn’t done it it wouldn’t have happened. But do you really think that when she was 16 she would have known: “Oh, when I’m older I’m going to star in High School Musical and become really famous. No, I don’t think so. And she didn’t even had a reason to apologize. I mean it’s her life and her decision. But still she apologized. So why can’t you appreciate that. She didn’t even lie about it. Many of you said that her mother was crazy that she didn’t punish her or whatever. But don’t you think that is punishment enough. She will always stay a role model to me and many other fans.
Or is it because you like Ashley:
Many fans think that just because they like Ashley they have to hate Vanessa. They feel like the need to choose. But that’s not true. I mean they are best friends. Ashley even calls Vanessa her twin sister. So they must be really close. And what do you do, you bash her best friend. Do you really think she would appreciate that? Just think about it. They are 2 really beautiful, amazing young woman. Why choose if you could be a fan of both. (Although I’m a bigger Vanessa fan, Ashley is really great too).
Or is it because she took Zac away from you or she is the reason Zashley doesn’t exist:
I just have 1 question. Who has to live the life with one of them. Zac, don’t you think so. So what gives you the right to decide who she should be with. It’s obvious that Zac is really into Vanessa (Look at those pictures of the palm springs festival). And many many more pictures and sayings of him about Vanessa prove that. He and Ashley are friends. Why can’t you just Accept that. I also heard that people were teasing Zac because he had a poster of Vanessa hanging in his room (I thought that was so sweet). Also Ashley is dating Jared. And she looks really that. So you as a fan should appreciate that. And Vanessa didn’t take Zac away from you. Do you really think you have a chance with him. Vanessa makes him happy. And as a fan of Zac you should be happy if he is happy. No matter if you don’t like the person he is with. So just be happy for both of them. It is really rare to find your true love at such a young age. I think they are both lucky to find each other. It was fate. And people say Zac is too good for Vanessa. How do you know that? Do you know him personally? No, I thought so. Most people just look at the looks. It isn’t about looks. And even if it was, Vanessa is really beautiful so even than he isn’t too good for her. And he doesn’t think he is too good for her. If he did he would have dumped her a long time ago. I mean they have been together for more than 2 years by now. That has to mean something. And people think it is only for publicity. If it was then they really are good actors. I mean if they can act the way they look at each other. They really deserves an award for that. And really I really think there love for each other is really strong. I mean they make so much people happy. For example I saw those palm springs festival photos at Sunday at the next day I had school after a holiday. I really didn’t want to go. The whole day I was sad because the nest day I needed to go to school. I know I’m crazy but I really hate school. But than I saw those photos and I was squealing like crazy because I was so happy. There love can make so many people happy and we aren’t even in it. They really inspire me. And I also heard that at the thunderbirds premiere when they didn’t even knew each other Zac said in an interview that he wanted t work with that girl (meaning Vanessa). And what happened a few years later they work together in High School Musical like Zac said is was fate. And he thinks she brings a sparkle to everything. If that isn’t love than I don’t know what is! And why support Zashley or Zikki or any other couple if you can support a couple that actually exists.
Vanessa really is amazing. I mean she becomes really annoyed with the paparazzi, but still she takes the time to greet them. And she really cares about her family. She is like a normal girl even though she is so famous. And there are some people who hate her because she is more famous than your favorite actress. There is no need for that. I mean she didn’t do that. It’s because we all like her. And really you don’t have to be a fan of hers or you don’t have to like her. Just don’t bash her. She really doesn’t dese

I know it won’t matter to you but Cosmo Girl withdrew that article because it was false. It was proven with pictures that she wasn’t even in LA but was in in Austin, Texas at the time. It is REALLY HARD to get arrested in LA when you are actually in Austin where there is movie cameras all around filming you. How MUCH proof do you need to know that rumor was a lie??
There was also another website blasting the Cosmo Girl report because there was no proof of what they had written and they even had pictures to disprove it. So there!

I was finally able to get my email sent to Cosmo Girl last night.
In my email I pointed out the truly horrible thing they had done to Vanessa was when they printed the story many saw that but IF they printed an apology and retraction it would be so late many of those same people would NOT see the apology. However, as I tried to point out to them the ones who saw the original article would have already run off and told many more impressionable people these lies which could only hurt the innocent person here, Vanessa. So, the damage is already done.
I think shows like Access and Entertainment Tonight should have this on their show to try to get the truth out to as many as possible. I asked CG if they hated Vanessa that much and were that desperate for hits. Do they think she needs or wants any kind of publicity she can get? I sometimes think some of these people think “Well, she will be happy to get out of that ‘teen’ mold and will be grateful.” Some people never like lies told about them.

For those of you that are squealing with joy at the fact a rumor has been posted about Vanessa being arrested, take this on board. If, and I know it is not true, Vanessa had been arrested for underage drinking surely her mug shot would be all over the internet by now, just like what happened before. I don’t believe websites should make up rumors about people, especially not people as vulnerable as Vanessa, but if they are going to, they need to find visual evidence. Think about it, when you don’t have visual evidence that Zac has been spending time with Vanessa, you brand it untrue, yet when you don’t have visual evidence for something you wish to happen you jump the gun and assume it to be real.
Also, numerous pictures of Vanessa on the set of ‘Will’ have been coming up, if she was supposed to be in Hollywood at this time, then why would there be pictures of her in Austin, Texas? I guess what I am trying to say is, there is no evidence, and no possible way Vanessa could have been arrested in Hollywood at the time branded, so obviously this story has got to be yet another petty rumor made by someone who wants more hits on their site. If you don’t like Vanessa, why do you waste most of your life, arguing as to why Vanessa is not a good role model. Guys, she made a mistake, you’re just choosing to bare a grudge. I’m sure somewhere in your life, you have done something you are not proud of - whatever it may be. I know I have, and we have to learn from our mistakes and the mistakes made by the people around us. I know this comment will not change any of your views, as you are all too stubborn, but I have to get my point across as I can’t stand people being made out to be something they are not. I’m not the type of person that will sit back and have people make lies about other people, I know Vanessa made a mistake, but she didn’t deserve this.
Just think, when Vanessa was a teenager, she would have rebelled - obviously, all teenagers do stuff they are going to regret when they are older. What if all of your mistakes came out to show the world, just when your life was starting to become at an ultimate high. For example - if you have done something that you regret, and millions of people have seen your mistake - how would you feel? Infact, I know that deep down, you know that you would feel awful if you had hypocrites going against you for your mistake when they too have made some other mistake in their life - even if it is not major.

