OlderBrad Pitt Teams Up with Bill Clinton
Brad Pitt is seen outside his home running errands in New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday.
Today (Sunday), Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to appear with Brad, who is leading an effort aimed at building affordable, energy efficient homes in the Lower 9th Ward. Pitt’s Make it Right project will be the site for Clinton and CGIU (The Clinton Global Initiative University) participants.
CGIU is “geared to get college students to address global issues through workshops and meetings on things like climate change, human rights, global health and poverty alleviation. Seven-hundred students from across the globe, university presidents, celebrities and local leaders are all part of various panel discussions and speeches at the school.”

2005 VF interview was done end of Feb or early March.
Since Angie was advocating for refugee children then and was in Washinton D.C to meet political hevyweight, she had been very busy before the reshoot for Mr & Mrs Smith.
I believe she was not in the relationship with Brad yet and reluctant to be in new relationship at that time because of Mad.
2004 and early 2005 they were not in the relationship yet.
She could occationally see someone else then.
Brad probably has done any effort to pursuade her after his seperation from his X.
Angie was living in England , in Africa in January , in France and Dabos in late Februrary.
Brad sure called her to the end of the earth and tried to convince her.
In March they had time to discuss more about their future after her interview to VF.
I’m sure they were NOT in blind love.

This is the magnificent country house where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt hope to bring up their growing family.
The £10million seaside property is in a billionaires’ paradise close to the French Riviera.
Neighbours on the same stretch of Provence coast include David and Victoria Beckham and Elton John.
Like most celebrity homes in the region, it has state-of-the-art facilities and access to helicopter pads - but this really is the creme de la creme. The ivy-clad house was put together stone by stone in 850 years by a community of monks.
“Angelina loves the fact that every single stone was put in place by monks all those centuries ago,” said a local estate agent.
“The house is the ultimate status symbol. Angelina and Brad are hugely excited.”
Angelina fell in love with the six-bedroom property last year but withdrew an offer after Brad was denied permission to build a motorbike track in the gardens.
But now their request for the circuit in the five acres that come with the house has been accepted - and the deal is back on.
Angelina, 32, wants to be in France for the birth of the child she is expecting - said to be a daughter - to honour her mother’s memory.
The eccentric movie star hopes to be close to the spirit of Marcheline Bertrand, who lost a seven-year battle with ovarian cancer last year aged 56.
Marcheline was born in Chicago, but her father’s French roots go back to some of the first settlers in Canada.
A friend of the Hollywood star said: “Angelina has a feeling that being in France means Marcheline will be close to her spiritually when she has the baby. She believes her mother’s spirit will be in the baby.”

The source told the Sunday Mirror that negotiations are back on - with a deal likely “any day now”.
He said only a client list of “superrich customers”, mostly celebrities, could view the property. Although the main body of the house is the original building, attachments have been added over the years.
It has vaulted stone ceilings while a 17th Century stone staircase spirals to the top floor. Even the pool was built with 18th Century stone.
The local village of around 1,500 people is on a hill surrounded by vine fields, olive groves and green valleys. Beach resorts like St Tropez and Cannes are an easy drive away. There is a major airport at Marseille with plenty of helipads for Angelina and Brad, 44, to land.
Two years ago the couple rented a flat in Paris for six months, and are looking forward to living at least part of the year in France. The couple are talking about marrying and have looked around churches in New Orleans - where they already own a house and Brad is building 150 homes for people who lost their houses in Hurricane Katrina.
The Pitt-Jolie clan currently live on a Texas ranch while Brad films his latest film Tree Of Life.

It’s just like when Angelina wrote that article about remaining in Iraq for humanitarian purposes; they started saying that she’s backing a Republican agenda when in fact, Angelina’s been talking about preventing an environment within a war-torn country that would result in its children being recruited into terrorist organizations for a while now. Bill Gate did not have a college degree but end up as one of the richest man on Earth. Not that college degree is not important but sometime with a lot of hard work , wit, talent and luck , one can also end up successfully.

A marriage broke down from within as they all do and a divorce happened, a divorce that was truthfully without rancor. A divorce remade by tabloids and fanatic fans into something it was not and is not, full of rancor.

