Brad and Angelina’s Tiara Sandwich

Brad Pitt and expectant mommy Angelina Jolie are all smiles while posing with tiara-wearing resident Dee Carla Rogers, 9, in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday.

Brad, 44, has been busy working with his “Make It Right 9″ Foundation and Bill Clinton’s global initiative to aid Huricane Katrina victims.

Earlier in the day, Angie, 32, took the kids to the corner store for snacks.

No - its all good - I snuck over when I came back from feeding the growing boy :D somebody had just hijacked vicki’s name so I didn’t stick around long. Just really wanted to find out from lookwhaticando what a sigy was, I am too new at some of this internet slang. Anyway it is calmer here. I know some of the cr*p gets so outrageous that you just can’t help but to comment.

vickifromtexas @ 03/19/2008 at 9:07 pm

groundcontrol, hi how are you? i hope you are having a great day. = )
i think it was really important that my dad and his brother heal before it was too late. thank you for your support.

got to get ready for work :(

Hope you all have a great night :D

justjazz, just read of your loss. Though it happened a while ago, I do want to say how sorry I am to learn about what had happened.

About hate. Sadly, I think many of these LOSIES who post those dreadful things, wishing for someone they don’t know to die, hoping for Shiloh to be autistic or something dysfunctional, do experience hate. Do know what hate is. BUT it’s themselves that they hate. How can you survive this level of self loathing, day in day out if you direct it against yourself? You can’t. You’d not only just cut yourself a little, You’d kill yourself.

So as a survival tactic, I believe these self haters have to direct it against someone else. A celebrity perhaps (well its better than stalking your neighbour). The Jolie Pitts are just a screen, a blank page, on which they can project and write about their own hate.

Someone wrote about going to female first and reading some histories of some of the Jolie Pitt’s haters and how they many many of them seem to have a history of abuse, depression and other major dysfunctions. I been to ff and read some of those confessions myself. What makes me so sad is the total negativity of these people. Their own lives have been in a mess. They had been abused, neglected and depressed and at times have been addicts.

But instead of being inspired by Angelina, who has walked through that path of abuse, neglect and depression and emerged from it healthier and stronger, they keep wanting to take her down, keep wishing she would go down. Probably because it validates why they DON’T WANT TO recover themselves and I do say - DON’T WANT as opposed to CANT recover. And of course, as long as they keep hoping and wishing for someone who has made the journey out of the darkness to return to the darkness, they themselves will continue to be living in that darkness. Their wishes don’t affect the Jolie Pitts. Their wishes merely hurt themselves.

guess i’ll go on both threads…
I stayed on the other one b/c it’s not really negative / just not the complete truth…
but there’s no one cool there; so i’m here :)

hi alia. = )

I always like your posts inc photos alia.

alia @ 03/19/2008 at 10:17 pm

Hey alia, just posted on the other thread for you - don’t worry about the pictures - post them if you want to. The “blog police” always seem to find something to b*tch about. It’s a free country - let them complain.
If they don’t like a post - skip it, how difficult is that

Have you guys ever noticed that when somebody is being critical of something they never post under their name ? There are just a few regulars that do-the rest I am thinking are trolls. All of a sudden there is this “blog police” mentality. don’t do this, don’t post that - who cares

I would like to be this girl. She is a lucky girl.

I agree - can you imagine the week she has had at school? I bet she was telling everybody at school Monday morning who she had her picture taken with. :D

Over twenty years ago, when a little known governor in Arkansas, Bill Clinton, and his wife, heard about a Bangladeshi economics professor turned banker-to-the-poor, they wanted to know more. How did these small loans to help build local businesses work? Why were they loaning mostly to women? And could it work in parts of the impoverished South?

And wasn’t it amazing that a governor from Arkansas and his wife could actually imagine that someone from one of the poorest countries halfway around the world might actually have an answer that would work in the United States? The fact is that where “Creative Capitalism” or Social Business, as Clinton’s friend, Muhammad Yunus, the Bangladeshi professor he nominated for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, calls it, is also needed here in the United States.

Flash forward to today and people like Bill Gates are talking about “Creative Capitalism,” the good that companies can do by helping create sustainable businesses which do good for communities around the world. Brad Pitt, who has dedicated himself to helping the people of New Orleans devastated by Katrina, and many others want to meet with Nobel Peace prize winner, Muhammad Yunus. CEOs of corporations are slowly but surely “getting it” and invite him into their board rooms. Governments, finance ministers, billionaires, women’s groups, the list goes on — are all becoming part of this snowball effect. They are interested in creating sustainable “hybrids,” giving based on a business model, which has as its aim not making money off of the poor, but building the kinds of businesses which can provide goods and services for the poor, including health care, communications, etc. while using a “creative capitalist” structure.

A haunting Western from director Andrew Dominik ( Chopper), a richly textured, slow-moving, always engrossing movie that combines painstaking grittiness with a dreamlike beauty, embracing the mythical and the mundane.

Brad Pitt has the marquee name and he does a fine job playing the charismatic title character, but the film belongs to Casey Affleck, as Robert Ford, the “coward” who since boyhood has cultivated a form of hero-worship for the outlaw Jesse James.

He manages to find a way to join the James Gang and ride alongside his hero, but proximity does not bring intimacy, single-minded adoration turns to bitter resentment, and there’s an inevitability about the way their association comes to an end. Intriguingly, it also looks as if James is a knowing participant in this dance of death.

Affleck’s portrait of obsession is finely tuned, subtle, matter-of-fact and enigmatic: he was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor, but he would have been a worthy candidate for best actor.

His performance fits well in a film that’s an immersion experience, a clever and compelling re-engagement with myth and history.
