Mariah Carey’s “Saturday Night Live” Performances
Mariah Carey performed a two-song set during last night’s Saturday Night Live. The 38-year-old dvia performed the first single, “Touch My Body”, off her latest album E=MC² (meaning: “Emancipation equals Mariah Carey to the second power”).
Mariah also sang out a new song called “Migrate”. Watch her two performances below!
BTW, her back-up dancers need to jazz up their outfits a bit! Snore.

i just want to say somethin’ to all of the “haters”
if you ******* hate MC so much than why the hell would you waste your time lookin’ up these videos, waste 10 minutes of your life watching them, and than waste even more time writting **** about it, honestly grow the hell up! I still don’t understand why anyone has the idiocy to think this woman has anything to prove to them. She has broken all the female records and is on the verge of breaking The Beatles..yes let me say that one more time… THE BEATLES record for #1 hits. Not to mention her record sales are astronomical or the fact that she has written and/or co-written all but less than a handful of her #1’s Who else in the business can claim that? So what if she lipsyncs for some performances…Do you think Celine Dion really sings live 100 % of the time in vegas? Or that any “singers” sing live every song these days? Quit fooling yourselves, its called vocal preservation. Singing live every song for every concert and belting on every note is too taxing on ANY voice let alone someone who has been in the business 18 years and none of those singers are doing 1/3 of the vocals Mariah is and/or was capable of period. Mariah and Janet arent even in the same ballpark vocally or musicality wise so i don’t know where you even get the idea you can compare them. Oh and just to let you know she is all Live here, just a background track playing for backing. This is the last time I’m going to defend her because it has reached a level of redundancy that is pointless when you are defending to people who have no basis to their claims or facts.

I used to like her so much in the 90’s- One of her biggest fans before she became really popular and wanted her to be super famous too. I find it depressing that I can’t stand her now. She is going down - sad:(
She may be marketing herself with the times, but these little rap singers are too common and its getting boring! Mariah does these type of songs because she has a damaged voice. Can’t you hear it? DUH! Even though I am a music teacher and I saw this coming years ago, it should be obvious to everyone now that she has suffered vocal damage. Constant use and abuse of her vocal cords with the belting, and high pitched wailing, the “false” notes that she was once famous for; etc have taken its toll on her voice. Watch how she sings now… she pulls the mic away at high pitched points in the song… she has a strained look on her face… the raspy quality of her voice… she either already has vocal nodules, or has previously been treated for them. She may even have strained vocal chords. She should be on complete voice rest between performances the way Celine Dion does. If you are making your living off of your instrument, you should take better care of it.
I just saw the re-broadcast of Mariah’s SNL sync-NOW-lip! I’m quite upset about the prevalent ‘tardituded comments that came immediately after the original broadcast. There are typically DOZENS of mixes and re-editings in a recording diva’s library. Just because different music was heard on your tv from what you have on your ipod DOESN’T SAY THAT IT WAS LIVE! If people were SO fooled by her ‘performance’, it shows many of them weren’t watching closely. No microphone cords came from the background ’singer’ mikes. The drummer’s sticks didn’t match beats. There were no camera angles on the keyboards, etc. (like USUAL live tv). AND Carey’s mike drifted away from her face, when no volume decreased on her ‘voice’. THIS WAS NOT LIVE MUSIC FOLKS!
..On the flip side of that, she filled in on short notice with little rehearsal.

If ANYONE cares to verify the fact that ALL of BOTH songs were simply
sync-ed, I’d be curious to know what her manager AND SNL say about it.

R you kidding me. This is suppose to be real music? O yeah real memorable I guess for you kids. Yall need to listen to real artists like Aretha Chaka Lauren Hill Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston.