I find it interesting that the columnist who wrote that article described Vanessa as “shyly friendly.” It reminded me of Gregg ’s post from December I believe (it was after Vanessa returned from Miami) when he said he met Vanessa and said “she was friendly but guarded.”
I think that’s just a facet of Vanessa’s personality that some people mistake for being “sttuck-up” or “stand-offish.” I just think she’s someone who isn’t too open when you first meet her. That she has to get to know you before she lets you in. I’m much the same way.

Yes, I listened to that podcast. He said that he was hesitant to approach Vanessa and SHE came up to him and introduced herself. He said she was really nice and very pretty. He was trying to figure out where she was sitting at lunch so he could sit with her. :)

Your website published an allegation that Vanessa Hudgens of high school musical fame had been caught drinking in Hollywood and had later been arrested for underage drinking. The article went on adding that vanessa’s own mother was now labelling her daughter as “stupid”.
I have always had great respect for the Cosmogirl brand and had faith and trust in its publications to deliver factual, honest and concise content, however cosmogirls’s recent publishing of this “gossip” and its subsequent way of dealing with the realisation that this information was deeply misinformed has upset and angered me.
I’m sure I don’t need to go into detail about just how completely false this article was as I’m certain you already realise your mistake since the article is no longer available. However I will make reference to another article, printed in light of your own, which highlights the facts - Vanessa was in Texas at the time of the alleged arrest (there is photographic evidence) and the source which you referenced had in fact referenced someone else, who referenced….no one! I completely agree with this article’s writer, Rachel Baumbach, in saying that this error was “the height of irresponsible journalism”. Before today, this is something I would not have expected from cosmogirl.
The fact that the article has now disappeared with no explanation proves to me that cosmogirl is dishonest and disrespectful. I don’t think this is a good example to your many readers, including myself. Your company has made a gross error of judgement in running this story and as a result has tarnished the image of an otherwise law abiding citizen. I do not believe that this is something you can ’sweep under the rug’ so to speak. If your company would like to win back the respect of its readers who read this misinformed article I would suggest that your publication publish a public apology to Ms. Hudgens on the same webpage the article appeared on.
I would appreciate if you would respond to this e-mail with your thoughts on this matter.

I feel like we have to go about these stupid arguments every time there is a Vanessa posting! I know that no matter what anyone posts, there are still dumb people who don’t even read previous posts and just comment the same things over and over again, but that’s ok.
1. Yes, there was a FALSE article posted about Vanessa being arrested. Key word there being FALSE. There is no way she could have been in the location that the article claimed because
A. There are shots of her on that certain date on the set of her new film.
B. If she had been arrested, her mug shot would have been all over the news & internet AND there would most likely have been pictures too.
C. There is a slim chance that should could have went AND come back THROUGH LAX without the paps seeing her. I mean, I bet there’s a group of paps who are assigned to just sit around at LAX and see who passes through.
D. Why would she be looking so cheery if she had just been arrested? How would she even be in Texas?
E. They claimed that her mom made a staement about how Vanessa action was ’stupid’ and even wiothout personally knowing her, you can tell that it is TOTALLY not something she would say, at all.
2. If you like Vanessa, awesome. If you don’t, that’s ok. If you want to post on here that she’s not your fav celeb, that’s cool too. We don’t care, we love her. You really aren’t going to change our minds, especially since most of your accusations are not true.

I have a feeling her taking legal action would lead to a lot more crticism. I’d rather have her come out as the stronger person and show that the lie CosmoGirl posted won’t affect her and won’t stop her from doing what she loves to do. Proving them wrong by showing that she is above all that tabloid junk is the best form of revenge right now.

How ironic! Someone leaked V’s private pictures, she apologised publicly immediately to her fans without making any excuses and she is still being crucufied for not being a good role model. A so-called respectable magazine like Cosmogirl, who, I might add, caters to the same fan base as V falsely accuses a young girl publicly of something she did not do and does not have the grace or integrity to apologise without making excuses until V’s fans deluged them with angry emails, yet the self-righteous people who still attack V are happy to ignore that.
Who is the better role model? Who better can demonstrate to kids that it takes strength and maturity to say sorry and admit to mistakes? Heck, even politicians and spouses are still learning how to say sorry with grace.
Well, Cosmogirl, V came out tops in this. I’m so happy she did not even acknowledge that she’s heard of your silly accusations and is obviously having a blast in Texas.

I agree susanna. I don’t think that filing a lawsuit against them would do any good. People would just make her out to be some greedy kid, which she is the total opposite from.
I think that she should release a statement to the press that tels them about the wrong thing that happenned to her and how she has decided to act; just not against them but to prove them wrong. I think the best thing that she can do is to keep her head up high and prove them wrong. Show them that she is ten times the person they make her out to be. They tried to ruin her image and she should show the public what kind of magazine they REALLY are and that this has hapenned to other starlets as well and it goes unnoticed every time.

