Vanessa Hudgens sits down with Entertainment Tonight to talk about her new teenage romance, Will.
The 19-year-old High School Musical star plays Sa5m (the “five” is silent), a teenage misfit caught up in her high-school’s battle of the bands.
“My look is definitely more dark than in High School Musical,” says Vanessa. “I play kind of the ‘emo, kept away from everybody else in her own world’ kinda girl. She wears a lot of black. She always has longsleeves with thumbs in them.”
Added Vanessa about her costar Gaelen Connell, who plays Will, “We do have a kiss scene–a very funny, awkward kiss scene.”
And Vanessa is glad she didn’t go through the drama a normal kid would get during their teenage years: “Honestly, I never went to high school. I was home schooled all my high school years. Part of me wants to wish that I did go to high school. I’m living my high school experiences through the movies I do–all of them seem to take place in high school. But missing all the drama is not a problem with me.”

chickie…..She didn’t purposely “employ that trashy behavior” to get famous. You obviously don’t know anything about the situation and how it happened. Now, I can think of a slew of starlets, who DO employ trashy behavior to be famous….can you say Brittney, Lindsey, and every other girl who hangs her boobs and booty out just to be photograghed?? Now THAT’s my definittion of trashy behavior. Not having a photo stolen and leaked. What else has Vanessa done that’s trashy?? Let’s see…..she dresses age appropriately (unlike girls like Rihanna), she dates ONE guy, she is close to her family, and is working pretty hard to get her career started. Geez….how trashy.

They are not calling her Emo she is playing Emo girl.
Okay for those that don’t know an “Emo” or in this case an “Emo girl” is the types you usually see at the mall in black and looking and acting depressed for mostly no good reason. The Urban dictionary has this, “Although some girls just dress in the emo style, most emo girls are sad; cry and write poetry a lot, and tend to cut their wrists. They usually hide this by wearing armbands or lots of happy colored bracelets.”
#71 You need to re-read what I saidwhich is people were saying the way she was dressed DIDN”T look emo enough. That she didn’t fit the STYLE of dress or at least she didn’t the way they percieved it.
Also you might want to re-watch the video she didn’t call HERSELF emo she was talking about the character she’s playing in the movie.

Great role model. #31……are you serious??? Remember this, the only people that really survive in Hollywood are the ones with true talent and I think she may be in for a surprise when all the High School movies are done.

yes we are serious she is GREAT ROLE MODEL. People who survive are one who learn from mistakes they made and don’t give a **** what people like you have to say. As for talent she has it more than many in Hollywood and if you don’t see it — what can I tell you???
#69 Please Lord let this be the last time I find myself compelled to write these words: The picture was in my opinion many things: impuslive, misguided, ill-concieved, and potentially dangerous and a mistake. But it was meant to be a initmiate, private gesture between Vanessa and someone else. Someone who chose to violate the trust she put in him when she gave it to him.
There was no known pattern of “trashy behavior” before this came to light and there is has been none after. Will you people PLEASE let it go?
I do agree with one thing you said however its the people with true talent who survive in Hollywood. And it may just be the people who constantly disparage who are surprised.
I see that some little kiddies are still having a difficult time separating Vanessa from the character she plays. I would tell them to read the script, but I fear they don’t have the ability to read. They just know how to post. In gibberish.
