Well, it certainly is not Umbrella, but I think it is a catchy pop song. The lyrics, while not too deep, are still clever enough and certainly can be ascribed to something many people can relate to.
All in all, I like it.
I don’t get why everyone is making a big deal about Rihanna. She is a pop singer, and this is a pop song. It is not meant to be deep and thought-provoking. Pop music is meant to be FUN! Rihanna is hot right now and her music is something you can put on to forget about the real world. Not all music has to have an orchestral score rivaling Mozart’s or be self-written.