Well, I certainly enjoyed the eating. Stayed with good friends who made me feel like family. They took me everywhere they went even to their anglican church (I’m Catholic, though not a good one) and to the docs . unfortunately, weather was too hot for sightseeing so didn’t like going out much. It felt like being in the sahara desert. No wonder the aussies here are so bronzed and golden, real healthy looking.It’s only just beginning to cool down. Good for you Spring is round the corner. For me it’s back to the humid & warm weather in malaysia.

I think the editors at Cosmogirl were probably surprised at the backlash, I think they probably thought that since they are essentially a “teen mag” that covers fashion trends, teen issues, whose the latest hot teen celebritiys nobody would make a fuss. I mean it’s just Cosmogirl not “Time Magazine”, nobody reads “Cosmogirl” looking for hard news. So no big deal, right?
BZZZTT WRONG!! Turns out they are still held to the same basic journalistic standards as any other publiciation. It’s basic Journalism 101 -I know because I’ve taken that class-check your sources. Then double check your sources. Triple check after that. And if there’s time before the story airs or sees print go back and check them again. You cross every T and dot ever I.
This mess I’m sure was a nice sharp slap in the fact to them I’m sure. Hopefully they’ll remember this will not allow something like this to happen again.

Some comments for the “belly-watchers”:
Remember when Zac was released from the hospital after his surgery and went to grab some food with Vanessa and Ashley at Paty’s. Some people said that Nessa looked awfully thin in the pictures and maybe she had some eating disorders. They said that without thinking about how worried anyone (in general) becomes when hearing a close relative/friend had undergone surgery. I’m sure Vanessa was worried as hell and the last thing she thought about was eating properly. (I say that although I cannot read her mind. For me it sounds logical.)
Now some of you say she is fat and should lose some weight. Personally, I think she looks gorgeous and healthy. But if you have a closer look at the pictures you can see she’s walking and probably this “pose” (movement) makes her loose clothes look a bit strange. Yes, I can see her dress is a bit thightened around her belly but who cares. The thing she is happy (look at her face!) and healthy make me happy as well.
Others are afraid she’s pregnant with her co-star’s, Gaelan Connell’s baby although they met only some weeks ago. This is ridiculous because if you have ever attended biology classes you should know how many months need to be passed since a pregnancy becomes visible. And I’m talking about months and not weeks!
Others again - I think the hopelessly romantic fans of Zanessa - started to speculate about her being pregnant with Zac’s baby. And as much I want to believe some day they will have their own children I doubt they have made such a huge decision recently. Both of them said in various (reliable!) newspaper articles they are too young to get married - and now you think they are expecting their first child? Come on, it does not make sense! And I do not want to say negative things about you, no. I only would like to warn you how bad it is to jump into conclusions without thinking through things in a more logical way.

These were my first thoughts after reading the comments above. This is, of course, my opinion but I hope you could catch what I wanted to say without feeling insulted. I can only suggest you that you should have faith in them and cross your fingers for their happiness and health. Because that’s the only thing that matters, I think.

People are always either saying that V is either too skinny (like when zac was having surgery & when she was out to breakfast with her family wearing that juicy couture tracksuit) or that she looks pregnant, like right here.
Every camera at so many different angles makes you look different in every picture. Though I’m sure most of us haven’t been photographed as much as Vanessa, we’ve still had our picture taken and we know which way to pose for the came; what is our best side. And I’m sure Vanessa knows that to, but she’s not posing for the paps. They just take as many pictures of her as they want, from whatever angle they can. That’s why she always looks different. So please, just try and think about things logically before you make assumptions.

I I’m not exactly ecstatic about the fact that there are going to be new characters, like lohan, who will be a big focus in the new movie and possibly overshadow the other characters like zeke, kelci, etc. But if you think about it, what else are they supposed to do? I mean, if they just focused on sharpay trying to be on top, troy and gabriella doing a musical, I mean it would be the EXACT SAME as the first hsm. What else would they talk about? Their best move, I think, is to add other characters to create a little more drama, some other kind of evil plan where sharpay isn’t the one leading it. Idn just my opinion though.
I think they can have a good movie if they have the other characters (chad, taylor, kelsi,martha etc) do more. They can bring in other but not to overshadow the already established characters

lorana-ness…..all nicely said. Cameras are deceiving with their angles. No one likes every picture taken of themselves, because sometimes we look FAT in one, and not in another!!! Vanessa looks beautiful, healthy, and happy. I don’t think the dress looks tight ANYWHERE! Not sure where you see a J-LO butt…the dress is hanging loosely from her bottom!! It’s so weird how people see different things in pictures!
Natalie, I think I’m going to nicely disagree with you on new characters in the movie! Senior year of high school is FILLED with big decisions, issues with friends, sports, proms, college, etc. I think they have MORE than enough storylines with all that, and the other movies didn’t focus on the secondary characters at all, like Kelci, Zeke, and even Ryan. If they concentrated on all of the original characters, and developed them more as well, I think they’d finish up with this group and tie up all their loose ends before they graduate. Also the movie really doesn’t need to be much longer in length, so why add new characters we don’t know and don’t care to know? Just my thoughts on this one……..

I think they should introduce new characters in a new DC original movie, for a few reasons. Having a fresh start gives them a chance to be successful on their own. Throwing them into the original cast opens them up to being compared and honestly, no one will compare to this cast. I also think if they put them in HSM 3, it would take away from the original 6, and they’re the ones we want to see end high school together!! Let’s hear it……. NO NEW CHARACTERS!!!

