Vince Vaughn Fires Manager, Agency

Vince Vaughn has kicked his United Talent Agency and his manager Eric Gold to the curb, reports Deadline Hollywood.

Vince, 37, has been with UTA since 1993 and Gold since 2005. He’s still rep’d by his attorney Debbie Klein.

Mr. Vaughn currently pulls in $20 million per pic but his latest film, Fred Claus, flopped at the box office.

His next film, Four Christmases, costars Reese Witherspoon and opens Nov. 26.

UPDATE: Vince has signed with CAA’s Richard Lovett.

Why would he not? He had quite a string of box office hits until his last two movies. Guess people forget really easily.

Four Christmases will be a hit too. Vince + Reese = box office gold.

I hope the implication isn’t that he fired thembecause of Fred Claus. After all, that Wild West Comedy Show film, which was produced by Vince, flopped too.

Given the horror stories of how arrogant Vince is, I’d be willing to bet Gold and UTA say good riddance. Vince was named the most diffficult celebrity to work with just last fall. Gold took him in in 2005 when his previous agent fired him for being “too aggressive”. Vince went from 3 million for Wedding Crashers to 10 for The Break Up and 20 for the dog called Fred Claus. His last movie, Wild West, did 600 thousand dollars. That’s right, big guy. Fire the folks who made you a 20 million dollar actor. Ain’t their fault your last two bombs misfired. They were probably telling you to sober up and lose weight and take a bath - good advice. And I do agree, why is this news?

Thanks for jogging my memory.

He did jump ship from his previous manager in ‘05. I remember that there were speculation that he did so for ‘personal reasons’ (possibly because of ___). Anyway, I kinda think that he’s a sap for leaving this agency. Little was made of Fred Claus and Wild West Comedy’s lackluster box office.

How is it that he didn’t get slammed while Will Ferrell’s box office power was questioned when Semi-Pro made 15M in its opening weekend?

Semi-Pro - 29M in 17 days versus Wild West Comedy - 600K in 29 days?

I’ll bet this movie will be a big box office flop like so many of THEIR other movies have bombed. Not too many people are interested in either Vince or Reese. There are many other more talented actors in Hollywood. I can bet this movie doesn’t make it.
