Michelle Trachtenberg Joins ‘Gossip Girl’

Buffy alum Michelle Trachtenberg is joining the cast of Gossip Girl, reports TV Guide.

Trachtenberg, 22, will play Georgina Sparks, a troublemaker from Serena’s (Blake Lively) past. Mischa Barton reportedly turned down the role.

You just know there’s going to be a Blair (Leighton Meester) and Georgina showdown!!!

Michelle’s comeback career since 2003’s Buffy is certainly starting to take off! She’s also starring alongside teen heartthrob Zac Efron in 17 Again, out in August.

UGH! She’s Georgina? Now I really DO think Mischa should’ve took the role. Georgina is supposed to be really beautiful and very has a woman look and body. Is Nate gonna fall for this Georgina?????

Anyway, I love Trachtenberg. This show just keeps getting better and better. Too bad it’s up against Canterbury’s Law

i don’t like or dislike this girl. but couldn’t they get someone… better? maybe… um, better looking (sexy) maybe… a better actress….?

i’m sure she’ll do fine, or they’ll kill her off (i hope). anyone’s better than barton.

Nope Annika, in the books Georgina looks a lil like snow white. She’s described as having black hair and pale white skin. She’s really messed up on drugs in the book.

Nooo! Mischa should’ve took the role instead of her. She doesn’t look like a gossip girl type at all.
Is it a permanant role? Or just a couple of episodes?

It’s only a recurring role. She shouldn’t be around long. I’m not worried. I haven’t seen much of this girl but I’m sure she’s a better actress than Mischa. She fits the physical description of book!Georgina. Although, I believe there taking her in a whole new direction on the show.

*shrugs* I don’t care. As long as she doesn’t mess with Blair.

i see they got a girl who wasn’t all to attractive, so no more attention would be taken from meester. with blake being the hottest girl on the show (by far) and getting all the attention they need someone who will make meester look a little better .

cool! i love her and she was really good in buffy! i’m glad to see she’s getting more roles, mischa or any o.c. star doesn’t work for me, i know josh created both shows, and i didn’t like the o.c. so i hope they let any of those crazy people on here..i like the “new comers” on gossip girl!

@ Summer: Hm, okay. I always pictured her blonde.
It still doesn’t change the fact that MT cannot act for her life. She’s just terrible. And she doesn’t look beautiful enough to pass as a Snow White.

ugh. I don’t like either her or Mischa. One of the reasons gg works is because all of the actors are relatively new. I hope she doesn’t have a big part. OR steal scenes away from blair because let’s be real…those are the best.

i prefer misha barton..michelle is really gorgeous..and obviously misha …i dont know…she and nate are couple???…i hope not…..jenny and nate..is the best couple!!!!….but taylor(jenny)misha or michellee are beautiful and really good actress…and michelle are really,really good luck…she work with zac efron and chace crawford….waou zac efron…but zanessa _4ever!!