About the new people for HSM3, etc. I don’t believe we need new students for this movie. I want to see ALL 10 originals in the movie. Zeke has a connection with Sharpay and Kelsi has a connections because of the music, etc. So I want to see them in the movie more too at their supporting best. We always need Jason for those comic relief moments too.
Anyway, since this is a big movie production and since we’ve heard it is to be rated PG-13, then I believe Disney will be aiming at having it geared at a more “mature” level—which I think should be if they are going to concern themselves with the senior year. A good many of us have been there and know there are many “grown-up” decisions going on for 17-18 year olds. If they go in these directions with our originals, then only maybe a couple new people would be needed to help the action along. This should not be a movie to “help” promote new characters along for the next HSM. We want a big “blow-out” for the characters we know and love. Plus, a lot of the dances who have been with the series all along could pick up a few roles here and there to help the movie along—people we are used to and have seen before. I’m anxious to see some more of Mrs. Darfus and Troy’s parents and Gabriella’s mom. Sooooo, that should be enough. I don’t need a Lohan to “enhance’ the movie.

honestly - the outfit Vanessa has on is the “sweatery” kind of fabric and it clings and is never flattering in my opinion. Then you have that sweatery undershirt under the top and it gathers up around the stomach and hips

Just wanted to voice my opinion here. If hsm 3 was about prom night and the end of school life, I should think it would be more appropriate to gear this movie towards the 13 and above age group especially when it is to be made for the cinema and not the tv which is accessible to everyone. If the producers wanted the younger viewers to see this movie, they can perhaps edit another version just for them. It’s just a thought that is all.
In my country we have the censorship board who merrily snip away at 18 and above movies so much so that some of these movies actually lose the plot.
I do agree with Karen, that we would rather have the main characters especially Gabriella and Troy having more lines,scenes and songs without the minor characters undermining them. As she said it may be too late to have hsm3 rewritten.
I used to think Lindsay Lohan was so cute, bright and adorable and refreshing until I got wind of her shannigans and she did look the worse for wear before her rehab. I can’t say much for her sis,Ali with a big sis and mom like that. With all that make up she looks way too old for a 13 yr old, what was her mom thinking?! Let’s hope she is wiser and has learned from her sis’s blunders. I somehow feel that parents here are to blame for pushing their kids too hard all in the name of money and fame, missing out on their normal childhood.

I would imagine that seeings how long Zac and Vanessa have been together that they are close to a certain degree to each other’s family and Zac has been spotted at Vanessa’s quite a lot so like any other couple really .
She look’s really hapy in these photo’s and love the recent photo’s of Vanessa on the set of ‘Will’ she looks really happy and seems to be enoying herself.
I would think though that both she and Zac will be glad to see each other again and have some time together, I would think that both their smiles will get bigger when they do reunite.
I have to agree with a lot of people in that I don’t think they should bring in t many new people for HSM and should end it concentrating on the original 6 and mainly Troy and Gabriella as after all that’s what got people into the whole HSM craze and what kept up waiting for more in HSM2, the only thing with HSM2 was that it was to much with Sharpay and I would love to hav e seen how they got Gabby’s necklace back to her, we’ve known from the first one that Sharpay always wanted Troy for herself .
In the last one it should be just the original 6 and tie up loose ends I would love to see Ryan and Kelsie together, but just as long as it ends with the main focus on who and what got everybody into it then that’ll suit me and my daughter, but we both hope that Troy and Gabriella get more time this time.
Not long now until it all start’s filming and Zac only has one more week to do as well, as much as he’s probably loved being out of L.A. for a while I bet he’l be glad to get back and also to be close to Vanessa again, as the saying goes ‘absence make’s the heart grow fonder’, although I’m pretty sure they have kept in touch with their iphone’s as neither of them seem to have them to far from them but nothing make’s up for seeing your loved one in person and catching up.

zac only has one more week of filming to do in the isle of man as the theatre is booked until the 14th March, it’s been reported on many articles to do with the film.
Now weather that’s when the whole film finishes I don’t know as there was some talk of they had some shots to do in NYC but weather it was with the actors or just scenery shots is un clear.
So I’m guessing that Zac will head home for a bit to L.A. which would make sense before heading off to start rehearsing for HSM3.
And it’s been said that Vanessa’s film finishes at the end of March so who know’s if Zac’s film finishes before her’s which is quite possible that it will and Vanesa head’s home for a few day’s like she’s been doing that we will get some zanessa shot’s before they go off to do HSM3.
The main thing is they both managed to get out of L.A. for a while and just concentrate on doing their job’s without the hassle of constantly being followed by the press and they both semed to be having a good time doing their individual pojects,which is good as with any relactionship it’s good to go and do your own thing and know that you have a special someone waiting for you when you’ve finished.
They will be working together again soon so can’t wait to see the film or the clip’s that will no doubt come on the net just like HSM1 and 2 did great Zanessa moments.

I hadn’t really realized it until some of you mentioned it, but gabriella didn’t really have many lines in this movie, did she? It was mostly sharpay being crazy or troy arguing with everyone & playing basketball, lol. I agree that she does need more speaking time in this next movie, and I hope she gets it!

The first two HSM movies were rated G, as are pretty much all Disney Channel Original Movies. Stepping up HSM from G to PG is a good thing in my opinion. It’ll get more watchers, but it doesn’t eliminate all the younger fans.
As for Gabriella, I was extremely disappointed that her part was practically miniscule in the second movie. She’s such a huge part of the whole storyline of HSM, I can’t believe Disney would cut her out like that. For Sharpay of all people. I hope the writers don’t do that again. Vanessa deserves way more than that.

