OlderRachel Bilson Launches Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans
Rachel Bilson is desinging a junior sportswear line called Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans, reports WWD.
“This is something that I have been interested in doing for such a long time,” Rachel said. “I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity for it to be done right. Fans of The O.C. really like DKNY Jeans, and I know they make great stuff, so I thought it could be good.”
The fashion line is mostly black and white pieces, a little yellow here and there.
“I have a yellow scarf that I love and I was really inspired by it,” Rachel said. “I was so happy they were able to get that same yellow into the clothes.”
Bilson, 26, knew she didn’t want her own name on the label, which is why she chose Edie (after her grandmother) and Rose (a close family friend, which also happens to be the name of Hayden Christensen’s grandmother).
“I want people to see these clothes for what they are, not just another line designed by another celebrity,” she said. “I want the line to be taken seriously.”
Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans will soon be sold for $19.50 and $49.50 per piece at department stores including Macy’s, Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom.
“I am just amazed at how the team at DKNY Jeans were able to listen to my ideas and come out with exactly what I was talking about. They literally brought my ideas to life,” Rachel added. “I also want to show people that you don’t have to pay a million dollars for clothes that look good. For me, I love vintage clothes and I shop vintage all the time. It’s fun to play and put things together. You don’t have to spend a lot to get a great look.”
Last August, Fall Out Boy frontman Pete Wentz also created a junior sportswear line called Clandestine Industries for DKNY Jeans.

And please, if she is such a private person as all RB fans suggest, why would you name your clothing line after somebody who is obviously gonna connect the name to HC’s grandmother. Sigh, I was waiting for someone to do the Natalie Portman comparison. These days lots of celebrities are starting their own fashion line. It’s not completely unheard of. I’ve seen some of Rachel Bilson’s pieces and they look cute so far. Natalie’s shoes are a little more expensive for the average person and are probably catering to a different shopper.

Read the reason she got this job, DKNY hired her after all the ‘controversial’ posts about her bangs and about Hayden, and she is exploiting that relationship with the name of the line “Eddie Rose” as well.

I liked Rachel when I use to watch the OC, I wouldn’t exactly call myself a fan I just thought of her as another pretty girl on TV. But when I read all the horrible posts it makes me like her more because I don’t think she is half as bad as some people make her out to be. I almost want to stick up for the poor girl, does she really deserve so much hatred and negativity. It really doesn’t sit well with me that so many Hayden fans don’t think she is good enough for him, and bag her out so badly. I think Hayden is the best judge of who he likes to spend time with and right now he obviously likes spending time with Rachel.

I am a Rachel fan, in its first season i watched the oc because i really liked the show, but in season 2,3 and 4 the only reason i watched the show was because of her, the only reason i watched the last kiss was, again, because of her. So i guess you can call me a Rachel fan.
I, like all her fans, really think she’s a good girl, she’s polite to her fans, she’s down to earth among many other things.
So it really bugged me when i saw the things SOME of Haydens were saying about her.
I guess i don’t think it’s acceptable to say someone don’t deserve another person because of their height, or because they’re not inteligent enough, or because they’re not famous enough.It’s so prejudicial if you think about it.
In response to this they would evoke the “freedom of speech”, yeah sure, but if you really not gonna use it for worthwhile cause/reason, why use it anyway???
And also i think you don’t become a fan of someone because of their personal lies, but because of their professional lives. Because if it was the other way around, i’m sure Woody Allen would zero fans, i mean he married his adopted daughter, so all i’m saying is no matter how you like who’s the guy’s dating or not, it doesn’t give you the right to say mean things about the person, even hating the person.
But if you do want to bash a person, because you think you’re free to speech whatever you want, all you can do is accept when someone bash the actor you’re a fan of, because what goes around comes around, right?