Her home on Blue Jay Way in the HHills was rented to Borat and Isla Fisher so she could not move back into it after the split. The BJWay home was the home she had owned for many years preBrad and had lived there with Tate D, she insisted that she and Brad live there after they hooked up and after they married until they bought the big huge BH home they later sold and split the proceeds because Brad’s realtor found the buyer. Jen refused to live in the home where Brad and Angie happily live in Los Feliz/HHills, the homes Brad has owned beginning in 1996, allegedly because he had lived there with GP for a while. Brad extensively renovated the home he and Angie live in during 2006 to accomodate his growing family with children.
Jen rented a Malibu beach home for $30,000/month summer of 2005 until just a few months ago. She moved back into her BJayWay home until the $15 million home she purchased in BHills last year a few feet from the CoxArquettes was ready after extensive renovations by her.
Brad purchased his Mailbu home in late March/early April 2005 using the same trust he and Angie used to buy their NOLA home last year.

Extensive Remediation of the soil and other site preparations are underway for homes to be built. Soil was maximally contaminated by flood water and must meet standards. Same obstacles were found by Global Green in their NOLA rebuilding efforts, their decontamination/remediation work took time, building now underway. Groundbreaking for first homes to be built still on schedule for this month (March).

NEW ORLEANS, March 16 /PRNewswire/ — Former President Bill Clinton today joined Brad Pitt and 600 students from around the world to formally break ground on Pitt’s Make it Right project, which will construct 150 sustainable and affordable homes in the Lower 9th Ward.
Students participating in the project have gathered this weekend in New Orleans for the inaugural meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative University. Held at Tulane University, this meeting convened students, university administrators, and activists together to take action towards solving some of the world’s most pressing issues.
“It is only fitting that we culminate a weekend focused on youth service by turning words in action,” President Clinton said. “I’m pleased that Make It Right would invite us to be here today, to give us all the opportunity to restore the historic Lower 9th Ward and help residents rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.”
Along with President Clinton, Pitt and residents from the Lower 9th Ward, the students cleaned and prepared more than 10 blocks of the neighborhood that will welcome the first returning residents to the area.
Pitt announced the launch of Make It Right at the 2007 CGI Annual Meeting. He and Steven Bing each committed $5 million to the project, for a total of $10 million in matching funds, and challenged others to join them in rebuilding New Orleans.
“We are so appreciative of the support we have received from the Lower 9th Ward Community, the Clinton Global Initiative, and university students from around the country at our groundbreaking today,” said Brad Pitt. “I especially want to thank former President Bush and President Clinton for their early support of Make It Right. We are excited about today, but need to remember that our project is one small part of addressing a much larger need. Thousands of people still need help in order to return home.”
Tom Darden, Executive Director of Make It Right, also thanked the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund for its contributions. “The Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund has played a vital role in New Orleans’ recovery, and Make It Right is honored to be the beneficiary of over a $1 million donation. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see if and when the Jolie-Pitt family of 6 or 8 or 16–or however many they are nowadays–packs up the shipping container, books a large and plush private jet and ships all their cribs, tricycles and motor bikes to France.
In Your Mama’s meaningless and un-asked for opinion, the Jolie-Pitts need this trés expensive and dee-luxe house like they need another half dozen children. The couple already own and maintain at great expense Pitt’s long time compound in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles as well as a striking and glassy contemporary estate on the bluffs in the northern reaches of Malee-boo. A bit farther up the Calee-fornia coast, just north of Santa Barbara, the couple also own an ocean side camp ground like compound, and let’s not forget that big house in the New Orleans French Quarter where the Jolie-Pitt publicists said they were gonna live and raise all them kids like regular people.
However, if they are going to spend the big bucks to decamp to French farmhouse for the family, they could certainly do worse than this enviable piece of Provençal pulchritude.

So today is the Ground Breaking Day. This is wonderful. I am so proud of being Brad’s fan. He is beautiful inside and out.

