Angie through her humanitarian work has learned the importance of collaboration between two parties to achieve a common goal. Hello JustJazz, in case your lurking I responded to your email. sorry it was late.. My Little Will Bradley was here last night .. he was showing his fast and slow dances . His dad was playing internet games with music and he danced to the music. The reason the clinton’s are related to Angie is b/c they have french canadian or just canadian on her background an I think Angies mom has it too so that is how they’re related. I remember this story from a few months ago when Brad was promoting MIR. I get that there’s a lot going on and some journalists are preoccupied with the elections, but dammit, there’s a need for someone to serve as a continuity person or whatever you call it in order to avoid this needless repetition.

And The View… how far they have fallen. Seriously, there has to be some better way to break the ice with a significant public figure. I mean, this is on the level of asking him ‘What’s your sign?’

I guarantee there be a rise in reports of people getting a foot put in their behinds.

‘Tree of Life’ uprooted, briefly

Michael Corocoran, our crack reporter in Smithville, who calls with breathless reports about the latest Brangelina sightings and stuff like that, shoots us this latest bit from the set of Terrence Malick’s hush-hush “Tree of Life”:

“Tree of Life” has left Smithville for a week to film in the Texas Gulf Coast town of Matagorda.”

Beach shots. Fishing. Rocks. Sand. … What is Mysterious Maestro Malick up to?

Read one comment from a person who was an extra who said that the movie is about a really strict father with 3 sons. There are several students in Matagorda who were used as extras. One site had a pic of a little girl who was chosen as an extra. Filming was wrapped on the 26th. They are back in the Austin area. The small town of Matagorda was very happy to have the excitement for a while and the boost to the economy (lol).

Some of the brightest stars of modern-day Hollywood are shining in Matagorda County, and have been since filming of the major motion picture, “Tree of Life,” began on Monday, March 24.

Those looking for a star-sighting, however, are not welcome and will be blocked from gaining access to the film set.

Though closed to the general public, Matagorda County Judge Nate McDonald visited the set of the movie on Matagorda beach Monday during filming.

“They put us in a staging area about 100 feet from where the extras were receiving directions from the director,” said McDonald.

According to McDonald, at least 100 extras — many of them Matagorda County citizens — appeared in scenes shot on Monday.

A 93-year-old Palacios woman was among the ones McDonald visited.

While McDonald and other local officials are not at liberty to disclose who the main actors are in “Tree of Life,” many Web sites — including Wikipedia — report that Brad Pitt and Sean Penn are the two main stars of the movie.

McDonald said that the local extras acted in the same scenes with the two celebrities.

“The movie stars were actually right in among our people,” McDonald said.

“There was certainly some chit chat going on between our guys and the actors.”

When the actors arrived on set and began to do scenes, McDonald said he was able to move within 25 feet of the filming and watched the performances for about three hours.

According to McDonald, the portion of the movie being filmed in Matagorda will be seen at the end of the movie in a dream sequence.

The scenes cover a timeline that dates back as far as King Lear and even features a local man playing that part.

McDonald said that the extras were dressed in period clothing that appeared to be from the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.

When the movie is released for audiences, Matagorda County will definitely see some familiar sights, said McDonald.

“We’ll see our beach and we’ll see some local faces that we recognize,” McDonald said.

“I’m told some of the extras have speaking parts.”

McDonald also said that Tree of Life includes a few different Academy award nominated contributors including the director, cinematographer and costume designer.

McDonald said that he was able to visit with one of the actors over dinner at an area restaurant and was even glad to offer a little Texas hospitality by providing directions and leading one of them to their temporary residence.

Filming is expected to last through Wednesday, March 26.

A friend called me last night because his daughter had been called to be an extra and he couldn’t believe they were shooting a movie in Matagorda. His daughter told him that Brad Pitt is there. I went down there yesterday but the police have the whole area sealed off. Gosh I hope I get to see Angelena.

I live in Matagorda county in Tx. and Brad in filming a movie here on the beach. Many of my children’s classmates have been called in to be extras in this movie. One of their classmates is said to be playing the part of his son. My daughter went to the beach this weekend and said her and her friends got turned away by security about 3 miles down the beach. also said to be in this movie is Sean Penn. A. Jolie and kids are said to be filming a movie in Bastrop County also not far from here. People have spotted them around but i have yet to see pics.