I said a couple months ago on the board how I thought it would be nice if Ryan got together with Kelsi. I think they have the music thing in common and wouldn’t it be cute to see the hats they both could come up with? I think they also looked good together in the few scenes they had in HSM2. It would be a good combination instead of sticking him with Martha just because he and Martha are not paired up with anyone else. Even though Kelsi and Jason are shown together in the dance scenes and at the end of each movie, there is nothing there that shows anything else. Even Shapay and Zeke are shown more as having a connection in both movies. Zac was asked who he thought should be paired up next and he said he thought it would be interesting to see Zeke and Shapay together. Well, my vote is for Ryan and Kelsi—that would be a more “grown-up” situation that goes on in high school all the time, two people (Jason and Kelsi) breaking up because one of them found they were drawn to someone else.
Love the photo’s of Vanessa from the thing she went to in Texas, she looks really relaxed and like she’s having a great time.

After I read the post about the new characters in hsm3 on the link someone posted a couple posts ago, I’m sad to see our main6 go! I mean, I think they’re introducing the new charcters so kids will be used to tem when they continue on with the movies. I think that it will still be sucessful since it does have the hsm name tagged onto it, but only for the younger kids. I think the older group who loves hsm not only loves the movie, maybe its just me, buti feel attached to these actors.
I feel confident in saying I don’t think that anyone could play a meaner Sharpay than Ashley, a better Ryan than Lucas. And though people could say that any pretty face could fill troy and gabriellas parts, I think they just bring something special, both together and individually. Oh man, I’m going to miss them!
When I see these actor who are auditioning for these roles (selena, ali, etc), what I see are young Disney channel kiddies. I don’t think I’ll be watching the ‘new’ hsm movies after this one because it will just be too weird, idn, I guess we’ll have to see. I loved the fact, and I think this is why it was so special, that pretty much everyone was an ‘unknown’ Even though Ashley is on suite life, Lucas was in halloween town, and the others had minor roles else where, when they came together in hsm, it seemed fresh and new, like we had never seen any of them before.
I’m not trying to ruffle feathers here but each time I hear people mention the “original six” I feel upset. Kelsi, Zeke, Jason, and Martha have been important support characters in the movie since HSM1. I do not want to see any of those 4 “slighted” by new characters either. Actually in the first HSM Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, and Ryan were the main characters as far as the music and dancing. Then in HSM2, Chad and Monique were added to the recording studio. Even Corbin talked about how he enjoyed HSM2 so much more because he got to go to the recording studio which he didn’t do in the first one. And I really do think Chris Warren is a hottie, he tall and got muscles! LOL

Yes, Malia. I was just about to post a comment about the ring when I saw your post. I first wanted to go back and view the pics of Vanessa to be sure I had not lost my eyesight completely. I was going to say that the ring looked like the same “old” ring she’s been wearing for nearly a year now! LOL
BTW, the last candid shot we saw of Vanessa—the ones where she is at the airport red to go back to Austin—she has her ring on. The pictures on JJ do not show a picture of her where you can see the ring but on Gossip Girls there is a picture where you can see it clearly and you can also see that it is her “precious”.

I think its important for them to know how we feel about the movie, but not only is there a small chance that they will change the scripts but they’ve already had auditions and such for the characters; they’re being told if they got the part on wednesday. I do not think that she is pregnant. The clothes that she is wearing does make her look like she has gained weight but I can say that my weight goes up and down all the time and some of the clothes that I wear makes me look bigger then what I am. I also saw on you tube that someone posted a video that she was pregnant but it was not Zac’s baby. I for one do not believe that she CHEATED ON ZAC!!!!! I wish that peop;e would not start rumors like that. These kids seem to love each other and if she is or is not pregnant it will come out when thsy are ready for it to, but both Zac and Vanessa both seen to know what they want and this is not in their plans. My guess is (and please note this is PURELY spectulation) that Vanessa’s schedule suddenly became very full so maybe she decided to put that aside for the time being. After all there’s no point in buying a house when you don’t have to if you’re not going to be there for months on end.

I am glad to see here out in Texas. I read that she does not look comfortable. I would look uncomfortable too. The weather here has been really cold. I don’t know how the weather is in LA but here in Texas it changes AT a drop of a hat. I hope that she gets some down time before she has to go film HSM3. I know that I am looking forward to seeing some zanessa pictures.

Karen, I agree also that ryan and kelsi should be together. Maybe, it could be that jason and kelsi decided, after their summer jobs, realized that they wanted to be just good friends. if you all remember at the beginning of hsm2 and after the song “what time is it”, they went to their lockers and ryan went up to kelsi and stood by her.
ryan and kelsi could be working on some of the songs or maybe something related to the prom, when they realize they are falling for each other.
jason and martha kind of like each other and jason tries to get up the nerve to as her to the prom.
when it all comes down, they still deal with their transition from their last days in high school, making the memories that they will charish, as they prepare for their future.

