Vanessa Hudgens sits down with Entertainment Tonight to talk about her new teenage romance, Will.
The 19-year-old High School Musical star plays Sa5m (the “five” is silent), a teenage misfit caught up in her high-school’s battle of the bands.
“My look is definitely more dark than in High School Musical,” says Vanessa. “I play kind of the ‘emo, kept away from everybody else in her own world’ kinda girl. She wears a lot of black. She always has longsleeves with thumbs in them.”
Added Vanessa about her costar Gaelen Connell, who plays Will, “We do have a kiss scene–a very funny, awkward kiss scene.”
And Vanessa is glad she didn’t go through the drama a normal kid would get during their teenage years: “Honestly, I never went to high school. I was home schooled all my high school years. Part of me wants to wish that I did go to high school. I’m living my high school experiences through the movies I do–all of them seem to take place in high school. But missing all the drama is not a problem with me.”

Gorgeous girl with an obvious mature outlook on life and her career. I’m excited to see her new film roles, but I’m really hoping they don’t neglect HSM3 and that it goes off with a bang. :D

That whole video was cute. Awkward kiss . . . and what Gaelen said about having to kiss Aly and Vanessa. Remember, he is only 16. Lisa Kudrow was funny, too. No one treats her as the “mom.”

Watching the video and seeing Vanessa on stage with guitar and smiling and laughing I was struck again by the image of a kid in a candy store. In my opinion she just seems to project amazement to do what she does. I hope she never loses that and becomes jaded.
As far as Gaelan goes this kid won me over instantly. When he was talking about working with Vanessa and Alyson MIchalaka and he says “I do kiss both of the them in the film. Unfortunately.” I can see him bringing both the awkwardness and dry sense of humor needed to do the character justice.

I thought this vid was soo cute and vanessa looks sooo pretty!! it looks like this movie is going to really help her career by showing people that she isn’t always the innocent gabriella type of character. Hopefully this movie will be a big hit for her and the rest of the cast. I too like Gealan he is just so awkward and it fits this movie soo well :) Can’t wait for the movie and for those wondering about hsm3 they have all signed on to be in the film so don’t worry the wildcats are back!!! lol :P