Bill Clinton meets Brad Pitt in storm-hit area

Former President Bill Clinton met with actor Brad Pitt and hundreds of volunteers in the Lower 9th Ward on Sunday at the site where a foundation headed by Pitt plans to begin building affordable homes for Hurricane Katrina victims.
“We hope to see a huge change here in the next six months,” Pitt told a group of residents as he posed with them for pictures Sunday and signed autographs.
Pitt and Clinton walked a street as hundreds of volunteers on either side, wielding shovels and rakes, prepared the land for homes. For hours, they cleared overgrown grass and weeds that were covering street drains and sidewalks.
The Lower 9th Ward was one of the hardest-hit neighborhoods in New Orleans when Katrina struck on Aug. 29, 2005, causing the city’s levee system to fail with devastating flooding.
“We’re working to get the grounds ready so construction can begin,” said Anne Bouthilette, a 20-year-old sophomore history major at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.
Many media representatives were refused direct interviews with Clinton, who has been making public appearances around the country as Hillary Clinton seeks the Democratic presidential nomination.
A brass band played in the background as Clinton and Pitt shook hands and chatted with volunteers.
Bouthilette said this was her first visit to New Orleans, and she was enjoying the opportunity to help with the city’s recovery.
“There’s a pressing need for people to come down here and do work,” she said. “There are still so many things that need to be done. Everybody can do something.”
Bouthilette was one of about 600 college students in New Orleans for the Clinton Global Initiative University, a three-day program that began Friday and was designed to challenge college students and universities to tackle global problems with practical, innovative solutions.
The event wrapped Sunday with the volunteer effort in the Lower 9th Ward, at the site where Pitt and his Make It Right Foundation are building homes using environmentally friendly materials such as cisterns and solar panels for residents who lost their homes in the storm.
Before his stop in the 9th Ward, Clinton participated in a forum with student journalists to discuss issues important to America’s college students. Students from the University of Southern California, Howard University and Tulane University were among those who to participated.
The event was taped and segments are scheduled to air on March 26 on mtvU, MTV’s college network which broadcasts to more than 750 college campuses nationwide.

President Clinton and 600 college/university students from all over the world partake in this great milestone with Brad for the benefit of NOLA.. NOLA is only a 1.5 hour flight or less from his film location so he can check on their home and his MIR project with ease.
Brad has his whole family on location with him in Texas while he films his new movie with the TMalick and Sean Penn. The family is living on a ranch and loving the experience. The people in Texas are also protecting their privacy. As Brad said, if my family is happy, I am happy.
Brad gets to love seeing his love Angie swell ever larger daily with his 5th child in 3 years. Brad is the man.

Have you tried talking to Jared at all? You’re constantly encouraging people to boycott this or that or you’re writing directly to people who slam Angie or Brad, but you’re not willing to go directly to Jared? Why not? I can almost guarantee that he doesn’t read all the posts on this site. I’m not thrilled with all the thread subjects either, but I respect the fact that it’s Jare’d site and his call. Why are you assuming I have never written Jared? I have written Jared several times. A few of those times, it has most definitely been to communicate my distaste with a particular thread.
However, I don’t need to be having REGULAR long azz convos in e-mail w/ Jared about why I think a thread is stupid, hateful or exploitative. When that starts happening, it’s time to go.
I’ve written him a couple of times before when a particularly wack thread had surprised all hell out of me - and seemed so unlike him — and I did it regarding that Shiloh ’stalker’ ad for In Touch he put up, which probably contributed to moving more issues for Bauer publisihing. I thought that particularly egregious.
But bottomline, when it becomes a habit…that. is. when. I’m. GONE.
It’s pretty simple math.

My thoughts on the Make it Right project :–
There is good that come out of these. 1st — People who were displaced will have a home. 2nd — there will be jobs created during construction.
Finally, once this neighborhood is put back together, this can be a POTENTIAL tourist stop for tourists, visiting the area planned with the world’s renowned architects. We all know tourists like to visit UNESCO world heritage sites. The same reasoning can apply here. Travel company can set up WALKING tours. Where can you find a place with all those houses, planned by world renowned architectects ALL IN ONE LOCATION ? And to see how eco-green features are applied, to learn about the history of pre and post Katrina. It could be very educational too.
With tourist bus bringing people to the neighborhood, there will be shops springing up to cater to the tourist, gift shops, restaurants, ice cream store, coffee shop, hotels, etc. Gift shops can sell post Katrina postcards, different houses blueprints, tote bags, MIR T shirts. Heck, they can even bottle those dirt or muds from the site and sell them. It’s all good for the local ECONOMY.
Tourism is big business !!!
Brad’s ideas are BRILLIANT !!! This is the man who has the foresights, the connection, the drive , and the heart. He has all my respect.
We should be greatful that Brad is shepherding this project with his precious TIME.