Anyway since mostly everyone is talking about HSM3 and the supposed new cast to be added on it.. i cant help but think of the
filming this april, I’m sure the guys are excited about being together again!
I simply cannot believe how Disney could introduce the new cast and concentrate on the originals at the same time.
In HSM Troy and Gabriella were in the focal point. It dealt with friendship and finding themselves. Taylor and Chad got minor roles, Taylor did not sing but Chad did in Stick To The Status Quo. And I think there was a balance between Sharpay/Ryan and Troyella scenes.
HSM2 was about love. Troyella fought for their feelings and ended up together. Sharpay got a major role as well because she needed to be the “separator”. But I also think it was too much! When I first watched the movie I realised that between You Are The Music In Me and I Don’t Dance there were no songs. In a musical! Gosh! I was so frustrated. All right, there were very cute Troyella moments but I think the 30-minutes long (!!!) “silence” was more about Sharpay. I do not understand why we needed those golf scenes to be soo long.Of course, there was a deleted scene (Humunuku…) that supposed to fulfill that silence but it was also a Sharpay moment!
So out of the 1 hour and 40 minutes we had approximately 40 minutes Troyella sightings including their common songs as well. The whole HSM2 was about Troy. I think Disney realised that teenagers love Zac Efron so they wrote a script that focused on him. Gabriella also had her moments (because she is a lead as well) but were deleted. (In the bloopers there is a scene when she is laughing hysterically in her room and a picture was also leaked when Taylor stands next to her in the same room. Taylor wears the “Talent show outfit” while Gabriella wears a pink top. If I am right that scene was supposed to be about Taylor and Gabriella’s heart-to-heart conversation about the show and her appearance. She should get her necklace back at the same time.)
In the Road To HSM2 there were also deleted Sharpay scenes! (She and Ryan spying Troyella and things like that.) That was really too much for me!
Kenny Ortega said that this movie will be about prom and separation. The students will organise a musical and sing about their feelings. He also said that new characters will be introduced. My only question is: how? Or how long will be this movie then? How can they focus on separation, the musical, the feelings of 10 but at least 6 people plus the newcomers?
Zac Efron said he would do the movie if the script was good. And he signed the contract but asked for more money. So there are two options for me: they movie will be good so he signed the contract but asked for more money beacuse he got a more major role (if that is possible). Or he signed the contract but asked for more money because he knew that this will not be a good movie at all so he needed some kind of compensation. (I do not think he asked for more money because he became more famous. He always says that he is very proud of Disney and will never forget that these movies helped him in his career. A lot. He seems to be a very loyal man who has a good head on his shoulders. But I cannot read his mind, sorry. If only I could…)
So I am not happy at all. And I also find it sad that Disney wants to go on with the story after HSM3. Of course, Disney never accepted that but why would they need new characters then? I have no other idea.

G’Morning!! Looks like it was a quiet night! Although lala was brainstorming big time!! And you made good sense in your post, lala. The only think I will disagree about is that I think HSM 2 was about being true to yourself; that no matter what comes your way, you never stop being who you are. I think Troy learned that well, once Gabriella, Chad, and others showed him what was happening.
I think prom would be a good focal point, if that’s true. There is a lot that goes on before prom, and it is high school drama in a nutshell. And there is lots of music involved. But because of the huge impact these movies have made on young kids, I would love the issues of making college decisions and graduation to be there too. And of course, the value of hard work, with Gabriella as valedictorian…..I imagine the battle will be who the prom queen will be!
We have to keep in mind that these movies are light and can’t be too heavy and emotional. But I know the final scene will be for all of us, as well as the cast!!
i’m still a romantic at heart. i really want the film to fast forward at the very end to show Troy/Gabriella getting married. i just think that would be cool.
It’s been a while since Vanessa’s been out and about. Wow, a lifetime by Hollywood standards. But that’s good for her. She incubates well. Can’t wait to see and hear more of her in her newer, more mature and confident self.

My thoughts on some of the previous posts… First off , Vanessa is not pregnant!!!!! If she is really as tiny as everyone says she is,then adding only a pound or two can really make a difference. She was going to pilates classes with Ashley and now she is busy filming. From what Bobby Bones said in his podcast, the guy who plays the DJ in the movie, there is a lot of sitting around and waiting to shoot scenes when filming. You already have makeup on and are dressed and ready to go if needed. It is not like you can go to a pilates class while waiting. Vanessa probably will drop any weight is has gained if any, when she returns home to recording her album , learning her lines for HSM3 and getting ready to leave for Utah. I would really hate to be her and have to worry every 5 mins. whether I gained or lost 5 lbs that month. We all do. It is natural. I’ll say it again, I think she looks fantastic. She looks healthy and happy. Not too thin and certainly not chubby or pregnant!! LEAVE THE GIRL ALONE ABOUT HER WEIGHT! This is how eating disorders get started!!
As far as HSM3 is concerned, I really believe it is too late in the game for anyone to change the script. Maybe the new characters will be introduced near the end to show how the show will continue on once the seniors graduate. I highly doubt they are going to pay Zac and Vanessa big bucks if they are not in the movie that much. I’m thinking they will have some scenes about Troy getting a scholarship to college and Gabriella is moving again and must decide to move with her family or go to Troy’s school. I’m sure their may be drama in the scenes leading up to the prom and who will be homecoming queen. Troy most certainly will be king. Just my thoughts on what may happen. I doubt the new characters will take up too much of the plot. All we can do is see. I do, however , agree with those that said Gabriella got cheated in HSM2. She was not really a main character like in HSM. It really was the Sharpay and Troy show. Hopefully, Gabriella will get more screen time this go around. She sure deserves it and I think the public wants to see more of her too. Just look at what a stir was caused when the rumor was going around that she might not be in it. All ..ell broke loose.
At any rate, we cannot change the script . I trust that Zac, and the others would not sign if the script wasn’t to their benefit. I’m really excited to see them all on the big screen and also anxious to see all the movies they have been in this year.

Sorry, I am a pervert…))) So, back to my original ideas, I think Disney makes a mistake right now with the newcomers. Or they will manage to concentrate on everything (prom, separation, musical, feelings, originals and the new cast) but then A) the movie will be at least 3 hours long (quite impossible), or B) the movie will not contain too emotional scenes and becomes a collection of quickie and slappy moments.

I guess we can all say we are speculating here!! The bottom line is, we just want to love it as much as we did HSM 1 & 2 !! I have heard in other cases, though, that sometimes scripts are changed during filming. And hey, if they don’t like the new characters scenes, they can always leave them on the editing floor .I think they’ll do what’s best. Like the hummu-hummu number. They didn’t think it worked, so they cut it out. We’ll just have to trust them.

