OlderLauren Conrad is Flying on a Jet Plane
Lauren Conrad leaves her mini-mansion without both of her roommates and catches a departing flight out of LAX airport in Los Angeles on Saturday.
The 22-year-old Hills star had her first runway show for the Lauren Conrad Collection Fall 2008 collection on Tuesday. She answered a few questions for The Daily News after the show:
And Brody [Jenner], your romantic interest from last season, was in the front row. Does that mean you’re still together? Honestly, I didn’t even… [mysterious pause]. I’m going to see them all at the after-party. I’ve been backstage the entire time. I didn’t get to see my show or anything.
You see so many celebrity designers these days. Who do you admire and how do you stand out? I really like Gwen Stefani’s line. I think she has a hand in it a little more than others. In this industry right now, a lot of people are taking their 15 minutes and slapping their names on items, and it’s giving a bad rap to people who actually want to design or sing or do things they’ve always wanted to do. I’ve studied a little over two years, and I’ve worked in the industry since I was 16, and I really do design every piece and go to every meeting.

jesse, the sad thing is that you are getting so worked up over this girl and you don’t even know her. Why so angry? She has said all along that she is designing simple comfortable dresses for her own style. Geez! And her dresses are under $200, not $2-300, and her line is selling out. Obviously there are people out there who like her stuff. I wish her much success!

to #16 - She’s not a hypocrite at all. She is going to school for fashion design and has wanted to be a designer since she started on TV. This is not just side hobby, it’s her career of choice.
And she is not fat, she’s normal and healthy.
the braid looks so lame. she is trying really hard lately & looks like a hippy a la nicole richie. i used to really like lauren but now i think she is a total nicole richie wannabe. the scarves, the bag & i will give her that the braid is original but it is just part of that hippie thing which isn’t style. the boots are so kate moss from years ago & kate can pull them off because she is kate with her low key effortless everyday style. also, lauren & brody had a total fake relationship. he had his girlfriend since halloween & the show pretends lauren only learned of it when she was in france. she claims brody is one of her bf’s so & they hang in the same circle so she would now he had a girlfriend.

i absoultely love lauren but i have to agree….i dont love the braid….i love laurens fashion line and i think it is totally worth the price…its not THAT expensive….and she was totally referrring to heidi when she said it gives a bad rap to people who actually want to design OR SING…that was directed towards heidi…YAY!! i hate heidi

Lauren is so lovely and I really like her clothing line. She is doing her thing an doing it well. I plan on buying some of her clothes. Will never buy from Heidi’s line.

She looks cute here. I like that she isn’t locked into one style. This is very different from the outfit she had on the other day. She’s too young to try and wear the same thing all the time.
Lauren is not a hypocrite her point is she didn’t just wake up one day and decide hey I want to be a designer because I’m having a little fame. Lauren was into to fashion since she was younger she did go to fashion school it was heidi who dropped out of fashion school because she said it wasn’t her thing heidi said that was laurens interest not hers now all of a sudden she wants to be a fashion designer that’s what lauren is saying. Lauren just needs a few more years of design school to perfect her craft but I do believe the interest in fashion is real.
What is really sad that she is still pretending with this so called”reality show”… fake friendships, fake jobs,…fake boyfriends,everyone in LA knows that Brody has a girfriend for a long time…no wonder she can’t give a straight answer. She claims that she went to design school…in reality almost never attends classes and she is not in Fashion design she is taking Product development…so much for her designing skills. Please Lauren don’t compare yourself to Gwen S., that girl is all about talent and hard work…you on the other hand a clubbing party girl who is only after the publicity.