Barack is part white and black with an Asian sister and Asian step-father. Angie and Brad have Black and Asian kids. Barack’s grandma lives in Kenya. Jolie and Pitt adpted from Africa. I bet they are more Team Obama than Hillary. Also, Clooney, Damon and Affleck are all on Team Barack and so I bet Brad is too. They just use the Clintons for support on their politcal stuff and that is why they are not speaking out for Barack. Color me a neophyte, but California and Louisiana have already done their primaries; since they have homes in both places and presuming that they are registered voters in either locations, they have already voted.

If, by chance, they were registered in NY or TX, again, the primaries have already taken place; therefore, your argument that Brad is voting for fill-in-the-blank or Angelina is on the fence about fill-in-the-blank is pretty moot.

Flexibility on issues is a good thing to have, so he does sound better than GWB, if he HAS to be elected. I just don’t understand the mentality of some democrats. As you said, if one candidate gets the nomination, the other’s supporters are gonna go vote republican? Why? And I do find it interesting that so many Jolie-Pitt fans are so offended if Brad is voting Obama. You can accept Brad and Angelina adopting kids around the world but can’t accept a fabulous biracial president who is of a family of mixed race people like Brangelina’s family. I find that interesting. Turn the mirror onto yourself honey. I am with the majority - the people have spoken and Obama has gotten most of the popular votes and most delegates. Hillary can only win if she steals it. So get mad all you want - I am in good company.

And ask yourself privately: why are you so mad if Brad was supporting Obama? huh? Ask yourself that question. And you may not be happy with the answer that your own self gives you.

I see a lot of animated features in advance and, for the most part, keep my opinions to myself until the movie is in general release. Today I had the opportunity to screen Kung Fu Panda and cannot contain myself. I’m not going to write a review or post spoilers - but I just want to alert you to what I believe is one of the best CG animated films I’ve ever seen.

Yup. Right up there with The Incredibles. Dreamworks has done it. No joke.

The art direction, the voices, the character animation, the comedy, the action scenes, the opening 2-D cartoon sequence, the heart… it all works. Don’t miss this in a theatre. I don’t care what you think of the trailer, or Dreamworks track record, or anything like that. None of that matters. This film is good, and will a big hit. Mark my words - you’ll want the action figures.

Yes, this is a rave. I’ll post a more formal review as we get closer to its release. I just wanted to be the first to tell you.

The beauty of America is that the candidacy is not guaranteed for anyone,. I find that cool. My mom comes from a country like Japan that is simply not as Democratic as the US so it is cool that here we never know. November 5 we will know. Not before that. For the record, Hillary has the biggest challenge because Obama has the most popular votes and if she gets the nomination - she will have a larger number of people not voting for her than vice versa. Again, the math is a fact: she can’t win unless superdelegates come in. Just a hard fact - has nothing to do with emotions. It is mathematically impossible. Either way it is exciting and I am inspired.

Obama ‘08! The people have already spoken loud and clear - the proof is in the numbers. No way around the math.

In the 5th grade when Nixon ran against Kennedy our class was divided into 2 sides, the teacher chose randomly who would support Kennedy and who would support Nixon. We all know what happened JFK won and got assassinated, Nixon won in 68′ and 72 then resigned in 74/5 and lived to a ripe old age and had a respectful national funeral. Later the revelations of JFK came out. Now I am just happy that voting is still done privately, even though the 2000 election was decided by the supreme court. I think change and surprise is all that I can expect. Given the latest resignation and disclosures from the Governors in my state, I will watch the battles on the food network and if I’m still here in November I will vote for one of the two people chosen to run. I won’t debate or attempt to influence. Signed a petition about the baby seals today I thought this had stopped in the 80’s, will this ever end no, I will; my son has promised to let fellow bloggers know when I meet my end. So it is OK, this too shall pass.