No, Zac and Vanessa have not broken up. They both have been filming separate movies and they’ve been doing it on 2 separate continents. Zac’s on the Isle of Man in Europe and Vanessa is in Austin, Texas, which is in North America. They will shortly reunite and head off to Utah where they will be filming HSM3.
It amazes me when people worry they have broken up because “I have not seen them together for a long time” so you do follow them in some way BUT yet you don’t know that they are filming separate movies. The thing about their movies have been talked about a lot so why do you people miss THAT fact but not miss how you have not seen pictures of them together? OH, I KNOW!!! I don’t know if you guys watched the Barbara Walters special with Miley Cyrus, but the house that she bought in LA is huge and her family lives with her (well, she is only 15) but anyways, she has a whole wing of the house, which in her case was pretty much half of the house, to herself. It even had its own front door, which her mom kept locked, lol. It was like she had her own house. Maybe that’s what V will do? Idn, just a thought.
Natalie: Gabriella is wearing her T necklace during and after Everyday. It was a bit confusing first (who gave it her back?) but then the photo of Taylor and Gabriella in her room leaked so it seems to me that Taylor gave it her back according to the script but that scene was deleted. We are not sure.
I think it would have been better if Troy would have given it her after Everyday (before the kiss). Imagine this: he puts the necklace around her neck, then Gabriella says “Here to the future” then Troy: “No, here’s to right now”. Kiss and cut.
It makes sense to me but I think I am bit late with it. :)))

Gabriella had a big part in the first High School musical because it was a focus on overcoming the demands and expectations of peer pressure to “stick to the status quo” among the different groups.
HSM2 was about the pros and cons of Troy giving into the temptations of having his dreams handed to him on a silver platter, and what it takes to put himself back on track.
IMO, not having Gabriella in the movie as much was meant to symbolize Troy losing sight of what mattered to him, just like blowing off his friends for practice. The more we did not see her with him, the more we saw that he was forgetting who he really was. It was not until she was gone from his life completely that he woke up to see what was going on.
And I believe Sharpay represented all the challenges high School can throw at a couple, so the reason she was in the movie more, was to represent the distractions that led Troy astray.
Just listen to the words of “Bet on it” to see what I mean.
Example: when he asks if you have ever pushed away the ones you love to get what you want, (ie gabby and his friends).
I hope you get the gist of what I am trying to say, but as I also said, it is just my opinion.

Also, the song Bet on It has the lines about “with all I’ve lost, my heart is breaking…” It says it all about the determination of thae words of that song. That is why I loved it so much. At the end of it you could tell he was on a mission to “regain” everything he had lost and everyone should be on alert that he was going to succeed, like he says towards the end of the song “BET ON ME!”

About the house situation: I don’t think she is looking for a house for her family or for her to live in with her them. One interview recently—I thought it was the Seventeen interview but can’t find where it talks about it—it referred to her recently looking for “her first house”. I would say because of her busy schedule right now she had to put that search on hold. Maybe once she gets HSM3 behind her she will proceed with this venture. But maybe she was having some problems with it. I recently was reading about some of the Hollywood elite who were taking great loses on their homes because of the real estate slump, etc.
I also would think that poor Zac would have to be looking for something else pretty soon since as someone said on his thread “Everyone knows that apartment building by now.” He is going to have to have a little more “safety” if not privacy I think. He may resort to a condo or something since he probably will be traveling a lot. Or maybe he won’t think it needful since he will be on the road a lot promoting all these movies and probably working on more in the future.

Jake Thomas wants to be the next Zac Efron.
The Knoxville native, whose credits include a starring role in Steven Spielberg’s “A.I.” and Disney Channel’s “Cory in the House,” is vying for a lead role in “High School Musical 3.”
“Yesterday was a first for me,” he tells the Insider. “It was the first time I had to sing for an audition. It was an interesting challenge for me, but I think I was up for it.”
Thomas performed for casting agents looking to fill the lead role of “HSM3,” which will be the swan song for the current “HSM” cast, but not the end of the “HSM” franchise. More “HSM” movies are on the drawing boards, but the ones beyond this third one will be done without Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and the rest of the current stars.
In “HSM3,” the current cast is graduating high school. However, a new cast of characters will be introduced to carry on the song-and-dance routines for future movies.
“This is their last hurrah,” Thomas says.
Thomas is auditioning for the lead male role, a part that would, essentially, fill the void when Efron’s character is gone from movies beyond “HSM3.”
“The character I am auditioning for would take over Zac Efron’s (function). He would be the new star basketball player at the school,” he says.
Thomas fancies himself a singer but not much of a dancer.
He’s also not much of a fan of “HSM” or any other musical for that matter. “I’m not one who gives into hype,” he says with a laugh when asked if he was a fan of the previous “HSM” movies.
However, “I did watch ‘Sweeney Todd,’ and I liked it a lot,” he says.
Thomas’ own high-school days are over. He recently earned his high school diploma and is living in Los Angeles, complete with his own place to live.
His next project is the TV western movie “Aces N’ Eights,” airing later this month on the ION network (the channel formerly known as Pax). He co-stars in it with Ernest Borgnine.

The the other young actor who was auditioning for a role in HSM3 is a lot cuter, I think. And for my buck would be the better choice to take over for Zac Efron—but that is only my opinion, of course.
is it just me, or does anyone else think that it is weird that Jake Thomas, who said he isn’t a big fan of HSM, auditioned for HSM3!?
all of these articles are being published about HSM3 and i don’t know what to believe. they are all about the idea of a new cast coming in to take over for the original cast in the future HSM movies, which doesn’t make sense, because in the article Natalie posted above, it said that there is going to be no more High School Musical Movies, and that was from a site thats part of Disney. i don’t know what to think. all i know is that i don’t want anyone new and i want a lot of cute Troyella moments in the movie.

