The View gals asked Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama this morning to help clear up the rumors that he’s related to Brad Pitt.
“I guess we are ninth cousins something removed or something,” Barack said.
Jokingly he added, “I think he got the better looking side of the gene pool.”
Barbara Walters couldn’t agree more: “We thought you were very sexy looking (applause). Don’t you think so? (to audience)”
Apparently, the other Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, is cousins with Pitt’s partner, Angelina Jolie, twice removed.

The publicity is a bit stomach churning, as if past presidents have appeared on such chat shows to gain votes in recent decades, the populist vote is really sickening.

I admire Brad and Angie from not being vocal as to who they are supporting for the Presidential nomination. Angie through her humanitarian work has learned the importance of collaboration between two parties to achieve a common goal. Ah this is old news! I knew this a couple days ago since it was in our local paper. The reason the clinton’s are related to Angie is b/c they have french canadian or just canadian on her background an I think Angies mom has it too so that is how they’re related. Plus Hilary is also related to Madonna, Celion Dione and Alana Moresette or however you spell her name.

I remember this story from a few months ago when Brad was promoting MIR. I get that there’s a lot going on and some journalists are preoccupied with the elections, but dammit, there’s a need for someone to serve as a continuity person or whatever you call it in order to avoid this needless repetition.

I hate to talk about politics on a celebrity blog… All I have to say is I am so glad Brad and Angie are NOT endorsing any candidate!!!
When my family votes this year our decision won’t be based on gender, race, who is related to whom or which celebrity endorsed which candidate!!! We have brains and we are not going to be swayed by a big name celeberity endorsing someone!! Actually I find it insulting that they think they can make others to change their opinion on who is more qualified just b/c they happen to be their fans! JMHO
When we ie my family vote, we are going to vote for someone who can get America from this downward spiral we are in. Economy is horrible, our foreign credibitly due to Iraq war is in the dumps, millions are w/o health care, millions are losing their homes due to forclosures and our foreign debt is in trillions and for most of us social security and medicare is in jeopardy! US dollar right now is half of UK pound and dollar keeps on losing it’s value all around the world! We need someone with experience and credibility around the world that can dig US out of this mess we are in. OK, I’ll get off my soapbox again this is JMHO!

Justin Timberlake is in Corpus Christi shooting a movie where he is a baseball player for the local “Hooks” baseball team. A call has gone out for “extras”. They will be shooting at “Whataburger Field” tomorrow at 4:00. Gates open for extras at 2:00. The radio d.j. said if you want to be an extra bring a sign with the name of the character he is playing. The sign needs to say “I (pic of a heart) you ****** (whatever the characters name is)

‘Tree of Life’ uprooted, briefly

Michael Corocoran, our crack reporter in Smithville, who calls with breathless reports about the latest Brangelina sightings and stuff like that, shoots us this latest bit from the set of Terrence Malick’s hush-hush “Tree of Life”:
“Tree of Life” has left Smithville for a week to film in the Texas Gulf Coast town of Matagorda.”
Beach shots. Fishing. Rocks. Sand. … What is Mysterious Maestro Malick up to?
Read one comment from a person who was an extra who said that the movie is about a really strict father with 3 sons. There are several students in Matagorda who were used as extras. One site had a pic of a little girl who was chosen as an extra. Filming was wrapped on the 26th. They are back in the Austin area. The small town of Matagorda was very happy to have the excitement for a while and the boost to the economy (lol).

Some of the brightest stars of modern-day Hollywood are shining in Matagorda County, and have been since filming of the major motion picture, “Tree of Life,” began on Monday, March 24.
Those looking for a star-sighting, however, are not welcome and will be blocked from gaining access to the film set.
Though closed to the general public, Matagorda County Judge Nate McDonald visited the set of the movie on Matagorda beach Monday during filming.
“They put us in a staging area about 100 feet from where the extras were receiving directions from the director,” said McDonald.
According to McDonald, at least 100 extras — many of them Matagorda County citizens — appeared in scenes shot on Monday.
A 93-year-old Palacios woman was among the ones McDonald visited.
While McDonald and other local officials are not at liberty to disclose who the main actors are in “Tree of Life,” many Web sites — including Wikipedia — report that Brad Pitt and Sean Penn are the two main stars of the movie.
McDonald said that the local extras acted in the same scenes with the two celebrities.
“The movie stars were actually right in among our people,” McDonald said.
“There was certainly some chit chat going on between our guys and the actors.”
When the actors arrived on set and began to do scenes, McDonald said he was able to move within 25 feet of the filming and watched the performances for about three hours.
According to McDonald, the portion of the movie being filmed in Matagorda will be seen at the end of the movie in a dream sequence.
The scenes cover a timeline that dates back as far as King Lear and even features a local man playing that part.
McDonald said that the extras were dressed in period clothing that appeared to be from the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.
When the movie is released for audiences, Matagorda County will definitely see some familiar sights, said McDonald.
“We’ll see our beach and we’ll see some local faces that we recognize,” McDonald said.
“I’m told some of the extras have speaking parts.”
McDonald also said that Tree of Life includes a few different Academy award nominated contributors including the director, cinematographer and costume designer.
McDonald said that he was able to visit with one of the actors over dinner at an area restaurant and was even glad to offer a little Texas hospitality by providing directions and leading one of them to their temporary residence.
Filming is expected to last through Wednesday, March 26.

Ok, I don’t have pics, but I do have confirmation that the movie Brad Pitt is filming “Tree of Life” is in Matagorda, Texas (small beach town 3 hours from Austin) for a few days. Some of my coworkers and their friends, family (even the jr. high principal) got cast as extras. There has been lots of “sightings”, but I’m not sure if that’s just b/c the everybody is excited and they think they see them, or, it really was them at Sonic…

“They are shooting a movie in Matagorda on the beach for the next three days. The beach is closed. A friend called me last night because his daughter had been called to be an extra and he couldn’t believe they were shooting a movie in Matagorda. His daughter told him that Brad Pitt is there. I went down there yesterday but the police have the whole area sealed off. Gosh I hope I get to see Angelena.