LOL. The story doesn’t say Angie’s having a difficult pregnancy “because the babies are heavy”. They’re claiming that SHE “feels heavy” and bloated. They also go into details about edema and gestational diabetes and how Angie has to test her blood after every meal and that she’s got Brad and the kids eating tge sane steamed veggies and grilled fish she’s had to change to because she was eating too much junk food. And remember, this is the same brain trust who this time last year accused Angie of starving herself into anorexia by not eating at all. They see her make one trip to Mickey D’s and the Colonel with her kids, heard that her manager got her Doritos and Oreos at an awards show and suddenly she’s a junk-food junkie with gestational diabetes and no idea of good nutrition for pregnant women. Just when I think the Star can’t get any more ridiculous…they go and to top themselves…

The thread has been quite enjoyable to me and laughter is the best medicine. I now go under the desk whenever there is breaking news from any governors on the east coast, and I remove small children (after the governor of NJ press conference geez) If you went to St Aloysius then I may even know you, a lot of my friends went there. ITA Alex. I’m not feeling Obama. I just don’t think he’s got enough experience and he’s got some shady connections in his background that I’m less than thrilled with…and his smile doesn’t reach his eyes. He’s just a little too cold and calculated for me. Hillary’s cold and calculating…but she ain’t trying to pass herself off as amiable and fun at the same time.

But hey…if it’s between Obama and McClain it’s a no brainer. At least Obama is interesting and it won’t be a dull 4 or more years. With McCain it’s like somebody set the alarm and wake me when it’s over…er, if we still have a country left that is….

so, how are the numbers for Obama so far?, he has real chances to win?

WASHINGTON - It is amazing how loud some of the buzz is for Sen. Hillary Clinton to “do what’s best for the party” and get out.
More than any other week, this one seemed to have the most actual calls for a Clinton withdrawal.
It started last Friday with Bill Richardson. It has continued throughout the past seven days with calls from both Sen. Barack Obama supporters (Chris Dodd and Pat Leahy) to supposed uncommitted Dem bigwigs (Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi).
I use the term “supposed” because I think one can start reading between the lines of statements from the so-called undecided superdelegates. If someone says, “the process isn’t hurting the party, let everyone have a say” you know that is code for “I’m still holding out hope for Clinton.”
But if a supposed uncommitted superdelegate says, “we need to start thinking about what this is doing to our long term chances of defeating John McCain” that is code for, “I am leaning toward Obama but I hope Clinton will simply drop out so I can always claim to her and Bill that I was never against them.”
Still, Clinton should feel vindicated for staying in the race in part because of the Rev. Wright blow up. As of now, it appears Obama has weathered the storm. He deftly shifted the debate from values to a discussion about race and society. For many Dems it was a leadership moment, which may not have occurred without Clinton in the race.
Now, Obama was dented a bit, and he certainly lost the very soft support he was getting from Republicans, according to our most recent NBC/WSJ poll. Nevertheless, he held steady with independents.

As one person commented to me, the Wright controversy forced Obama to use his “get out of jail free” card, meaning he had a reservoir of support he could tap into in order to get a large chunk of voters to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Ultimately, the Wright issue will never be fully behind him. He will have to address the issue again at some point because race is like catnip to the media, as well as to the public at large. As a society, we can’t help but examine the issue any chance we get. For the press it is like a car crash story: We hate to report it, but we always do.

Moreover, I would argue the Wright story turned off enough older white voters so that Obama can no longer argue that when compared with Clinton he will expand the electoral map in a general election with McCain.

Now he can simply say he will use a different map; a map that ultimately might expand for the party as a whole, even if his path to 270 is no less narrow a victory than Clinton’s. It is just different.

Obama will rely on greater strength west of the Mississippi, while Clinton will use the same Gore-Kerry map. She will simply promise that she will carry Ohio or Florida.

The party ought to lay off the calls for Clinton to drop out, at least for now, because her presence at worst is making Obama a better candidate. The Wright flare-up was the first true political crisis of Obama’s national political career, which is remarkable given how close he is to being the Democratic nominee. Who knows when the Wright controversy would have circulated had the nomination been locked up.

Obama needed to prove he could handle a real media firestorm, something Clinton has done numerous times throughout her career. In fact, her political survival skills have been marketed as an asset by the campaign, something I think would have sold better in ‘04 when the party was looking for a tough survivor to put up against Bush.

The constant reminder to Democrats about Clinton’s ability to handle firestorms has played into Obama’s “turn the page” message. There is a large chunk of Obama supporters who are with him because they are exhausted from the political firefights of the last 20 yea