Its is really confusing. I wish they would just tell us what’s going on! lol. What I think is gonna happen is that they’re just gonna introduce the new characters and then give their movies a new name and just refer to them as being from hsm so that they can still get a lot of fans from it.
I too think its really stupid that that kid tried for hsm3, and of all parts the lead, and he didn’t even like hsm!! That’s just crazy. He even said he didn’t really dance!?! If they end up choosing this kid to be the new troy, it just shows that ALL disney is after is the money because he doesn’t even seem to be remotely interested in it!

Natalie, i totally agree with you. if they choose him, it will prove what disney really is after, and hopefully its not the money.
i don’t think anyone can replace the original cast. they have such amazing chemistry and it really shows on screen. hopefully disney realizes that, and understand that besides the stoylines and music and dancing, that the cast is one of the reasons HSM is soo big.
disney got extremely lucky with the HSM franchise, something like this doesn’t happen often.
Looking hot as usual, Vanessa Hudgens showed up at the Explicit Ills Premiere in Austin Texas, and noticeable missing was boy toy Zac Efron. The Explicit Ills stars Rosario Dawson and is an Indie Flick. This sounds like a really edgy movie, maybe that’s the direction that Vanessa should take her direction into if she really wants edgy movie roles instead of playing high school girls. We think Vanessa as the potential to become the next Hollywood bombshell.

This picture is not exactly fake. Anyone trying to push it off as being a picture of Zac and Vanessa are lying—that’s what is fake about the picture. However, the picture is a still from the movie Romeo and Juliet starring Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey. It was made in 1968 and got lots of praise because it stuck pretty much to William Shakespeare’s original masterpiece. Never before had anyone dared do to the movie in the old English and also have the leads posing naked.(There is a scene later where Hussey’s breast are shown also.) It was terribly daring at the time. I went to see it with my 9th grade English class and everyone was squirming in their seats, let me tell you. But Leonard Whiting became an overnight heartthob I can tell you. And Olivia Hussey was a real beauty.
I understand this is the version of Romeo and Juliet that Kenny Ortega suggested Zac and Vanessa watch to get them ready to play Troy and Gabriella for HSM1. I think it must have done just that. It is a wonderful movie, I suggest anyone who hasn’t seen it go out and rent it.

However, I must say what a stupid write up that is and why so many young people get all upset thinking Zac and Vanessa have broken up. First they make it sound like there is something wrong just by the fact Zac is not with her. They fail to mention she happens to be in the state of Texas because she is working and that is the only reason she is there seeing this movie. Of course they don’t mention that Zac is also away working they just make it sound like they are raising their eyebrow as to why they aren’t together. Either they are ignorant as to what these two are doing in their careers or they just want to start a rumor. Either way, these are the kinds of people who get to go out and photograph people like Vanessa and Zac and get to write in magazines and on blogs. THEN the mention about Vanessa’s “boy toy” like she is some old woman dating a younger man. For pity sakes, she’s only 19 and he’s 20, what’s this boy toy stuff. At any rate this website would not get my vote of confidence.

I’ve been in and out all day. I have been making Easter suckers for our church. I think I have done about 400 so far and I think I am calling it done now. I for one hope we don’t see any pictures of Zac and Vanessa if they manage to get some time together before HSM3.
After all the time they spent apart, they deserve to see each other away from the public eye.

I don’t think anybody really understood what you wrote, but what I got from it was that you said Vanessa looked like she was pregnant. And even in your last post you said “she most likely isn’t pregnant” which still points in the direction that you think there is a slight possibility, even a sliver, that Vanessa might be pregnant, and that just isn’t true. She has said in a recent interview, sorry I don’t remember which one, that she can’t really stand little kids for too long and that its not in the near future for her. That’s why I think everyone is responding to your post, because it just isn’t true.
And also, if you had read previous posts, MANY people, for some reason, have pointed out the fact that they think Vanessa looks pregnant, so its not like “just thought I’d point that out, since no one else seems to have” because others have too.
She could simply be wearing thick clothing, standing differently, actually gained weight, or what most likely happenned is that the paps took a pic of her from a weird angle. I mean, its not like she’s posing for them, showing them her best angle, saying hold on, let me get ready. I feel like I’m repeating myself because I already said this earlier!!!!! I just wish people would read earlier posts and/or THINK before they comment.

Malia, where did you get 2 years 7 months from? I know hsm1 came out on jan 20 2006 ( I rememeber cuz its my bday, lol) so jan 2008 is two years, to march so that adds 2 months. And they propbably started going out during hsm filming but that would have to be 5 months, so like july 2005 according to your estimate. Is that what you were thinking???

Its ok if you haven’t read all of the posts and I didn’t mean to make it sound like you HAD to have read all of them. But if you are such a Vanessa fan and supporter and you know that she doesn’t want to have kids right now, why would you say pregnant? Why not weight gain, the picture, clothing, or anything else that it could possibly be. Because the people that say she looks pregnant are usually the haters, but you say you’re not one so I’m just curious…? And not to get too much into this issue because it is purely opinion but I don’t think it would be ok for her to be pregnant at 19. She’s still young and has so much going for her, why would she want to stop now. And she’s a DISNEY star, hint the word disney. She’s already seen the impact that her pictures had on the public so why would she make that mistake again and create another scandal for herself? There’s a time and place for everything. And OBVIOUSLY none of us are her or know her personally so we OBVIOUSLY wouldn’t to be able to say anything is 100% but I just think logically and based off of what she has said and done in the past.
